If you're looking for a no-frills old-fashioned Italian restaurant, then look no further than Scardino's. We came here on a Thursday night and it was pretty packed, which is a good sign. It looks like the restaurant is frequented by regulars, which is another good sign. We were seated immediately and the service was outstanding. We had the Calamari Marinara as a starter and the Linguine Pescatore and the Lobster Ravioli as entrees. The entrees were both outstanding choices. The starter was a little different than what I was used to, but really enjoyed the marinara sauce. It was a hair saltier than I'd like but still very good. The Linguine Pescatore was outstanding and reminded me of a thicker Ciopino. It was full of seafood and really flavorful. The Lobster Ravioli was very delicious as well. There's not much more to say but that it really hit the spot. Overall, lovely neighborhood Italian place and would come back again. Easy parking too.

We gave Scardino's a shot for dinner with our family recently and it was a hit! While it's certainly American Italian and not exactly authentic, we all thoroughly enjoyed our massive portions of both veal and chicken parmigiana and spaghetti alla carbonara. The mozzarella pizza was also surprisingly tasty with a thick, gooey cheese layer and lightly chewy crust.A great option for families and any larger gathering.

Had the baked rigatoni with mushrooms added. Waiter couldn't find it on the menu. When he did find it with help, I asked him what was in it. He told me to read the menu to find out. The added mushrooms were placed on top of the dish instead of baked into it? Suggests the dish was pre-made and frozen. Like most $$ Italian restaurants, the garlic bread was a joke; thinly sliced sandwich roll charred on the bottom with garlic butter on top. Authentic garlic bread is becoming a rare commodity. The place was rather well attended: 25-minute wait for seating on Saturday night. Typical family Italian style seating and decor. We got a bad draw next to a 70-ish Italian guy with his 20-ish hooker girl-date. Seating is somewhat tight and intimate so your draw is important. The rigatoni, was probably 3*; the garlic bread 1*; the service 2.5*; the ambience 2* with the tight seating. It's a one-and-done for me. I had higher hopes.

Was just okay. It's been before Covid since we've been in. Used to go once every other month or so. My wife loves that they had a combo chicken / eggplant parmigiana on the dinner menu. This time, we went for lunch as we had an errand to run on Hawthorne Blvd. Figured it's been years, let's go enjoy it again. One thing we didn't notice and didn't ask about was that the lunch menu doesn't offer all the items as dinner. I'm guessing you would be able to order a dinner portion but we didn't think about it until after our food came. First thing we noticed, on the menu, that the chicken/eggplant parmigiana was not listed. She was okay with that, decided just the get the eggplant. Over the years, I have developed a stomach issue to red sauce (I know, it's killing my mouth and tastebuds to have to deal with this...). So I tried the four cheese tortellini. As you might see in my pictures, it was a bit soupy for me, even before I added a little parmigiana on one half (so I could see which one I liked more). I wasn't thrilled with the flavor on either half. Had a lot of sauce, just not a lot of flavor. Next thing we learned is that the lunch eggplant parm entree is an a la carte entree - no pasta. So I asked to order a side but the server said they didn't have that and suggested I order another entree. Well, eggplant parm, or chicken parm for that matter, is always better with a side of pasta. So I ordered it. Wound up getting and paying for three entrees which wasn't what I expected. Overall, we were a bit disappointed that it didn't live up to our previous experiences but it was crowded. So we may be outliers or we just ordered the wrong items. They have been there for years, maybe decades, so it may be worth a try. Hope you pick the right item and...enjoy!!!

Scardino's feels like I'm stepping in to The Godfather movie, Louis Italian restaurant in the Bronx (only based on the decor). I didn't try the veal but I did get the combination plate which had lasagna and spaghetti with meatball and sausage, which I loved. The spaghetti was cooked Al dente and the meatball and sausage taste homemade. The lasagna was cheesy and delicious. The garlic bread is ok but it's unlimited. The server was great and she checked up on us from time to time. I I'm definitely going back to try other items from the menu.

Today was a train wreck! I went online to their website to find something new and place my order. It started with the gentleman answering the not being able to hear every other word to me getting my food that was wrong. I come to find out there web needs updating and nothing is the same. When i got home and noticed i got the wrong food then i called to hear the following.. oh yeah the web is wrong. Then i had to reorder my food and drive back to this place. I have been dining here for years but clearly need to move away. Waste of $50 dollars for one meal!!

This is a wonderful local Italian restaurant that has the feeling of a sweet authentic eatery. All the dishes boast ingredients that are fresh and specific to classic Italian fare. We met here after a concert to celebrate and loved the garlic bread, chicken piccata and sausage with peppers. The service was also outstanding and the look and style of the restaurant also made it feel like we were walking into Italy.

A cozy, family friendly Italian restaurant in Torrance. I went here right before a flight and this place filled me up. Portions are huge, so definitely meant to be shared. I tried the calamari appetizer which is not fried, which is nice, with a pretty solid tomato sauce. The tomato sauce I tried from the pasta is not that good, though. I also got the vodka pasta with seafood which is fresh shrimp and scallops. Quite heavy so I got full after eating half and got the rest to-go. Service is good, just requires a bit of flagging to fulfill requests.
