Nim Chan's Kitchen

Lived in San Pedro for decades and visited here on many occasions. Usually when tired and very hungry. Never more than average fair. Edible when starving! My visit today was my very last. I ordered the Chinese Special and the offering was tasteless and less than fresh. I ate about half and discarded the rest. Garbage can meal to say the least. I would be embarrassed to serve such mediocrity!

Local gem. Lots of veggies so add extra meat to order. Chef is a nice guy. I love the house special Lo Mein.

We often order their delicious food when we are craving for a Chinese meal. There is great variety on the menu to choose from. We usually order the family combination, and their won ton noodle soup, which we order when we are sick. The soup has a lot of vegetables, noodles, won ton, and choices of meat and/or shrimp. The portions are generously large and the prices are very affordable.

Good food, piping hot. Have some seating indoors for anyone that wants to dine in. The owner seems speedy and efficient.

All of the one star reviews for this place are sadly missing the point. It's a 'cha chaan teng' style restaurant in San Pedro that's been around for decades. I was able to get Hong Kong style beef chow fun on a Sunday night. It's the only dish I order there. Most everything else on the menu is a miss, but the beef chow fun is spectacular! Just like Hong Kong!

The chow mein is very hard to order, hit ir miss. This business owner is very rude he was yelling at me. I went back to tell them my chow mein was boiled noodles with ketchup sauce and that had not happened to me here before. He was yelling at me that I didn't know their noodles were soft. They were boiled spaghetti noodles with Ketchup. I pay cash when I come here my first time I complain sometimes the food is not as tasty. But it's a local spot and I try to support instead of buying at Panda Express. I have learned my lesson. The guy was yelling at me telling me I ordered the wrong noodle. I never get asked what noodle I just say chow mein. But this time it was tasteless and with Ketchup. Stay away. I returned the noodles and left without anything because he would not stop yelling at me. He saw me leaving and said wait I'll make it for you, still in a terrible yelling tone. I said nope do not yell at me. He then called me and left me a voicemail. Listen the good news is there's a ton of Chinese food restaurants and they give me great service. To the owners, if you are in the food business don't forget I pay it's not free. So try not to loose too much business either because of your bad attitude. Oh and here is a picture of the fried rice you can also see it's boiled chicken that just got tossed at the end.

Been coming here for over 40 years that's right 40 years or longer everything is delicious I love their pork fried rice prices have gone up because of prices due but it's worth every penny too many foods to mention but they're all delicious

I love Nim Chan's. It's our local Chinese takeout & is exactly what you want if you don't want to go to a restaurant. It's literally a mom & pop place and the food is good, consistent & fairly inexpensive. Nothing fancy at all & absolutely no ambiance, but who needs that in a takeout place?
