Off Da Hook Fish House

June 2024 | On Slauson: Off Da Hook Fish House is a simple restaurant with larger than life flavor! After moments of browsing the menu, beautifully handwritten in white on the red wall (w/a blue rope on gold posts in front of it), I decided on the Fried Shrimp w/2 sides; Greens & Macaroni Salad! There are so many mouthwatering & amazing options, both fried and grilled!Fried Shrimp: Yes, please! The crunch of it all had me excited at first bite... the crunch that you can hear! Haha! The flavor had me grinning from ear to ear & almost made me wanna' dance, because it was so good! I called one of my friends and told her about it, as she knew the area better, but had not heard about the restaurant! Now she knows and wants to try it!Greens: Though it took me time to take the meat out, the flavor was that homemade taste that I grew up on! I highly recommend!Vibe/Customer Service: Friendly! I was immediately excited to see Nipsey on the wall!! Don't expect bells and whistles when you walk in. However, know for a fact, hard-hitting flavor is included!Minus A Star: Got home craving the macaroni salad, and it was nowhere to be found! He forgot to put my macaroni salad with my order...Nooo! Haha! I was so looking forward to it! I recommend getting your order to go! There are a couple of tables with chairs. Overall: I've already told several friends about the restaurant & they also want to give it a try, as the crunch & flavor is Off Da Hook, just as the name says!

This is not my first time ordering from here but I don't know what happened this time around, the fish & shrimps was bland but the rice was on point. Maybe it's because I ordered last minute before closing so next time I'll order earlier & hopefully it would be as good as before if not better.

Ordered $130 worth of food to get the wrong food delivered by Uber eats. My sides was all mixed up. Got half of what I ordered which made me question the food I even received. Horrible and of course when I called to complain I was disconnected. To top it off the food I received was over cook

The whiting was good just had a lot of pointy lil hard bones I feel like I have one stuck in my throat all day since I ate there. Good portion just all the bones threw me off the hook. Really wanted to like this spot. I am a soul food connoisseur from here to ATL to the Carolinas to NYC.

I tried the salmon burrito with a delicious sauce it pairs very well with. It surpassed my expectations and I really enjoyed it. The next time I order from here I will get the seafood burrito with lobster and shrimp together. This was a 10/10 . Thank you Off Da Hook

Not quite sure what to think or say about this. The seasoning is good, however, the size is quite small.

Neighborhood go to! My husband and I order from this establishment often. The food is flavorful and the price and serving sides are fair. There is a small area to eat inside but we've only ordered for pickup

Food is very good with good seasoning I had the fried Lobster, greens and Fries It was all fresh and made to order. I was impressed because my wife's family throws down in the kitchen so I'm a foodie. The greens had great flavor And they used smoked turkey too. This will def be one of my go to spots for Fish. I'm headed there now I heard they have a fire seafood Mac and Cheese

I choose this because it looked really good when I got it it was marvelous for amount of food like the lemon pepper shrimp and the shrimp burrito was mouth watering I wish I ate it every single Sunday while watching football that day marked the time my taste buds felt happy

I might be missing something, or it was a bad day, Bad batch, I don't know, but nothing about this fish was good... so much soil threw it away. Texture was weird. The macaroni salad had the same seadon as the fish. Just not my cup of tea.
