Finally got to try this popular spot and it definitely lived up to the hype! We made reservations, and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. There's parking but only a bit and hard to get in and out of the place. Service was excellent! Decor is also nice. A bit dark but it sets the mood. All of the dishes we tried were super tasty. We especially liked the smoked chicken and the scallops crudos. The drinks were also great and stiff. Definitely a place I would like to return to. Great for date night!

Selva was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Long Beach and this place deserves all the praise. The service, food, and overall vibe was exceptional - we made a reservation (highly recommend doing so) and ordered the market ceviche, Peruvian scallops, arroz chaufa, pork belly chicharron, patacón con hogao, and oblea for dessert.Everything tasted amazing and their cocktails are well-made / strong, my personal favorites were the Peruvian scallops and the arroz chaufa. I'm definitely planning to come back and try their other menu items.

Dined in on 11/15/24WOW. Just wow. A little hole in the wall looking spot from the outside on a 'not the greatest main street in Long Beach' is an absolute MUST. Looks are completely deceiving from the outside because this restaurant brings everything top tier. Colombian cuisine in the Zaferia District. Picture this: We had dinner so it was obviously night time. When I walked up to and into the restaurant, it felt like going into a busy but cozy L.A. or N.Y. restaurant. As soon as you walk in, the bar is right in front of you. Make a right and you're greeted with a beautiful dining area. The restaurant is a little dark just in case that's not your vibe. But the decor mixed with the houseplants, wood and the capiz and rattan lamp shades makes the place so beautiful and inviting. Now... on to the food. First off, we ordered drinks: I ordered a malbec to go with my steak. It was a party of 4 and we shared a little of everything. The ceviche: aji amarillo leche de tigre with avocados and served with plantain chips. This was really good and too beautiful to eat. But of course we ate it.Pork belly chicharron: Niman ranch pork belly - This was so good and we finished it so fast that I couldn't get a picture of it.Chuzos: skewered grilled meat with yeast butter. Very flavorful. I think you can get this as skewered veggies too. Farm Green Salad: mixed greens, Colombian farmers cheese, mixed market radishes, seasonal garnishes with cilantro buttermilk dressing. I didn't eat any but everyone else said it was good. Two orders of 24 oz rib eyes cooked perfectly. Yucca Fries seasoned with cumin, garlic and cilantroSpicy mushroom arroz chaufa which is Peruvian style fried rice. This was so bomb. I wanted to eat the entire thing but we were sharing. Didn't want to be stingy. LolEverything tasted delicious and the presentation was visually satisfying. Server was great in explaining the specials and the food off of the menu. Very attentive. She accidentally knocked over one of our water glasses but was so apologetic. No harm no foul. Overall, 10/10. We enjoyed our meal and the beautiful ambiance. Will be back for more of the Peruvian fried rice and will try their chicken wangs and pork chops.

Loved!Food was delicious, don't have a single bad thing to say about the food and service. Beautiful crafted tapas that also tastes amazing. We loved all the sauces that come with the food. Main dishes are also bomb, we lived the pork chop. Soo juicy and tender! Only thing I didn't love was the weird lighting, didn't really set the mood for a nice date night.

I've been wanting to try selva for a while now and finally got to try their happy hour (4-6 in the bar area) last week. Every dish was so good!! We tried the ceviche, wings, mushroom croquettes, pork belly chicharron, and the selva burger. The ceviche came with plantain chips which was a really good pairing. The croquettes were yummy and cheesy! The selva burger was honestly our favorite. It was valentines day so we also got the oysters with champagne + caviar. This was such a treat! They also had a Beachwood sour as one of their rotating beers, one of my favorites. Overall it was such a great night, the servers were nice and attentive as well. The restaurant was fully packed by the time we left so definitely recommend making a reservation. I can't wait to go back to try more dishes!

Food was really good! We came here on a Friday night, it is better to make reservation, luckily we were able to get a table. They have parking on site but also plenty of street parking. Recommend the yucca, mushrom croquettes. The ceviche was alright. The half smoked chicken was moist and juicy.

This is a small, cozy restaurant that we may have easily overlooked if it wasn't for the fact that we have friends in the area. I had a mocktail but judging from my friend's reactions the drinks were strong. The food was really good, everything we had was delicious. In particular, I liked the scallops, but my husband loved the fried rice with chorizo. I love plantains so that was a must try, and the arepas were smaller than expected but well deserving of the hype. The service was friendly too, I would definitely go back.

Went here the other day for an ad hoc date nite with the wife. She got the recommendation from a friend who typically offers up nice spots. We got there and made me think of how much I missed Long Beach. The vibe was chill. We sat at the bar and ordered off the menu. The drinks were good and the food amazing. The rice pot we ordered late but was maybe the best dish as well as the pork belly and mushroom croquet. Definitely would come back again and recommend to others for an adult group night out. Bartenders were legit who knew their drinks. Food service was good nothing out of the ordinary. Think this spot is worth supporting as it's everything you want in Long Beach.

If you have not been to Selva, you are missing out on some delicious food!I highly recommend to have a reservation - this place gets packed. We had to wait about 30 min for a table but it was absolutely worth it. It was super busy night and service was great. Guy behind bar came out to get our order for drinks and food! All dishes came out in about good amount of time. We ordered:Patacon Con Hogao: Just get this dish! Delicious!Peruvian Scallops: Wow! Absolutely delicious. The flavors, sauce, presentation - beautifully done.Pork Belly: Ok, if you like pork belly in general, this is the dish to try. It was made to its perfection. Arroz Chaufa Mushroom: This rice dish was amazing. Flavors, aromas, spices, and mushroom - it a must dish to try. All the dishes we ordered were cooked to its perfection and everything tasted delicious. I highly recommend this place and I will be coming soon to try other things on their menu.

Delicious and well-prepared South American cuisine with bold, authentic flavors. The dishes were thoughtfully crafted, using fresh ingredients and a nice balance of flavors. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was attentive. A great spot for a flavorful and enjoyable meal.
