Since COVID times, Nam's Red Door has been primarily for take-out. You will want to call them first to see their hours for a weekly basis. Their Vietnamese cuisine is very delicious, too, and is pretty straightforward, much like their menu. I like their stews over rice, I like their beef crab wontons where it comes with sweet and sour sauce, and I also enjoy their "imperial" spring rolls with lettuce leaf and special sauce. Street parking only. EDIT TO ADD: Nam's Red Door is still open for quality business. They require you to order your food for take out (and picking it up yourself the next day) 24 hours in advance! Please call their number if you are a first time customer. They will also respond to your takeout order given 24 hours in advance by text, where you order by text and they reply by text. Happy eating!

First time trying this place all the years I have been in San Pedro. Fantastic - Imperial Rolls and Fried Rice dishes were better than I anticipated. Can't wait to go back and try the other dishes.

I've never had a bad meal from Snow or her mother. My best friend and I started going there in highschool and we have never been disappointed.

Man, I really want to like this place, but unfortunately I think it's whatev's. Everyone raves about how delicious the imperial rolls are, yet they meh to me. I had them on two separate occasions. They simply lack the flavor and crunch that I'm looking for in a Vietnamese egg roll. The biggest disappointment was the Curry Tom. It was decent, but once again, where are the taste bud punching flavors? It was $30 including tip for the Curry Tom and imperial rolls. I definitely don't see the value in the food that I received. I love supporting local business, but I shan't be returning.

This is a San Pedro gem, also the only true Vietnamese restaurant in San Pedro. It reminds me of the old school Vietnamese restaurants our parents took us to in the 80's so it was very nostalgic! Snow aka Co Tuyet is amazing, hard worker and knows her customers. They're open during the pandemic but you have to call or text your order in advance for takeout. But nbd. Food:I ordered the imperial eggrolls and I'd have to say it is pretty legit and lives up to the hype. I highly recommend it, she uses rice paper (banh trang) and not the won ton wrappers so it's super crunchy and a little chewy at the same time.I also ordered the curry tom which was recommended by all of the locals. I personally thought it was too salty but that's just me. Everyone seems to like it! Mi xao: I got the crispy egg noodles with pork, the noodles were perfect, I got the noodles on the side and added it to the stir fry after so it would get soggy. It was ok, a little to salty for my taste but again, maybe it's just my tastebuds.I highly recommend this place and their eggrolls!

I love this place! It's like eating at someone's house. And I think you essentially are. Hole and in wall, mom& pop, or rather mother&son ,I love watching her cook in the kitchen. Everything is right there in front of you, the stove, refrigerator, there's no question your food is being prepared fresh. I find the people here funny and welcoming. I'm told it's been here for over forty years and I can understand why. Can she be abrasive? Maybe, I could see that but I'd say it's probably due to a cultural difference and wouldn't take it personally or keep me from coming here. The imperial rolls are a must, it's been said before, but I've yet to have a bad meal here. I even came in today because I've been sick and wanted pho. And it's always nice to be remembered. If you're in the area, check it out.

I am sad to say that I would never come back to this place.I really wanted to like it since it's down the street from my house. I didn't want to judge upon just on yelp reviews. But man was I wrong. I went to try this place yesterday, January 31, 2019 I was their first and only customer the first hour. I wanted to try it even though it was pouring rain because I wanted to see if the reviews were right. As I went in, just like everyone else said it is cute and homey feeling. It looked clean from the dim lights. It was just a lady and a guy there. We had ordered their pho and their mi xao, i think that is what it is called. The pho, honestly tasted like water, was $8.95. The meat was over cooked. I am assuming this broth isn't the same as the normal pho places where they actually take time to make it. I would know this because either they had cooked it the day before or they just made the soup because we were there 15 mins before they opened and saw them walk in. The pho meat was probably over cooked hoping that they could get the soup to taste like beef but sadly it just didn't work out. To top it off they had already included the beansprouts to make the bowl look fuller which made it worse. The mi xao, the noodles with vegetables and meat was $9.95. It was honestly salty and felt like they just threw whatever vegetables they had. While I was eating it, it honestly had a bad aftertaste which i didn't want to be quick to judge. But stupid me, decided to keep eating it and not be judgy about it. I am not sure if it is supposed to look like soupy and just everything over boiled but it was.Sadly right after I felt so sick. I ended up rushing home feeling all nauseous. I knew I should of stopped eating but honestly it wasn't cheap. The portion sizes were so small. I feel bad and didn't want to write this review but people have the right to know.I will never come back and honestly will remind all my friends to never come here. But I did saw that many people loved their imperial rolls. So if you do want to come, please please try their imperial rolls. It apparently has changed many people's views on this place. Just make sure its cooked all the way.
