First things first. Check in through Yelp and you can get a free fountain drink. My review is based on Pinoy Pinay being a fast food restaurant.Pinoy Pinay. What is there to say about this longstanding hole in the wall that hasn't already been said? After decades of serving the community some of the best Filipino fast food, they thrive because their food is good. As other restaurants in the plaza come and go, Pinoy Pinay has been there. Perfect location for Sunday lunch for church goers. It's a "point point" restaurant where you simply point at the food you want. Their menu changes every day. So there's always some variety to the options you have each time you visit. One day you can order sisig (crispy pork bits, onions, chiles, and citrus) and kare kare (Philippine's take on curry using a thick savory peanut sauce), then bbq on a stick and lechon kawali (crispy deep fried pork ~ best eaten with some Mang Tomas lechon sauce) the next time. They have 2 main combo selections to choose from. Pinay combo is rice with 1 regular item and 1 special entree. Pinoy Pinay combo is rice with 2 special entrees. There's a very fair amount of regular and special entrees to choose from. It's big enough to handle large groups, but it does get crowded and I can't say I've ever tried to reserve seats to confirm if that's possible. They have a couple TV's which usually has Filipino shows. The restaurant is very casual and roomy. Pinoy Pinay has also made their name with their catering. Great place to get your staple Filipino food: lumpia, pancit and adobo. Recently I've seen some of my friends make comments about how their food has fallen off, but for me and my family, we've always had good experience. We have family that visits from Lake Elsinore and they order only from Pinoy Pinay for lunch with the grandkids and food to take back with them. Pinoy Pinay, I was once your "Duke" and it's been a long time coming for this review. I'll always be a loyal customer. You've always done right by me and my family. Thanks for serving our community all these years with great Filipino food!

11/1/24 Miss this SO much, adobong puso ng saging (banana blossom adobo)--the tang, it's something I have cooked in the past (very time-consuming) but would prefer to just buy now.Took my parents here for lunch, a late birthday celebration for my mom. (They picked this place). We go in line, pick ("turo" or "point") to the cooked food that's ready to eat, pay & find a table, sit & enjoy. We got combos with: Beefsteak, ginisang sayote, menudo, banana blossom adobo (puso ng saging, paksiw na bangus for mom, kare-kare, pork bbq for dad, for dessert we shared ginataan (camote, banana, mochi balls, jackfruit cooked in sweetened coconut milk). Everything was on point but mom complained that the milkfish was overcooked & it was sour enough. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed my adobong puso ng saging. Wowzah! Staff for the most part are friendly & attentive (the ones serving the food at the counter) with the exception of the cashier (not sure if it's the same person all these years but most staff at the cashier seem to skimp on the friendliness experience--you would think they'd be the most gracious in thanking & showing gratitude to the customers who keep them employed?). The food is close to 5 stars but the customer service? It needs work, just a smile & a sincere "thank you" would definitely up the whole experience. The restaurant is fairly clean. Visiting the restrooms on the other hand, was a bit disappointing, the toilet was close to overflowing (I wish I did not look). I just needed was to wash my hands thankfully! Informed an employee & was eventually fixed. My mom did say that when flushing, it was sluggish--probably the reason of the clog. You may eat in, there is indoor dining, lots of tables/chairs, booths. To-go & catering available, desserts too. Don't forget to order halo-halo!. No outdoor dining. There's 0.50 charge/fee for every ATM, cards. Parking is plentiful, shared among lots of businesses. Price point, fair $64 for 4 combos, with leftovers (another meal)

Home cooked food at its finest! We come here if we're lazy to cook. Reminds me of my family's cooking. Everything is cooked fresh. Soup is delicious! I love their Kari Kari! Can't wait to eat there again!

Came here for early dinner as we were next door working and were a bit hungry. My friends and I stopped by and wow, we loved the portions and the food here was just delicious! If it is your first time having Philipino food, I would recommend looking at the menu first and figuring out what you would like beforehand since the foods aren't labeled. There is plenty of seating for you to enjoy your meal. I would say that it has good and fast comfort food. The staff is also very nice, so if you have any questions they are happy to help!

Food: the best Filipino food I've had. My family is Vietnamese, so I don't get to have this as often as I like. When I come, it tastes good and hits home every time. Service: it's like a Chinese restaurant where they put all the selections in front of you and a plate will get you 2 entrees. There is usually no line when we come in and they get your food out fast.Ambiance: it's clean inside, it's also located in a busy plaza with tons of parking available.

Some of the best fast casual Filipino food can be found right here at Pinoy Pinay! This spot has been a staple in the community for years now and is located in the same plaza where the Sprouts is. There are a good amount of parking spots here as well.Once you walk in, you basically start waiting in line to approach the counter where all the foods are. They have such a wide variety of things to choose from including kare kare, bistek, monggo, bangus, bbq skewers, lechon kawali, chicken skin, and more! You can opt for a combo with 1 item or a combo with 2 items (each combo comes with 3 hefty scoops of rice). They have a lot of seating here as well since it tends to be a popular place for families to gather for lunch and dinner. It can get pretty busy here during peak hours, but the staff are very friendly and helpful. Whenever I'm craving some home style authentic Filipino food, this is one of the first spots that comes to mind!

The food was pretty reasonably priced. $32 for two 2 item with special combo. The bistek was pretty good. Meat was tender and not too salty. I would appreciate more onions though. The gata was pretty good as well. Lechon kawali was worth paying a few more $. The caldereta was a bit confusing as it tasted like mechado. We weren't too impressed with that dish. I love the free coffee and appreciate the complimentary soup. The service was exceptional. Everyone was friendly and efficient. I have been to the one in Las Vegas but it's nothing compared to the service I had experience here in Cerritos location. The ambiance is clean and inviting. Location has enough parking for all the businesses.I do would like for them to use non styrofoam containers as it is not eco friendly in the near future.

Filipino food cravings for lunch and we went here ... SARAP!!! I love the portions here, they give you extra soup with soup dishes and it's perfect for sharing! The dining area is clean and spacious. The restroom is well kept. Parking is easy since it's in a shopping lot plaza and the ladies behind the counter are helpful and friendly. Service is efficient, they always get the line of guests moving quick. Always a nice visit and will definitely come back again!

Disappointed, the food today just wasn't as good as I remembered. Maybe because we showed up at 6pm and they close at 7pm? But isn't that a normal dinner time? We had kare-kare, lechon and dinuguan. Bummed that they ran out of adobo. Seemed like the food had been sitting out there for a while. Next time will either come earlier or just go to a restaurant that cooks to order.
