Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

The fried chicken continues to be consistently good at Popeyes.The last time we actively went to a Popeyes was when the chicken sandwich 'wars' were happening, and we determined that the Popeye spicy version was the best. This time, we saw that they had created a version of their value meal, 3 dark pieces of chicken (wing, drumstick, thigh) for a flat $5, so decided to give it a try. This location is located on 7th street, in downtown Long Beach.We got there soon after it opened, and it was already fairly busy. Popeyes has a good mobile app, and it allowed us to order and pay before we got to the restaurant. They have three kiosks inside, where you can place your order. Like McDonalds, they have two monitors telling you that your order had been taken and telling you that it is ready. For mobile orders, it has your name next to your order number for easy identification. The food was soon ready and I picked it up in front. It had been well packaged, ready for a food delivery, but we decided to eat half of it in the dining room. The chicken was quite good, medium size pieces that were very hot and oily, crunchy on the outside, and moist and flavorful on the inside. We got the spicy version, and we didn't find it very spicy. They do not have a self-serve soda machine, so had to ask for tap water from the water counter (which they had no problem doing).Prices have gone up quite a bit. For example, a 16 piece family meal with 3 sides is now well over 50 dollars before tax. So definitely worthwhile to look for a paper coupon (we get those sent to our home once a month or so) or get a value meal.

I went against my better judgement and placed an online order for this location since it was the closest to me. When I arrived my order was not ready at all and I was told that they were all out of French fries for the day and asked what other sides I wanted instead (which were still incorrect once I got home and checked the bag). While waiting in the lobby with my child, I was approached by the homeless man who was standing outside the restaurant when I arrived. I explained to him that I could not help him and continued to wait for my order. He did not leave the lobby and kept harassing me about buying him something while the employee just watched. After a few minutes she told him that he had two more minutes before they would take any action to remove him from the lobby..wth As a paying customer with a child, I should not have to be harassed INSIDE of a restaurant while waiting for my order!! This is definitely my last time purchasing anything at this location.

Once again our takeout order was incorrect. We ordered two Three piece meals and got two two piece meals. We have to learn to check everything before leaving this Popeyes!

Tracy was awesome. I had trouble with the kiosk. She went out of her way to assist me. Great customer service. She was sweet and very courteous. She also informed me of the best deal for my purchase. Great job Tracy. Keep up the great service.

We live in a world where Popeyes cost LESS than McDonalds! I'm obsessed with their flounder sandwich. Sadly it's only for limited time. The service was very quick and I didn't wait around too long. It's in the heart of downtown Long Beach so be prepared to people watch!

I order 4 pic chicken but they give me only 2 pic and charge full price and the food was cool And I try to call the store no one responds my call This is I am not recommended sorry to say that

They got my takeout order wrong.I paid extra for cheese and bacon on my sandwich and they gave me the wrong item.The chicken was dry and not seasoned well.Whaaaaack.

Great service and always fresh chicken. Personell are nice and experts on deals to help out people with less money on hand to get good amount of food and pay less.

On 11/23/24 got food poisoning from their chicken both me and my family member have been very sick with stomach issues ever since, I tried calling and to report it to them and no one picks up the phone!!!! Do NOT eat the food here unless you want to be violently ill.

I'm not surprised this places has two stars. I went on 10/9/2024 @5:45pm. The worker there tells me she can't take my order and I have to use the Kiosk. I had issues with the Kiosk and another worker there was very rude and made me feel like I didn't know what I was doing. Long story short both workers at around that time provided very poor customer service and assistance. Instead of just taking my order seeing I was having difficulty they could care less. I guess they'd rather see customers leave and go elsewhere than provide at a minimum good customer service. Fortunate for me a block up the street in downtown Long Beach there are various other fast food places to eat. I would avoid this place and I won't be returning and telling all my friends and family to avoid this place. You can get better food and customer service elsewhere.
