Olives Gourmet Grocer

Stopped by to pick up lunch after seeing multiple recommendations on Facebook about this place . I ordered the spicy combo Italian sandwich. This sandwich was simple yet tasted so amazing and the bread was delicious and tasted as if it was just freshly made.Boyfriend ordered the Santa Fe sandwich and said it was really good Inside is small, right when you walk in is the counter to place your order. After ordering we decided to walk around the grocery area to see what they had. Mostly specialty food items. Ended up picking up an Italian salad to go with our sandwiches. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was a little difficult since the location is downtown so be prepared to park and walk , unless you get lucky and find a spot on the street right away.Would recommend this spot for fresh and tasty sandwiches.

Ordered a chicken sandwich with a grilled chicken breast instead of sliced chicken since I can't eat cured meats. Halfway through, I realized they gave me the regular one with cured meats, that's so messed up, especially since I specifically told them I can't eat that.Chicken lemon soup is an 11 out of 10.

There is a special place in my heart for sandwiches and Olives holds the golden reign of sandos. Respectfully earned through the craftsmanship and love that is intertwined within everything they make. I'm typically a creature of habit when it comes to ordering but that all changes when I walk through those beautiful glass doors. I'm not afraid to go out of my comfort zone and try a different delicious sub because EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. it is friggin mind-blowing. The Belmont, slay. The Spicy Steve, iconic. The Broadway, holy mole that olive tapenade is what dreams are made of. Now.. let's talk about those damn cookies. They are heavenly. I swear, when I first took a bite of this sweet and pinch of salt goodness, I heard a symphony start playing and gold sparkles glistened in my eyes. Not even overreacting. Ya ya ya, $4 is a bit much for a cookie but the cost of pure bliss aint cheap.

Olives is a local deli/grocery shop with speciality items. Although it is small it is packed with all types of goodies. They have lots of high quality pantry items for purchase and pre-made cold and hot foods to take out. They also have a full menu which includes delicious sandwiches, pizzas, and breakfast items made when order. There is even a little patio outside for you to enjoy your food.Olives was recommended to me by someone who comes often. I met up with someone here for lunch and got their popular Spicy Steven Italian sandwich with gluten free bread (+$1.50). It was really good and satisfying. I did wish it was larger though. Now I want to try their other sandwiches as well and I appreciate they have gluten free options.The shop is located on the street so there is street parking or neighborhood parking. The staff that work there are pretty nice and the food was made fairly quick. I recommend if you are looking for something affordable, quick and higher quality.

Once upon a time, this Faerie Queen needed a good solid lunch...on the go. No fast food! This is the place for amazing sandwiches. There are gourmet delights here. Sandwiches made and to order. This is a special little place in Long Beach. Check it out! The end.

I was looking for a good spot in the LBC for sandwiches and my coworker, who lives in Long Beach, recommended Olives. I love these types of small, neighborhood type grocery stores. Limited groceries available but they have a fresh deli counter and lots of cute pantry items and gifts. Sandwiches were delicious! I decided on their turkey and brie on a baguette and ordered a kale salad as well. Highly recommend!

Having lived in NJ for nearly 8 years, I was concerned that moving back to Ca would have me missing the local delicatessens and ease of obtaining a solid sandwich. I'm so so grateful Olives is within walking distance from me. I have yet to find a sandwich in the Long Beach area I enjoy more than the Baja club at Olives, lol. Atmosphere: cute little store with groceries, prepared foods, and sandwiches made to order. I often use their app to order the sandwiches ahead of time. Food: I've tried numerous sandwiches here, and all are super solid. Fresh ingredients, lots of flavor, and large portions (I.e. you could save half the sandwich for later). I am a fan of their paninis, since they are warm and crispy, but my top notch sandwich is the Baja club, which has smoked turkey, pepper jack cheese, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and green chili aioli in a baguette. The flavors all mend together perfectly on a fresh and soft baguette, and I love the crispness of the bacon with the smooth textures of the avocado. The aioli is an added nice touch as well. It's just such a damn near perfect sandwich. And it's large!!! It's about $13 but well worth it as you can split the sandwich into two meals or share a sandwich between two people (or just be greedy and live your life and eat the whole damn sandwich).I can also vouch for their chocolate cake slices. Decadent and delicious! I need to try their prepared foods next time. They have premade items like lasagna etc that you can take home and warm up as needed, and it looks pretty good. Services is extremely friendly and accommodating anytime I purchase something there. Only gripe is parking can be a pain as there is only street parking, but over all, nothing else to complain about.

Best sandwiches in the area. I love the focaccia bread with steak. The portions are huge and well worth the price. Might wait a bit but worth it!

So good! I was craving a good sandwich and Google did not disappoint. First time and definitely not my last. If you like fresh mozzarella and olives, this sandwich hits the spot, and the meat OMG so tender. The staff is super helpful. The lady at the register helped me decide and I'm so glad I listened.
