What I love about Chinese food is the variety of dishes there are depending on the province/region the food is from. Undoubtedly SGV has the best and most varied Chinese restaurants but surprisingly the South Bay seems to have so many kinds of Asian cuisine it deserves being looked into. It is with this attitude we decided to take a chance a Seafood Town. Not bad but not great. The place has seen better days and looks/feels run down. Service is not great either, but it isn't bad..... not very courteous but efficient.Food, and the menu does give you a wide choice is typical Cantonese commercial fare. Good for big family table of 6 or more but honestly, I'd try somewhere else before coming back. Steamed fish was a bit over cooked and salted fish fried rice hardly had salted fish. The pork chop and shrimp were quite good.

First time back in the restaurant in years. This used to be on regular rotation with my family before the pandemic. We did a bunch of takeout in 2020 when everything was closed and then the hours were curtailed to the point that it became difficult to make it here.So when my mom said, "hey why don't we go back to Seafood Town" recently, I was in!Sadly, it doesn't seem like the same restaurant anymore (even though the inside is exactly the same). The dishes definitely weren't the same (as in, not as good), the staff who'd been there for years wasn't there any longer.Super bummed... but I guess in time things change. In this case, wasn't for the better. A number of these old South Bay Chinese restaurants seem to be going by the wayside and it's sad.

This is one of the few good Chinese restaurants in the area. I called in the order and the food was ready within 15 minutes. It was freshly made and super hot. We didn't sit down to eat, but the table and settings looked clean and put together. As a Chinese person, the environment was nostalgic and gave me that at-home feeling.Salt and pepper pork chop: certain areas had that beautiful, fatty flavor and texture while others were dry. Overall, it was fried evenly and seasoned well. I would order again :)Bok choy and mushrooms: definitely the star of the show! Perfectly done and the mushrooms were a nice touch. 100% recommendChow fun: pretty standard and nothing stand-out. Probably could've used a bit more salt, but that's an easy fix.Summary: I'll be coming back for how fresh and convenient it was. Perfect for sit down and takeout. I would rate it a 7.5/10

Honestly, not sure how I've never reviewed Seafood Town. I've been coming here with my family since I was a little kid and it never disappoints. It's important to know four things before coming to Seafood Town: 1) the food is delicious with huge portions, 2) the lunch special is an INCREDIBLE deal, 3) service is very quick, and 4) the restaurant interior has gotten a bit worse for wear over the years (do not expect a fancy restaurant). That being said, I always come for the lunch special which includes a hot and sour soup, entree, and dessert. This place makes the absolute BEST kung pao chicken; this is a must-get dish. I also love their spicy eggplant, garlic chicken, and beef chow fun dry style. Their beef and broccoli is not my favorite dish, but it's a good comfort option. The hot and sour soup is always steaming and a bit peppery. Love to sip the complimentary tea while eating, and the dessert is a great way to end a delicious meal!I come back to Seafood Town whenever I'm in Torrance and I can't wait to be back soon!

( 2.5 stars )OK experience I had ordering with seafood town. I had ordered a lot of things for Christmas dinner, where the pickup side of the order was completely fine. Food was ready after designated pickup time and I was in and out within five minutes. However, when attempting to place the pre-order, I had stood at the counter for 30 minutes before anyone came to help. Finally, after waiting thirty minutes, someone came and took my order, although they were juggling managing the sit-down tables as well. The service is partially understandable as we were approaching Christmas and they seemed pretty booked with in-restaurant reservations & online orders/calls, however the wait was uncalled for. The food is OK. nothing spectacular. It was alright. I'm unsure if we will cater from here next year.

Upgraded to 5 stars for the unbeatable value of lunch special (3 items for $38 total). This is now my go-to place for Chinese food in the South Bay after the closing of Seafood Port and Lee's Kitchen.

Ordered the lunch special Fish Black Bean Sauce. It was not hot and spicy. It was lukewarm at best or perhaps the sauce rather and very sticky compared to other black bean recipes. Service was fast but just regular. I waited years to come here thinking it would be some of the best food in the area and it was a big miss. Portion size was okay all things considered.

The people that work here are extremely unprofessional. I was hoping to try this restaurant for the first time today. I found it on a thread of restaurants open for Christmas in the South Bay. I called many times over the course of an hour trying to place an order. Their website lists two phone numbers. Since I wasn't getting an answer from the first one, I called the 2nd one. It sounds like the 2nd one is a mobile number. Well they turned the phone off after I called it so it just started going to a mobile voicemail. Finally I got someone to answer the first one and before I could even get a word in, a lady yelled at me "YOU NO CALL AGAIN" and started slamming the phone over repeatedly on to the receiver. Seriously wtf?????Look I know it's a holiday. I know you may be busy with orders and maybe you don't want any more customers for the day. Why can't you just pick up the phone and say that? I love Chinese food and I had never tried your restaurant. I certainly won't give yours another chance after the person answering the phone acted like a toddler because I was simply trying to give you some business. Grow up.

The Chicken Lo Mien is good at all...they just tossed the noodles with no taste. Servers are not welcoming and think you own them for eating there! The place needsmore lights and shirt of cleanliness.
