Definitely one of the best night clubs in Hollywood and maybe even in LA. They always have good music and great vibes. Ambiance is interesting and most importantly, unlike other clubs sound has an outdoor space where you can take a break between dancing.

Last night while celebrating my friends birthday, a security guard approached our table and told us he was going to have our group removed unless we paid him $20. He made my boyfriend and our friend (whose birthday it was) send him $20 each to keep us inside. then they sold our table and sent a waitress to come scream at us to get moving just minutes after. We notified the manager on the way out about the extortion but please be WARY at this club. Here is the guard & his cashapp.

Our first time at Sound was awesome! We went to go see some DJs that a friend had recommended and tickets were only $25 but the DJs were amazing. The sound system/bass was great too, I really felt the music in my body haha. It does get a little loud so I would recommend bringing earplugs. The bartenders and door ppl were friendly as well and the restroom was actually really clean for a club. There's also an outdoor patio for smoke/fresh air breaks and luckily it didn't feel too crowded on the night we went. Would definitely go back!

The club opens at 10AM and wont let you line up until then. We went on the guestlist line at 10:14PM time which they state it closes at 10:30PM and the line wasn't ling and they didn't close it off and still let you line up. We get to the front of the line at 10:32PM and they say that they're not accepting anymore guestlist they coerce us to pay once you reach the front even though the line moved slow because they themselves moved it slow. We ended up leaving cause we are not going to pay $50+ for their own scam fault. AVOID AT ALL COST

I am quite fond of this venue to see some music acts. Its a pretty small intimate space ( I believe the capacity is 600). It's not super crowded, you can get table service if you want but usually those tables aren't fully booked, so if you want you can actually sit down on the right hand side and use those tables (especially later in the night). There's 2 bars but the front bar has front and back sides so I guess its like 3 bars. there's 2 bathrooms one in front and one in the back and there's a smoking area if you want to smoke or get some smoky fresh air if its getting too hot in there for you. The security there is pretty chill, didnt' get any of that cattle call nonsense with flashlights telling you to move along and no crazy pat downs or whatever just walk through a metal detector. The sound is pretty good without being overwhelmingly loud, there's really not bad spots because the club is so small, its only one big dance floor with tables to the right hand side of the club. I really like their moving lantern ceiling thing, that thing is a vibe to itself. Although occasionally whoever is doing the lighting leaves the crowd in the dark for long stretches of time, but i'm sure its because they were forgetful or something. Its right off of Hollywood Blvd and La Palma, so if you dont want to wait for the crunch of cars on La Palma just walk down a bit and it'll be easier to catch ride share out.I'm a fan, will definitely be back.

I don't understand the bad reviews because I had an absolute blast here. This place is the spot on Thursdays! The sound is great, the lighting is awesome, and there is plenty of space to dance. The outdoor patio was a bonus. Bartenders were friendly and drinks were not over priced for Los Angeles. I look forward to coming back here again.

Went to see Sofia Kourtesis, but the resident DJ was just as good if not better. Great sound, good flow, cool staff. Apparently they have food towards the front across the women's restroom too, if ur hungry, which is always good if ur drinking. Overall, the place has a good flow, drinks were strong, and the crowd was cool, too.

Unfortunately the vibe at Sound is something that's completely gone downhill since Covid. The crowds are fine, but the staff is a nightmare. My last experience there has thinking it'll be my last time going. They partner with the Discotech app for free guest list before 10:30 PM for certain shows, which I try to take advantage of because I know we'll be spending $100 each on drinks. We arrived in like at 10:10 and the door guys held the line starting at 10:15- 10:32 so the last folks in line for the free guest list were either turned away or had to pay a $45 "discounted" door price. The tickets were still $36 on Dice. Massive scam. Since some of our friends bought tickets, and others already got in on the guest list, we had to pay. But we drank less as a result. The service from bartenders was fine, but her lies another scam. They charge $2 for a cup deposit and will switch cups out if you bring them back to the bar OR give you your $2 back at the end of the night... in theory. Well they have men coming around bussing cups before we were even done drinking them. So not only are they charging us $2 for a cup we can't return, they're taking our drinks we haven't even finished. Absolute trash. We used to frequent Sound pre-Covid. Now I go out less in general and am older and more choosy on the places I frequent but this last experience left such a salty taste in my mouth. It's run by predatory douches. Hang onto your cups or you'll get your drink snatched. The guestlist is a scam they're running and the cup deposit is a scam they're running. No respect for their guests at all. Such a shame.
