I'd been craving curry, so I decided to give this place a try even though they're more known for their ramen. I got the Curry Rice with Karaage and was really impressed. I ordered it at spicy level 5, and the curry was so flavorful with quite a kick without being overwhelming. The chicken karaage was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, making it a great complement to the rich curry. I loved dipping the chicken into the curry sauce! The portion was generous making it a satisfying meal. I ordered online and was able to pick up my food within 10 minutes. I'd definitely come back to try more from the menu. If you're a fan of Japanese curry, this is a solid choice.

I recently tried this ramen spot for the first time after receiving a gift card over the holidays. The location is super convenient in downtown Anaheim, with lots of street and garage parking available. The vibe is casual, and while you order to go, there are outdoor tables where you can enjoy your meal al fresco. We went with the original hakata ramen, which came with chashu (sliced pork) and scallions. You can add extras like eggs or bean sprouts. The portion was a bit smaller than expected and the noodles were more on the al dente side but the broth and chashu had good flavor. We also tried the chashu, karaage and tuna mayo "sushi" sandwiches, last two recommended by the cashier. The tuna mayo was my personal favorite - it had a nice, creamy flavor. The karaage was also good, with a piece of tender chicken. They also offer Japanese curries with rice. Overall, a solid spot for a quick bite.

I did a mobile order for a sausage, tuna mayo, karaage, and ebi fry. The tuna and sausage was enjoyable; however the karaage and ebi fry was not fresh. All rice rolls are served cold - seems like it was premade and left out. The ebi fry or karaage was not crispy so it is not something I would want to eat unless packing for a picnic that I'm having later. The karaage tastes like teriyaki. For the price it is okay! However I will stick to things that can be enjoyed eaten cold

I have such fond memories of Shen shin gumi in Fountain Valley but realized this is Shin sen gumi. Instead of letting down my ramen expectations I got a cha shu rice sandwich. It wasn't very flavorful but it is very convenient for a snack before going into the rink. Sweet omelet was not overly sweet and a nice balance to the saltiness of the seaweed & underwhelming taste of the cha shu. All in all ok.

Haiku: Shin Sen Gumi 2GoHandheld, on-the-goAll sorts of rice sandwichesPerfect for picnics.---Who knew rice sandwiches existed? This is essentially an onigiri with a sweet egg, but in sandwich form.I got the Unagi, a grilled eel polished with a sweet soy glaze and fresh with a shiso leaf and sweet egg omelet. I also got the Chashu Pork. Although it had great taste from the crunchy chili oil, the chashu was lacking in presence and wish there was more. I'd like to see the protein items to be a little bit more substantial. I was disappointed that they don't carry yakitori items anymore. However, they just started carrying ramen again. I love SSG Hakata ramen, so I'll have to come back to this location and try it.

Nice cool day in December to have some ramen. I've always been a fan of Shinsengumi and love the location in Fountain Valley. Since this one is closer to me, I was stoked and want to try. Parking is not hard to find, there is a parking structure nearby. Upon arriving, the shop reminds me of a stall-like feel but in a shopfront. Many photos on the menu and a handful of selections available.I had to order the Hakata Ramen and I had also gotten the Katsu Rice Sandwich (kind of like a Musubi with more umami). Gotten the food to-go.When I got to eat the ramen almost 2 hours later, it was still warm but I had heat it up because i like it just a bit warmer. It was delicious but I do prefer eating it at the restaurant much more. Did not get much interaction with the staff but everything was easy and smooth.Would come back again if I am craving ramen, but I would much prefer the restaurant version.

The kids liked the musubi's. I had the karaage chicken. I felt like I've had better but it's a nice place to for a snack and it satisfied my kids especially because the bakery we wanted to go was closed that day.

Wow I don't normally leave reviews for places but this place DESERVES a review!!! The service was awesome, he was friendly and was patient with us ordering. The place was well kept and clean and they were stocked on condiments and utensils. They also had water and cups out which I thought was nice. The prices were awesome too, only 3-5$ for the little wraps!! My friend got the A5 Wagyu and the unagi. I got the tonkatsu and karaage. It did take a bit of time for our orders but they were made to order. Each was freshly made and hot when we got it. But it was all worth the wait. The rice was super soft and fluffy, and the egg inside was sweet and complimented the meats amazingly!! The meat was so tender and perfectly seasoned as well. I love tonkatsu and it was just perfectly made. I was saying mmmm with every bite!! Definitely will be coming back very soon!! :)
