I been coming here for years I give it 10/10 Family friendly I bring my kids here weekdays they do card after 8pm on weekends the staff is friendly very professional polite The owner is Dean very nice man as well I never seen any conflicts Always positive vibes highly recommend this spot .. As of lately I been seeing a change also on reviews don't let the new bartender (Deans Wife) discourage you the first time I met her I went w family was at the Bar Dean took my order I introduced my aunt and cousins to Dean saying he's the owner shortly after a women came to my table far right corner near enterance asking how do you know my husband I asked who is your husband she replied Dean I responded oh I been coming here for years since I was a teen she was very rude till this day she is still rude unprofessional.. I really hope Dean realizes and keeps her at home before he loses business that women needs to not run his years of hard work so sad...but please don't let this discourage you Overall Kool Spot Kool Vibes A+

I've had my fair share of bad experiences, but nothing even comes close to how hostile and disrespectful my date and I were treated here. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was off--like we were being judged before we even had a chance to settle in.The first red flag was the male bartender. He barely acknowledged us when we asked a simple question. We were new to the place, and just trying to get a feel for the layout, but he acted like we were a major inconvenience. He didn't even try to make us feel comfortable--just cold, dismissive, and annoyed by our presence.Then it escalated. We were trying to play darts, and I needed a dollar. The bar was poorly lit, no bartender was in sight, and the place was dead silent. I saw the tip jar on the counter and, figuring it was just a quick trade, took a few quarters to exchange for a dollar. I didn't think it was a big deal--after all, the money was just going to be traded for cash anyway, right?Big mistake. I went to the bathroom, and when I came out, I was met with the female bartender, who was suddenly all over us like a hawk. She told my date we had to leave because "she had me on camera." At that point, I was in complete disbelief. She was accusing me of stealing over a single dollar, despite the fact that I'd been standing at the bar waiting for someone to come out for a while. If I was really trying to steal, why would I only take a dollar and then immediately return it? The whole thing didn't make sense--and neither did her aggressive behavior.But she wasn't having it. Instead of listening to any explanation, she just charged over, kicked us out, and didn't even give us a chance to explain ourselves. It was clear from the get-go that she wasn't interested in anything but throwing us out. Her attitude was hostile, defensive, and dismissive. It felt like she was looking for any excuse to accuse us of something, and it didn't take long to realize this wasn't about the dollar--it was about the color of our skin.When I came back later, hoping to at least explain myself, I told her the reason I took the quarters was because the lights behind the bar were off and I couldn't see anyone to ask for a dollar. She shut me down immediately, claiming there were no lights. But funny enough, when I came back much later, those lights were blindingly bright--clearly switched on after the fact. They had to have known what they were doing.I'm no fool. This wasn't just a misunderstanding--it was a deliberate, racially charged move to treat us like criminals from the moment we walked in. If we had been white, I have no doubt the situation would've been handled completely differently. But we weren't, and that made all the difference. The racism was palpable and blatant.I left a $10 tip because, frankly, I feel bad for the bartender. But make no mistake, that was the last dime I'll ever spend in that place. This kind of hostile, racist treatment has no place anywhere, and I won't stand for it. I'd advise anyone to stay far, far away from this establishment. There are plenty of other bars that know how to treat their customers with respect--this one isn't worth the hassle.

I lived in La Mirada for a good decade and never came across Scratch. Now in my 30s I enjoy a more Divey, low key means of spending a Friday Night. Scratch Billiards is a wonderful establishment, amazing beer selection and numerous pool tables to keep you entertained. Stay tuned for a food review! Food: We ordered a combo pizza: pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onion and mushroom. The pizza was good and tasty, would preferred a longer cook time/well done pizza to add a nice char to the cheese, crust and veggies but was pleased with the product.

My boyfriend and I came here for a fun date night and Scratch delivered. It was pretty poppin' and packed but we sat at the bar. It was the night before St. Patrick's Day so we drank green beer which was the goal of the evening. They have a huge beer selection so if you're a beer person, you should check it out. We ate chicken tenders that were delicious and the service was great. We did play pool towards the end of the night. I can definitely see us coming back.

I'm drinking a green beer with my beautiful girlfriend here at Scratch. The beer here is cold and and we are having a blast.

Catching up on reviews and Scratch was one place I could not forget. The Mozzarella Sticks are a tasty quick snack to get while shooting some pool with your buddies on a Friday Night. Overall good service and just a chill atmosphere you can enjoy!

This review is long overdue!!!! I love this place me and my husband found this spot about 5 yrs ago and no matter how many billiards we've been to we always come back to this location. It's always such a fun time coming here you can play music through the app or on the digital "juke box" on the wall (next to the darts area). They have "appetizers" I put quotations because although they are appetizers they are a pretty good portion pretty much a meal the drinks are good they changed them often but it keeps it refreshing to have something new on the menu keeps it fun not boring. Overall such a great time bartenders are always so fun super nice overall the service is always great every single time we've been there. We've kind of made a tradition of coming here on our anniversary because it's just soo chill and awesome

Laid back spot. Good music, billiards and beers!We've been here a few times over the years, and it never disappoints. The drinks are always cold, and there is plenty of billiard tables for everyone to play.It is located near a university so there is a young crowd most of the time, but don't let that deter you. Also, they have a juke box that you can pay for songs to play. I have been here multiple times where some of the songs that have been chosen are... well quite unusual.

I went on a week day and it was pretty empty but started filling up as it got later. The bartenders were very nice and attentive, they let me and my girlfriend sample a few beers till we found the ones we liked. . . Which was Very Nice! We played a few games of darts and left. The vibe was chill, I wish it was a little more hyped and the music was a bit louder but then again it was a weekday. I'll have to visit again on the weekend and maybe It will be a 5 star place. But overall it was Great. We will likely visit again!

Immediately as we got there "Alley" was very rude and gave so much attitude then she later over charged us 2 pitchers of beer and then laughed in our faces when we told her. Then was talking about checking the cameras in front of us.I don't think this is the proper way of dealing with something as such especially if she's " management" very childish and unprofessional for this business does not look good. Will not come back just because of her, gets one star.
