Atmosphere - good Food - very goodService - very goodWe were able to easily get a reservation on a Saturday night. That is unusual for some of the local Korean barbecue spots. The restaurant is pretty clean and that's not always the case for some of these KBBQ's are only complaint is that we often go to Garden Grove to our favorite KBBQ spot and the price is about half of what we paid at this one and the meat quality is not better. I personally always get soondobu and that was pretty good. The banchan is also very good. But the value just isn't there.

We got there around 5 and were the only ones there. That only breaks my "if it's empty, don't eat there" rule. However, we just came back from an overseas trip and were starving for Kbbq that was close by to LAX so we were desperate. The ajimas were super attentive at first. But after we ordered a second round of food, that's when it all went downhill. The BIGGEST STRIKE against them was our second order of LA Galbi was a noticeably worse quality than the first. The first order was amazing, fatty and juicy. The second one tasted horrible. Inconsistency in meat cut/quality is a big no-no for me - especially at these prices. Def not coming back.

We were a table of 5 and waited a bit for the table to be ready while there were a lot of other tables filled. The servers were nice otherwise, but was a little bit of an odd start seeing people just walking back and forth but seemingly doing any tasks. Once we were seated, service was pretty good. Combo B-B was enough for 5 of us. Meat quality was good and they cook it for you which is a plus. I liked the cooking surface they have, and they even have little racks to put the cooked meat which was really nice so it didn't overcook. Banchan was pretty standard and they did have radish wraps. After the meat is cooked, they make a kimchi fried rice at the end which looked flavorful in that deep orange kimchi color, but just tasted so/so. Not packed with flavor and a little soft. We ended the meal with cold noodle which really hit the spot! It was nice and slushy! So refreshing after a heavier, meaty meal.

This place gets a lot of hype but I'm not 100% sure why. We ordered B D deal and it was decent. Some of the meat were chewy and too fatty. The service was mediocre. They were super nice but didn't help with much of the cooking. Once one of the members from the group started to turn the meat, someone would come and start. Most of the meat was overcooked due to their lack of service. We had to ask for some sides more than once, and ordered more items multiple times. The place is small, quaint but then I realized there's more spots in the back. It seems like a place that would be really busy on a normal Friday or weekend night. Overall, I wouldn't come back. It was nice to try though.

If you're looking for Korean barbecue in a cozy environment, this is it. At Shilla, the ahjummas (Korean ladies) will cook the meats for you and are always encouraging you to eat more XDNow that we're heading into a chilly winter this year, I wanna make sure ya'll have this spot saved for your LA food bucket list. The quality of all their meats is just unparalleled--the ladies will literally pick off the excess fat when they're cooking while making sure every cut is grilled to perfection. And this is the perfect place for family-style sharing so you can try a little bit of everything, like seafood ramen and galbi tang (beef short rib soup). I loooved their seafood pancake and would absolutely go back just for this! And you know their food is made with love when their kimchi fried rice is cooked right in front of you in a heart...so freakin' adorable. Thanks for reading! ^-^

The best part of this place is the banchan - the fish cakes and the potatoes were the stars, but honestly we enjoyed them all and appreciated the free banchan refills. We got the Shilla A Sampler ($90) which included three meats. We chose the beef bulgogi, beef brisket, and the thinly sliced pork. We greatly appreciated that the staff cooked everything for us, but unfortunately the meat dried out quickly after cooking and became chewy. The dipping sauces helped a ton and were delicious but we were underwhelmed with the quality of all three meats for the price. We came on a Friday evening around 5:30 and were seated immediately - i made a reservation on Yelp just in case but didnt need it, as there were plenty of tables open. Parking at that time was easy but the lot was almost full by the time we left around 7. Staff was all very helpful and it seems that all staff help all tables, which means fast and attentive service!

I recently visited Shila Korean BBQ, and I must say, the experience was solid from start to finish. We arrived around 5:30 on a weekday, so parking was doable. However, the parking area is not spacious, and I can see it getting very busy on the weekend. The staff started by getting us settled and teaching us how to cook the ribs on the grill. Their patience and attentiveness were greatly appreciated, especially since it was our first time at this Korean BBQ.We decided to order the beef combo, which was a fantastic choice. The variety and quality of the meats were impressive. Among the selections, our favorite was the second type of beef, which was marinated to perfection. The flavors were rich and savory, making each bite a delight. The marinated beef was tender and juicy. The restaurant was clean and well-organized, with a lively yet comfortable ambiance. The side dishes that accompanied the beef combo were delicious and complemented the meats well. I particularly enjoyed the mac salad and rice paper.Overall, the price point is on the higher side, so I have high expectations when I pay this much for KBBQ. Solid 4 stars!

What I Ordered:Beef BrisketPrime Rib SlicedShilla Woodae RibMujiFuji Fresh Pork BellyFood: Shilla was a KBBQ spot I went often when I was a kid, so I was excited to visit as an adult. With the first view of the marbling on the meats, I can tell that the meats were definitely high quality compared to other spots in the neighborhood. My favorite has to be the Sliced Prime Rib. I swear each piece of meat melted in my mouth with this one. I typically eat the meat as it is, but they have a variety of sauces available for those of you who like to sauce it up. The meal comes with a variety of side dishes that are house made in addition to a salad. After you are done with your meat, they make a serving of Kimchi Fried Rice. YOU HAVE TO GET THIS. Each piece of rice is well covered in the meat oils during the cooking process, which makes it so much more flavorful than typical fried rice. They also add a hefty amount of cheese to the kimchi fried rice, so you have a wonderful combination of spicy and cheesy dish to finish your meal.Service: The servers cook the meats from start to finish unlike many other KBBQ spots. Everyone is nice and friendly!Ambiance: It honestly felt like I went inside a KBBQ restaurant actually in Korea. The interior design and overall vibes made it look like a restaurant in Korea.

This restaurant is so large, making it great for large groups. There is a separate section with really long tables to accommodate for parties of 10 per table. Their menu had a bunch of combos and we went with the BPA Combo for 3 people which was a good amount. The galbi was our favorite part but the kimchi fried rice at the end was more kimchi than rice. That was sad. The downside: The service was really slow and it was frustrating for us. It look awhile to get the sides and initial meat. They didn't come back to help us with cooking. We ended up cooking it all ourselves, otherwise the meat probably would've been burnt or we wouldn't have been able to eat. We also never got water refills. This place is definitely understaffed.
