A great breakfast. Service was helpful and fast, and the restaurant is minimalist and utilitarian but clean. Plenty of free parking in the lot or on the street. For some, this location might be slightly hard to find, but it's next door to the Tin Lizzie and right off Bristol. At the recommendation of the staff, I tried their breakfast burrito. Huge, packed with flavor, and an awesome choice. Can't wait to come back and try their sandwiches!

Came here on a Monday holiday morning to grab breakfast. Parking is a little tight in the whole block so plan ahead. Menu is simple which is great for people who have trouble deciding like me. Ordered and grabbed a table outside as inside is cozy and there weren't any tables open. I got the basic breakfast bacon, eggs and pancakes. Everything was just right- I like how the pancakes have a bite to them. Service was friendly and efficient. My only sad note is I would have to go inside for coffee refills... that's just me needing an drip of coffee

We always love Rooster Cafe! Great staff and unbeatable breakfast burritos. Even when they've super busy they're cool and professional, and their order timelines are accurate.Roosters one of my favorite places to take out of town business folks to breakfast too, a great casual SoCal fare with awesome customer service and a fun environment.

I was there at 12:30 today and I was worried that it would be too busy. But, while they were definitely busy, I got served right away. Had the Cobb Salad, very fresh, tomatoes were surprisingly ripe for the season. Ranch tasted like it was in-house made, and HUGE. first time eating there, I will be back.

Rooster Café gives diner vibes and I'm here for it.I ordered the breakfast burrito ($13.25). It comes with scrambled eggs, hash browns, shredded cheddar cheese and your choice of bacon or Portuguese sausage (half and half for me). I am generally suspicious of breakfast burritos that don't get grilled. This one didn't get the grill marks, but it most definitely passed the slippery tortilla test. I loved the combination of Portuguese sausage and bacon because it kept the burrito from tasting monotonous. Good egg scramble and crispy hashbrowns rounded out an excellent breakfast burrito. They also have a solid burger situation here. The California burger ($13.75) was giving what it needed to give. It's a ground beef patty, avocado, bacon, Cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion + tomato. The patty was perfectly charred and the iceberg lettuce, onion, and tomato was oh so crispy. Delish. Breakfast or lunch, Rooster's got you covered. It's fast and easy if you're looking for a a quick bite to eat.

If you have a dairy allergy or you're lactose intolerant, this isn't the place for you. Most of the food items have dairy in it, they even put dairy in their eggs for some reason. When I asked for my eggs without butter, they sort of scoffed at me like I was crazy to not want extra cholesterol in my eggs. Overall this place isn't bad, but it also isn't special. They have a disgusting amount of cooked potatoes sitting above the flat top just waiting to be reheated for customers. While I'm sure this is commonplace in the food industry, it's pretty off-putting when you have an open kitchen and all of the customers can see it.This was one of the more unfortunately bad breakfast places we went to. The customer service was poor and the food was mid. There weren't many tables inside and we found ourselves eating in the cold because of the size of the interior of the restaurant. This has a more dive type feel (which is what we would prefer), but there were too many other negatives to the place to have us ever return.

While in CA recently I stumbled across this gem when searching for nearby breakfast spots and YELP did not disappoint in directing me to it!You order upfront and your food is delivered to you via a number wherever you choose to sit. Service was extremely fast and the staff was attentive and very nice. The food was excellent and the pricing was great considering portion and quality. They also have outdoor seating so you can enjoy the Cali sun while enjoying your meal! Definitely would recommend and will revisit next time in OC!

This little breakfast spot is a hidden gem...literally. The Rooster is tucked away in a shopping center next to a barber shop. The portions are large, and everything was delicious. My husband and I were in the mood for waffles so we both ordered the St.Clair Waffle combo. The waffle was HUGE but the best part was the Portuguese sausage. They are only open until 2pm, so make sure you get there early. It gets very crowded.BONUS: They source 96% of their ingredients from local farmers markets.

We were in the area and decided to give it a go for lunch. Rooster Cafe is a great little unassuming place that serves up some great food and good vibes. It's one of the places the locals know. The drill is you order at the counter, they give you a number on a stick, and they bring the food to your table when your food is ready. It works. Breakfast is served all day, but I chose the tuna sandwich served with fries. The sandwich was very good. I wanted something light, and it did the trick. The fries were OK, but that's true of a lot of places. No alcohol is served if that matters to you. Pro tip: There are lots of other places for day drinking in Costa Mesa. In any event, it was a nice lunch, and I'm glad we stopped in.
