Very first shisen ramen that has been served ever since Ajido has established. Bok Choi and napa cabbage are in the spicy chicken based soup. You can choose a spicy level from 1 up to 10.

Service is quick and efficient. It's a very small shop - more so a place to get a quick meal. The ramen we ordered had good broth and was very flavorful. The noodle texture was great especially the thicker ones. The fried rice was nice too and portion sizes for the rice were generous. Wish the ramen did come with a bit more meat though. Overall, would come back!

Killer ramen. My fav in the LA area. Prices are fair. Broth is fantastic. Noodles are bouncy. Beer is ice cold. Service is quick and not annoying. The black shisen ramen is out of this world.

Ok so I have to preface this with saying this review is mainly for the service. The food is absolutely awesome........if they get it right......my wife and I are locals and we LOVED to come to this place every week because it's been the best ramen we have had in a long time and the waitress Monique was awesome. But ever since she was forced out by the owner (there's truth behind this, the owner has tried multiple times to do this with her and the cooking staff in the past, I talk to all of the staff there) and replaced with someone who speaks fluent Japanese but hardly any English the service has dropped. The only reason I bring that up because I've noticed the language barrier is difficult to overcome with him. The guy is ALWAYS getting something wrong with orders. This is 4th time I've come in (in a row) where something is wrong with my order. Today I ordered a Shisen Paiko ramen and this guy got me a Shisen Coconut.. I had to explain to the guy for like a minute that I ordered a Shisen paiko until finally he understood (at-least I thought he did). So I try not to be difficult, I just go ahead and eat the Shisen coco cause it's still good and he brings me the paiko. I then get the bill and he ended up charging extra for the paiko that I had ORIGINALLY ordered to begin with. So I get my order wrong AND get charged extra for what I should have gotten to begin with? Yeah not cool. Do yourself a favor, if you're going to order from here, just do delivery or pickup, that way you can get your order correct.

Ate lunch here and not quite up to the standards one would expect to get in the south bay. Tonkotsu ramen soup was a bit bland and chashu was flavorless. The karaage appetizer was decent though. Service could be friendlier and atmosphere could be improved.

Always such a good experience coming here. The restaurant is small but cozy, and intimate lighting. We usually sit at the bar area and are served pretty quickly. All of the broths here are super delicious. This time the meat wasn't that tender and a bit difficult to chew. Its usually a one person show and gets pretty busy at night, but they always take our order promptly and the food is out in no time. One of my favorite ramen spots around here.

Just left after a good dinner tonight, 8/31/24. Service was good. They have a new staff serving. He was nice and efficient. For being a one person team, he covered the whole restaurant by himself. The food was good except one complaint, please take it easy on black pepper! Omg, every order had tons of black pepper. The ika (squid) was especially peppery. It was good in spite of the amount of black pepper bc it was crispy and fresh. Everything was fresh. Ambiance was relaxing.

Went here for lunch around 1pm and there was no wait at all. They updated their menu. I usually get the Red Miso Ramen, which is my absolute favorite. With the menu change, the ramen is now named the "spicy Rich miso ramen" instead of the red ramen, so I mistakenly ordered the Red Shisen Ramen, but it was cool to try something new for a change. For the Red Shisen Ramen, they had me choose the spice level. I got Level 1, which already had a good kick to it! If you're not good with spice, then this one definitely isn't for you. The flavor was alright. I honestly prefer their miso based broth. I added a flavored egg for 2.50 and I was so disappointed. Usually the egg is soft boiled, but today, the yolk was cooked well done all the way through. The egg didn't taste flavored either. I've gotten their flavored egg before and it has always been perfectly cooked and has the soft yolk, so today must have been an off day. Will definitely have to come back for the Rich miso ramen, but I'll probably skip the egg next time!
