Olives by the bay Yummy food served by really nice people who are accommodating and attentive. Josh, our server, provided excellent service and tweaked our order to satisfy our vegetarian preference. Locals PLEASE support this business during the off season and slower times.

Restaurant is closed for "winter", which I'm interpreting as "for good". Prices were high, the menu was all over the place. Nothing looked fresh and it was always empty. They tried! After just six months, it's Instagram official that they're closed. Their voicemail no longer identifies who you're calling and the mailbox is full. Can we just get someone to come in and offer some good coffee, bacon and eggs and maybe a cheeseburger for lunch??! If you build it, we will come!*Sam...not sure what you mean by input from the community. You opened with a set menu and you closed with a cryptic post. Even your phone number gives no information that we even got the number right. I'm not sure you understand the peninsula neighborhood and what worked before, and what didn't. Clearly.

Coffee & food was excellent. Some of the best hummus I've had. Recommend mixing the regular with the spicy.Bryan was a very attentive server. Will be back when in town & recommend to family that is local.

The only restaurant on the Peninsula of Long Beach, CA, Olive by the Bay is located on one of the cross streets as you take the main road to the dead end of Alamitos Park. It is surrounded by residential buildings, and doesn't really stick out. Thus, this is not a place for people to drop-in while walking by. Instead, it is a destination in itself, and with its success suggests how good its service and food are.We intentionally stopped in for an early lunch on a Wednesday, and found plentiful street parking nearby. The north south roads are extremely narrow here (no 3 point turns here without holding up traffic, which others didn't mind doing). It's a narrow building that goes deep from the street, having a nice open air covered patio in the back (which is where we dined). We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server had to work multiple tables, and apologized to us about the wait...it's a good way to set expectations with customers, and nobody around us seemed to mind.We ordered after a bit, and the food came relatively quickly (in comparison). The dishes are well executed here. Brioche French Toast ($15) was very light, and served with fresh fruits and light cream. My wife didn't need the generic syrup that came with it. The Beef Stroganoff Crepe ($18) was a lot more hearty, coming with a very strong, heavy mustard sauce. It had a very generous portion of filet mignon tips, which was good and filling. I didn't care for the sauce, first time having dijon mustard mixed with sour cream, so know what not to order for next time. The crepe went well with the beef (replaced the egg noodles really well), though I wish it had more of the mushrooms, which were great. It was accompanied by a very fresh side salad with an interesting mix of greens and vegetables, accompanied by a good italian dressing. Our server was very friendly and was able to keep the orders straight. We didn't feel rushed at all, which contributed to the easy ambience. It's a relatively small space, so you will be seated close to others, which means conversations will be overheard. Also, they will charge an extra 4% on top of the posted prices if you use non-cash...it's clearly posted on the menu. Just some things to note.

This cute, seaside eatery got an upgrade. It's nice to have a coffee shop/ lunch spot on the actual peninsula. That being said, parking will be quite hard to find during peak busy hours (think, mornings and weekends). I tried their omelette which came with a small side salad and potatos. The potatoes were alright and the omelette was pretty good. It was all solid, however there were a lot of flies in their back seating area so that was annoying. I would most likely come in the future just for coffee. Check it out and judge for yourself.

Brunch!? Always yes, please! Tucked away in a small beach neighborhood, there's this little gem. It offers excellent service. Yummy, good food, and great service. What else could you ask for? Parking. The parking situation is not great, but if you are in Long Beach, this is something you already know.We were seated outside on the covered porch near the waterfall wall (a great touch), and our waiter was excellent! He made whatever we asked for possible.Great experience, thank you! Items orderes:French toaststeak and eggsbreakfast croissant sandwich crêpes, hummus appetizercheese sticks

This place is super cute & lowkey. The food was average for the price, presentation is great. If you get eggs Benedict make sure you don't forget to order it with the English muffin since it doesn't come with it -it's sold separate (I had no idea so by the time I got the English muffins my food was cold) I am going to say I was in love with the salmon ceviche! It was amazing. Service was good, they did take a little long to attend us & to bring our food + check in on us considering it was empty but super cute spot!

Cute small place. Service was friendly. The matcha I ordered was more oat milk w a splash of matcha but it's ok, at least the oat milk was pretty tasty! I ordered the very berry pancakes, it was different than what I expected for it had more of a cinnamon taste to the cake- It was good with the syrup. I also ordered the eggs Benedict and added avocado. The eggs Benny was delicious, done proper and the presentation was great. I loved it. The potatoes weren't the business but the little spring salad was good.

My boyfriend took me to this amazing hidden gem. It's tucked away on 62nd street in Long Beach. Cute and quaint little spot for some amazing Mediterranean food. I ordered the Filet Mignon Kabob plate with a shrimp kabob add on. It comes with rice pilaf and a side salad. It was delicious! The way they marinated the steak and the shrimp was perfect. My steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare. The rice was amazing , the seasoning was great! The salad tasted fresh and I like the dressing on it. It was refreshing on a hot day. My boyfriend ordered a pesto chicken panini and it was delicious. It comes with some fries, olives, a little gherkin, and a pepperoncini. I had a bite of his panini and it was amazingly good. Very flavorful! The location was nice and clean. The staff members were all very nice and welcoming. I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area and hanging out in Los Alamitos Bay.

Where did Vibes go? Why did it close? I have no idea. And I was sad. Until I walked in to Olive by the Bay and, dare I say it, it had the same Vibes with different food. The serenity, laid-back, friendly nature of Vibes live on and is improved through Olive. Everyone was beyond friendly and nice. I felt very taken care of. The food allll looks great. My husband is Middle Eastern so I am picking about my Mediterranean food. And I got a breakfast burrito from the Mediterranean spot. I am not sure why my life choices lead to to that decision, but it was epic. Hands down this is one of my favorite "designer" breakfast burritos. You have your classic breakfast burritos like Nick's Deli. And then you have the designer kind that blow you away with uniques flavors and tastes that elevate the classic. Sometimes those "designer" burritos fall flat and are an insult to the word burrito. But this was such a delightful experience. There was a green sauce that came on the side. I don't know what it is, but I would eat anything they might put this sauce on. I had the loveliest morning and the most delicious experience. Olive is truly delightful and unique.
