Happy Hour can't be beat! But besides that, the best service! Super friendly bartender! And the person who brought our food. Delish food! Tater tots came w a cheese sauce that was delish! Love the inside. Nice and open windows everywhere. Perfect for day drinking. Lol.

Review #8392025-011Food Order:Original 50/50 Burger (50/50 beef & bacon blend, pepperjack cheese, avocado, over easy egg, chipotle mayo, brioche bun) with French Fries, Chili Cheese FriesI first enjoyed a sample of Slater's 50/50 at 2017's Time Out L.A. Battle of the Burger. Oh, what a battle it was! Their concept is dedicated to burgers, bacon (incorporating 50% bacon & 50% beef in their patties), & beer... it's no wonder the gastro-pub has a huge following. Founded in 2009, Scott Slater, a S. CA native, was inspired by the belief that bacon is meat candy... creating the "original 50/50 patty" = 50% ground bacon + 50% ground beef.Most locations were located many miles N or NE, so I was happy to see their 09/2023 announcement to take over Johnny Rockets on the upper level by AMC Theatres at Del Amo Fashion Center. Although the dining room appears spacious, the back-to-back tables are a tad too close & you may bump your neighbor when squeezing into the inner seat.I haven't dined in yet; I occasionally ordered from Slater's 50/50 for our office's weekly 3xTs (Thursday Takeout Treats): Original 50/50 Burger with Fries, particularly for the chili kick from the chipotle mayo & pepperjack cheese. Fries are slightly soggy from condensation on the drive back, but I usually have a few crisp pieces before getting into my car.The Chili Cheese Fries is not recommended. There's something off-putting with the liquid cheese & chili. I like "real" shredded cheese either cheddar or American that organically melts from the temperature of the fries & chili, not this liquified stuff. Yuck! The chili was kinda sweet, BBQ flavor. I like a hearty, savory chili, & this wasn't it.The menu is pretty extensive with starters, wings, flatbreads, burgers, salads, specials (i.e. hot dogs), loaded fries, sides, milkshakes, & soft drinks. There's a 50 Alarm Burger that's so hot that a waiver is required. What's hot? Ghost chili powder, ghost chile jack cheese, grilled jalapeños, spicy fried peppers, & habañero-bacon spread. Yikes! I'm at the life stage where I can no longer handle that much chili heat.Service during lunch rush has been iffy. My order has always been ready upon my arrival, & I'm usually on the dot. Sometimes I think it's been prepared early so my burger is lukewarm or cool by the time I get back to the office. Not once was there someone at the host(ess) stand, so I'm often left waiting before I can collect my order unless it's sitting at the table. When my bag's there, I'm tempted to grab & go instead of waiting for a server to clear me. There were times when I was called into a meeting after placing my order via Local by Toast app, & I would try to delay the pick-up/cook time by calling but no one picks up the phone. What's worse is you can't make changes on the app even though the original pick-up is more than 30-mins. ＼(｀0´)／Recommended: Original 50/50 Burger & Fries.

They have a limited selection of vegan options, nothing is labeled as vegan but you could probably modify some things. The staff was clearly very busy, but sitting at the bar was a nice experience. Because of that they might rush past you when you need something. $3 beers are appealing, I would recommend this place just on that alone if you're in between movies or something like that. Inside it's dark and neon, with some cool art as well. It's nicely decorated, but could probably be a bit cleaner.

We stopped by before our movie at AMC and tried the Backyard Classic burger for $9.99. It's a good sized burger featuring an Angus beef patty topped with cheese, crisp lettuce, tomato, onions, and a dill pickle, all served on a soft brioche bun. The patty was perfectly cooked to a juicy medium-rare, making it incredibly satisfying. Service was outstanding, thanks to the friendly and attentive female bartender who made the experience even better.

HAPPY HOUR every day from 3pm-6pm $3 wines & beers ! I grabbed 2 drinks and got a little buzzed before my movie at the AMC theatres next door for $6 bucks!

Just an update on the Groupon offer for 2 burgers of any kind & 2 matching beer flights. (The manager did reach out on my previous yelp review, but we didn't utilize the offer that was provided, nor did we purchase anything outside of the Groupon.)My bf and I went on 11/27/24, and we were allowed to order any burgers off the "Burgers" list and the "Luxury Burgers" list. We got the 24k Gold Burgers, and it was so amazing! Definitely the best burger we've had here, hands down! The burgers didn't come with fries, but we were more than ok with that. We weren't required to get matching flights, so we both got to drink what we wanted.We went again on 1/15/25, and we were able to order off the "Burgers" list and the "Luxury Burgers" list with the EXCEPTION of the 24k Gold Burger and the Torrance Farmhouse. We got the Lone Star Smoke, and it came with fries! We weren't required to get matching flights (not being required to get matching flights is very consistent and a nice surprise).Take away: The rules on what you can get for the burgers "of any kind" has changed with each of our 3 visits. We were never required to get matching flights.Despite the minor uncertainty in regard to what burgers we can order, we'll keep going back with the Groupon deal because it's such an affordable and filling date night! (Depending on Groupon's additional promo codes, we've paid $18-$20 for this deal. I tip based on the regular cost of the order, so less than $40 for burgers and drinks for 2 people!)

The hubby craving burgers as for myself I'm always sold on Frickles anyone else with me.? After running errands I took the hubby out for a burger and burger it was. We werenthe first eager beavers to enter the establishment. Jj what a cool cat he was an awesome server, bartender, greeter you name it he wore many hats this morning. Service was outstanding. Jk consistently refills drinks when low. There was no need to ask for anything as he provided everything before even thinking about asking. The atmosphere was relaxing the patrons have yet to fill the spaces and thier day is just beginning. A huge shout out to Chef Romero who made the hubby's creation and came out eye shocking. Parking is right next to circus vargas. Free parking. The business is location upstairs. They no longer serserve mac n cheese balls. A little disappointed as those were big hits.

Had an amazing experience at Slater's 50/50 Torrance! The atmosphere was great, and the service was top-notch. Tray took care of us and provided excellent service--super friendly and attentive!If you're visiting, you must try the Maple Bourbon wings. They were absolutely delicious--perfectly crispy with a rich, sweet, and smoky bourbon glaze. Hands down, one of the best wing flavors I've ever had!Highly recommend this place for great food, drinks, and an awesome dining experience. Can't wait to come back!

Definitely zero star. Onion ring was hard as rock and no silverwares were served (I had to walk around to find my server and ask her for this shit)Beer cup was dirty and had unidentified stain and the draft beer tastes like water: worst beer ever.AND unnecessary/unwanted charge: toast fee??YOU were the one who wants to use the platform but you don't want to get charged? And that stupid fee is something that customers have to paid and/or took responsibility? So pathetic.

Really understaffed. The bartender was taking care of the bar, restaurant, and take out orders. She was very sweet but it visibly became a little overwhelming. Waited for about 10 minutes with any empty beer glass at the bar before I was visited again. A lot of people waiting at the host stand to be seated This is in no way the bartenders fault. Management should have properly staffed. Hope things improve staffing wise because the atmosphere in here looks very nice.
