First time here!Entrees are around the $15-20 price point. Pretty good tasting. Meals come on a sizzling plate and there are instructions to smash the rice to continue cooking your rice and protein to desired levels. I like the rice a little crispy. There are also garlic and sweet sauce tableside. We got the karaage curry and the classic pepper chicken. The chicken pepper was peppery but the chicken itself tasted plain. The garlic sauce helped! Karaage chicken curry was savory. You can order off the screens or just talk to the cashier. The restaurant is in a busy strip mall with lots of other Asian restaurants so be prepared to hunt for spots at busy times.

The portion sizes are HORRIBLE. It's 80% rice and 20% protein. I ordered salmon, but tell me WHY the salmon was so small I couldn't even find the pieces around the skillet. The size of the salmon is something I would feed my Senior aged DOG. DO NOT go here. You will waste your money. Lack of flavor and microscopic portion sizes. This place is a RIP OFF and SCAM. You're better off spending your money somewhere else for a decent size serving. I will never ever be coming back again.

Pepper Lunch is one of my go to spots in Artesia! I love that the food comes out sizzling, the flavor is amazing, and overall you cannot go wrong when ordering from here.Service is very fast even on their busiest days (they get quite busy). Your food is brought to you and it is always perfect.Ample seating, right next to a boba shop in case you want to grab a drink afterwards.Highly recommend trying it.10/10

We eat here a lot. A go-to for our family. Food is delicious, portions are large usually we have to take some to go. Counter service but friendly. Mbiance is relaxed and casual. Fairly small inside but they have outdoor seating if needed. Terrific noodle dishes imo!

This place is good for a quick but decent meal. The restaurant is in a busy plaza, and the parking spots are so tight - it's really common (and annoying) to see people double parked.I felt pressure and urgency to try to place an order quickly. However they only have two menu panels by the door. When I asked the cashier about any promotions, she graciously explained that you get a free side (with purchase of two entrees) for checking in on Yelp. After paying, you get a number and find a seat. They bring the food to your table. I got a well-done ribeye steak for $35 T.T If it wasn't left sizzling for so long, I feel like I could have enjoyed it more. The steak came with some veggies. The garlic chips and butter were the only good things on this dish. Very disappointing.

I came here for dinner and at that time there were only 3 other tables seated. Not a lot of people, so we got seated promptly. The servers and front desk are friendly! But if there is a wait, they have giant menus that you can view right as you step through the doors. I ordered the classic beef pepper rice. I thought it wasn't worth it. It does come out sizzling hot and oil will be splashing, so don't wear something too nice. This is all very pretty, but I thought the plate lacked flavor. They do have sauces on the side so definitely use those. I was most disappointed about only getting 7-8 pieces of beef. For almost $20, I wanted more. Overall, this place isn't for me. It's too simple versus the cost. It is something I can easily recreate with my cast iron at home.

If you are craving for a sizzling plate of good meat over a bed rice with room good pepper infused flavors - this is where you need to come.Pepper lunch has become my goto spot for a quick lunch bite whenever I am craving for a quick Asian meal. I always get their standard sizzling bowl and it never disappoints. Service is always on the mark and the restaurant is well laid out with a good casual vibe.

Wanted to try this place out because I kept hearing about it and am not originally from the area. It's about what I expected and nothing more. The place looks clean and large and there were a few staff running around.Came for an early dinner so plenty of space and quickly got settled after ordering the classic beef pepper rice. Flavor was decent, you get some veggies, some grain, some protein. I wish they had more sauce though. For the price, I don't think it was that great but it's a quick, hot lunch.

This chain will probably be a one and done place for me. It wasn't impressive at all. I wanted to grab a quick lunch before heading to the cafe to get work done. Upon entering it looked like a restaurant because there was a wait to be seated sign. Since I didn't want the full service I decided to togo my order. I ordered the shrimp pepper rice and the seaweed shake salad which both came out to $20. While waiting I decided to just go ahead and stay to eat my lunch. When my order came out I was disappointed to see that it was more like shrimp fried rice. While I was okay with my order not coming out in a sizzling plate, the order I got looked completely different from what is advertised. After a few bites I decided to ask a worker about it and she mentioned "togo orders have a big difference than sit in orders". Yes, I can clearly see that but why? I wish they didn't mix my food before putting it in a container. If I wanted fried rice I could make it at home and if I wanted nearly $20 fried rice I would rather go get the shrimp fried rice from din tai fung. Sigh. I ate half my portion and saved the other half for a quick bite the next morning because I didn't want to waste food, but its safe to say I won't be back. 2 stars for the normal service and okay tasting food, but definitely not what I expected.

Growing up, whenever me and my siblings mentioned Pepper Lunch, my frugal Asian mom always said we could make it at home. After trying it, I kinda agree. The big pro of Pepper Lunch is the experience of having the food served on a hot stone plate. I got the Classic Beef Pepper Rice (no added toppings) and added the sauce + pepper provided. For the price of $13.99, I thought the flavor was kinda plan, nothing too special. Good and tasty, but nothing notable and mostly rice. I might feel differently if I added toppings, but I'm not sure it's quite worth it considering the costs of toppings which would probably bring the cost to $20+. I wouldn't mind trying it again or going with friends who enjoy it, but not one of my first picks.
