In OC its safe to say that there is no shortage of Korean restaurants of different variety - and I have tried many. I come to the Carson area often and was honestly surprised to see a Korean kimbap/comfort food spot.My wife placed a pick-up order of the meat kimbap ( like a sushi roll for people who don't like fish) and the Hotteok (a thin pancake stuufed with cinnamon and walnuts) for the ride home. The rice and meat in the kimbap were cooked to perfection, and overall well seasoned and balanced with the added. vegetables. This sounds basic but often I find some/many places offer kimbap that is either not fresh, or overcooked and in need of some sort of dipping sauce to fully enjoy.Do not overlook the Hotteok which to me seems like a Korean version of baklava, but with it own unique profile. I'm not a dessert person but my wife has a sweet tooth and it was the perfect level of natural sweetness and its portion size is perfect for sharing.I always notice that a good eating spot, whether its an expensive restaurant or a casual dining place in a strip mall, does the small things right - it shows attention to detail. In a sea of " sameness" I hope this place receives the support that it deserves and we forward to trying the rest of the menu.

I've never been to a take-out korean bowl place before, so this is a first. This place is located next to the Walmart Carson market. Parking lot is fairly sized and there are a few other businesses at this shopping center. Pickup took a little time as they were closing, but they were very friendly. I got the spicy chicken bowl which comes with a generous portion of chicken, grain rice, kim chicken, pickled veggies, and broccoli. Also had some Jap chae. Everything was very good and a good value for what you pay. I ate only 1/3 of the bowl and have some leftovers for tomorrow. Delicious!

Please Carson. Let's keep them in business.I tried this place tonight for dinner takeout. I ordered the sweet and spicy kaarage chicken bowl, the spicy pork bowl, and the short ribs bowl all with white rice as the base. And a vegetable kimbap.Service at the counter when ordering was great. My order was repeated and I received my correct order.I didn't eat inside but waited for my order at a table. Inside has about 7 tables. There's a TV in the corner with K-Pop music videos playing. Inside was nice. Clean. All was delicious. The green sauce is one of my favorite things. When I eat Peruvian food I put it on my fried rice. That stuff is good on everything. Their green sauce is good. The kaarage is perfect. Crunchy, spicy, juicy. The Kalbi is prepared well. They do it right. The spicy pork (bulgogi) was also delicious. Perfect balance on all the dishes.I highly recommend. I'll do my part as a patron.

Oooh, I'm a fan of Seoul Bap. My wife and I went for an easy Saturday lunch. I had the korean fried chicken rice bowl, and my wife had hers with spicy chicken. Both were loaded and generous with the meat. I could only finish about half of mine and save the rest for later. My chicken with the sweet and spicy sauce was tasty. I could do with a little more spicy, but my wife gave me all her jalapeños. He kimchi and pickled onions helped too. We also got a side of japchae noodles, which are always a favorite of ours.I'd come back for sure. The inside is quite simple, and clean. The cashier was friendly and nice.

I'm surprised I haven't left a review yet but I come here like at least once a month or so. I think when they first opened I was hyper fixated with their Korean fried chicken bowl, my husband bought it for me 2x in one week lol I'm giving my rating and review based on the many times I have came and the consistency of service, taste, and overall experience. Hands down one of the best restaurants for fast Korean food. Their bowls here are hefty and super good. I'm super biased to say the KFC bowl is the best. Come at me, but I don't get anything else tbh. I have tried other bowls, proteins, specials but it's that bowl that has my heart. Their gimbap is also fire & they have Mexican Coke. So yeah. I will say that there were times where the flavor was not consistent. It happened twice or so, and I was curious if they had a new chef. It didn't seem busy at the time but I still decided to come back. Today's was definitely bussin and I was happy. There was another time that they mixed up my order for the KFC flavor. When I told Julie (I think) she brought me the flavor I asked for. So overall, I still love this place. The restaurant is cute and homey. All my photos are taken different days.

Really good food for a great price! I especially liked the beef kimbap, it was very flavorful and the veggies were nice and crunchy. The service was also great, the guy at the front was so nice. The place is a little hidden in a lot next to a Walmart but once inside, there is a beautiful tiger mural and a few tables. I also liked that they participate in 'Too Good to Go' so they are making sure they do not have as much food waste as other restaurants :)

First time trying this place and it was really good! We got two bowls and some tteokbokki and they were great. The green sauce is a mild cilantro sauce and it went really well with the food. We ordered our food online and it was ready really quickly. Would go back to try more of their menu items

Followers of mine and even people I know IRL may be surprised to hear that I've been going through a dry spell this summer, encountering a handful of idiots and difficult people with a side of other crap going on. That even included a recent visit to a nearby area that's made me quite apprehensive about returning, though such an act would have entailed completely missing out on this fine Korean eatery on the northeast corner of Del Amo and Avalon. And this Korean eatery is so fine that it seriously made me forget about all those idiots and difficult people I mentioned in the first paragraph, even if it meant missing out on their Seoul Juice. More on that later.Seoul Bap recently replaced Legend Hot Chicken, retaining the interior setup of the former occupant. I saw that Seoul Bap had a Yelp check-in offer of a KFC sampler*. Not Colonel Sanders KFC, but rather, Korean Fried Chicken as utilization of such fowl would almost be perceived as a foul in Korean cuisine. When I asked Aaron at the front counter, he said it'd be four pieces of their boneless fried chicken, which can come in one of two flavors: Sweet & Spicy or Soy Garlic. Tough choice, but I went with Sweet & Spicy.Of course, I'd be remiss to not order an entree alongside the complimentary KFC sampler, so I went with a dosirak even though I hadn't heard of the name before that day. It's like a Korean bento box, though their website says lunch box instead, and I'm hoping that doesn't mean it's only available during lunch hours because I'd love to eat it for dinner as well!Since I was already getting chicken, I didn't want to choose a chicken protein, so I went with a pork. I initially chose pork belly, but then decided to ask Aaron about spicy pork since the name was a little vague. After he described it, I realized it was similar to the beef bulgogi, but with pork instead, so I switched to the spicy pork.I also asked about their Seoul Juice, but they were unfortunately out of stock, as indicated on their website. That was a little disappointing because I wanted to get some for family visiting from out of state.I asked Aaron how long it would take for them to prepare my meal. I was expecting at least 10 minutes, but he said only about 7-8, which was spot on! I sat at a table by the left wall facing the TV in the far corner showing some KPOP music videos at a soft to moderate volume that would still allow for conversations at a normal voice level.During my wait, I noticed they had utensils at the front counter, which I forgot to pick up the first time, so I grabbed a couple. Turns out I didn't need to because when Aaron handed me my tray, there was already a fork and some chopsticks. Oops?! lolThe Dosirak was great! Everything tasted fresh, and I was even given a cup of their signature green sauce and a cup of (soy?) sauce. For a lunch box of this size, I easily could have used a second cup of each, but I think there would have been an upcharge for that. The KFC sampler was presented on a small, circular, styrofoam tray, and I'm thinking it was the same KFC that was on my Dosirak, which may have disappointed me a little because then I would have chosen the Soy Garlic so as to get the best of both worlds. In addition to the KFC, I also got some banchan like japchae, pickled vegetables, broccoli, and a small salad that was very tightly packed. Japchae is a premium option for your base, and I almost went with that instead of purple rice. Glad I chose the purple rice to be underneath the spicy pork! Lastly, there were some fried dumplings (potstickers?) next to the spicy pork.A Dosirak is $6 more than a bowl, but you get so much more that I'd say it's worth trying at least once. However, it's twice as much as a bowl if you order between the hours of 3 and 5 PM on weekdays. As I was about to leave, I wanted to get a water cup at the cooler by the front counter. There was a sticker that said "Do not touch" so I almost thought it'd be motion-sensored. Aaron noticed I was struggling with the cooler and offered to help. Turns out I had to hit the small button in the back. Then why would it have said "Do not touch"?! lol but he did mention I wasn't alone in that regard. He also asked how I liked the food. I replied by saying something the King of Soul (not Seoul lol) might say: "Seoul good!"Aaron at the front was fantastic, answering my multiple questions about the menu. Except I'm not sure what he was doing by the long community table with a bunch of cups of (soy?) sauce lying there? And I'm not sure why they even had that many cups in the first place, but his work ethic impressed me, which I don't say a whole lot in an era where it seemed like good customer service would come at a premium.I was also given a stamp card where you can get your 10th bowl free! A plate or dosirak would count towards the 10, but I'm not sure if the 10th can be one of those two?TL;DR: Seoul food from Seoul Bap is Seoul good, especially for your Seoul!

This little hole in the wall was okay, the service was pretty quick. You pay and then they bring out your food. I feel like I was just a little grossed out because there was a fly roaming around, which made it kind of hard to not wonder if there was flies in the back where the food was made. The food itself was bad tasting, I think it's a cute small business. It was a little pricy for what we got honestly.
