The bread is best when you arrive early morning or before 7 pm for the evening pan dulce to accompany your cafecito. Sometimes there's a line but moves fairly quick. The bakery front counter is fairly small and ever since COVID they only allow about 6 people at a time. Enjoy !

I recently moved to Compton and you'd think we'd find the usual Tacos and Good Mexican Bread. Unfortunately no luck. The bread is hard and not tasty and definitely does not taste fresh. I rather drive 11 miles for the best Bakery in Lennox. If you are looking for fresh, good quality, good Mexican bread and good attitude, try Sophia's Bakery formerly Mimas (Inglewood Ave and Century). I 100000% recommend.

My first memories of San Antonio Bakery are rooted in the 1980s, but it's been around since something like the 1960s. My parents remember going to this bakery when they were young! So, yes, my family would visit this family-owned panaderia for the conchas and this round, jelly topped pan. I don't recall the name of that particular bread, but the best way to eat it was round and round until you reached the center, which you would devour in one big messy bite. On the recent visit, they did not have them on display. But I was glad to see they had cochitos, bolillo and lots of different types of cookies and muffins. Here, they also sell sodas, chips and a range of spices, like cinnamon, dried chili peppers, chamomile, bay leaves and oregano. They also sell dried fruits, nuts, candy and juice.

This bread is really good! There is always a line in the morning but usually when i go around 7 there is no line. The bread is really affordable. You can buy like 10 pieces if bread for 12 bucks. Nothing really beats that. The elotitos are really moist. Those are my fav!
