We have been in LA since 1998, and have been going to Chinatown every year for our Christmas or New Years dinner seafood. Part of that tradition is going to Nam Hoa Fish Market that sells fresh fish, lobsters and crabs. My wife actually knows the owner now because we do also go there during the year for other occasions. They are fairly priced and the quality of seafood is top notch. For those who have never been to a "Fish Market", it's not the cleanest or best smelling area, but, what you get is quality seafood.Highly recommended!!

Great shrimp/crabs/lobster and firm looking fish! I wIsh I know how to cook all the huge shellfish!! Love that it's literally on the next block from Jia apartments! Hidden gem! It's on the flip side of the broadway block! With all the Asian grocery stores closing in Chinatown, I'm so glad I found this place on a random 30min fresh air walk. I've made fresh shrimp scampi 2x so far! Purchased lemons from the sidewalk vendors. I love Chinatown life!

Came to this place on a whim today looking for live crab and happy I did, we didn't get the crab, but we left with a couple of live lobster that were amazing, the customer service was also great. They also take EBT if you were curious.

Great selection of seafood. 8.99 for red snapper (depending on size), 1/2lb of clams 4.99. I was looking for a seafood market nearby since most in DTLA close at noon, as I drove by Chinatown I found this hidden gem.Now time to prep for my caldo de mariscos (seafood soup) with this amazing fresh selection.

Sometimes it's just easy to go to Whole Foods and spend $2,0485@383 dollars on fish but if you want quality fish and not have to break the bank to get it this is the place. The guys there are super nice and helpful when it comes to picking out the right amount of fish for the amount of people you're serving. They clean and cut how you ask. They have a ton of choices. I'll be coming here from now for my fresh fish selection.

Hoi Yeun has been my usual stop for the last 15 years but I spied this being open and dropped in. A couple years back Hoi Yeun sold but it is still good. Walking past Nam-Hoa (this is the way it is spelled on their business card) I was kind of surprised! There was a seafood store there in the past but every time I have gone by there in the last couple years it was closed.Walking in, Dungenous Crabs on parade and the tank was at eye-level as opposed to going to a 99 Ranch or some other place where you cannot see what they are bagging as they do it, and hopefully you get something great when you get home. I picked the little clawers that I wanted and was in and out of there as fast as Speed Racer. I saw inventory of frogs, oysters, lobsters and countless fish, alive and swimming and also iced. The place smelled fresh for what it was,,,,,,,,,, and it was pretty impressive. The owner bagged two crabs, the total was just under $32.00. He told the cashier just to make it $30.00! Now that is something I have never experienced in a place like this! Alternatively I have seen fingers pressing down on the scale along with the purchase. Definitely will be back to visit this establishment and get stuff to take home to kill and eat!Humbly submitted,Moi

Fresh lobsters. A little disappointed that the choices were limited and kind of pricey. Small hole in the wall shop. I bought a fresh salmon steak and a red snapper. Not sure if I'll return.
