Food was yummy, servers were fast and attentive, restaurant was clean, what more could you ask for?My friend and I stopped in for lunch and we both ordered the gopchang soondubu. I ordered my tofu soup in spicy and it really hit the spot. Something I don't like about some soondubu spots is that the soup only tastes good for the first few sips, but then it tastes very bland after. This place's soup was consistently tasty from my first spoonful to my last! Some notable things about their intestine soup is that the intestine they use is slight bigger than others and it gave a meatier bite to it. My friend and I also agreed that there was SO MUCH tofu in our bowls and we really appreciated that.

I visited again after a long time and ate soft tofu, cold noodles, and grilled pork ribs in soy sauce. Sundubu is similar in every restaurant, but Korean-style naengmyeon gets high marks because the noodles are made directly It is not easy to make noodles yourself using a noodle machine. In Korea, only famous cold noodle restaurants make noodles themselves. The pork ribs were delicious as they had no smell, the meat was soft, and there was a lot of it. The staff were especially friendly, so I didn't regret giving them a tip. These days, it's hard to eat in a world where tips are so expensive. It's been a while since I've been back, but I always want to visit this restaurant.

It was a chilly evening so my boyfriend and I were looking for something soupy for dinner. We decided to get tofu soup at Myung Dong Tofu House. It was really busy the time we came in, and there were a lot of Korean friend groups and families dining here, so it's probably authentic. One funny thing about this menu, is that it calls out a limit of a maximum of 2 side dish refills. We were actually neglected the whole time and didn't get anyyyy side dish refills. If you love side dishes, this isn't a spot for you. My boyfriend and I shared a BBQ Beef Short Rib (Galbi) + Tofu Soup Combination ($32.99) and a BBQ Sliced Beef Rib Eye (Bulgogi) + Tofu Soup Combination ($28.99). My boyfriend got the Clam Tofu Soup and I got the Beef Tofu Soup as part of the combos. The side dishes and fried fish came out first. The side dishes were average. The fried fish was on the soft side, lacking crispiness. Surprisingly the meats and rice came out before the tofu soups. They left our rice in the metal pot and warned us it was hot and to move it around with the wood thing it was sitting on. I saw other tables where staff scooped out the rice for them, but not with us. My tofu soup had good flavor, but not much beef bits inside the soup. The meats were well marinated. There was too much fillers like onions in the bulgogi for my liking. The galbi had good taste but the meat was a little tough. The perfect balance of a meal for a cold evening. We both felt full, and I had a little leftover for the next day. We had to waive down staff for boxes and the check. We got boxes first, a wrong size box and then a new box... thennnn still no check after a while. So we waived down a different staff member for the check. Still a nice meal for the most part, but I don't live close enough to be in a hurry to come back.

Omg!! I miss this place so much! I would drive from SD to here anytime. The place is pretty popular because the food is so good! I'm so addicted to the kimchi also! So fresh and taste so delicious! My beef soup is also so flavorful and the meat just falls off the bone. My daughter and mom got the tofu soup which I stole some and they are soooo good! The galbi is so tender and the flavor is perfect. The banchan is also very good! I enjoyed every one of them. Service is also amazing! They are so friendly and very attentive. Everyone seems to enjoy their food. It's definitely my hidden gem! The place can be noisy with a TV playing, but I don't mind it. It's a very cute place with delicious food! Will always come back whenever I come down here.

my friend and i went for dinner last night. we got the japchae and each got soondubu. i got the kimchi beef one. i feel soondubu is pretty standard at most places lol. we both got medium spice level and it wasn't very spicy at all but still good. japchae was good. the banchans were the star though! they had white kimchi, i think kelp chips, radish, and this jelly like thing. the kimchi was a nice palette cleanser. the kelp chips were crisp and so flavorful. this place might be my go to soondubu place in the area.

There are many soft tofu stew restaurants around so no, I will not be back. Service was good and the food was ok. Nothing spectacular and there are better soft tofu places around but satisfying. One thing this place does better than others is their menu is diverse. Lots of different food is served here so you can go with a crowd and they will have something for everyone. This is the reason I wouldn't return: their portions are just way smaller than any other soft tofu stew place I've been to. I've never gone to a soft tofu place and my kids were still starving at the end of the meal so I had to order twice. I ended up paying double what I normally pay. As soon as the kalbi came out the first thing I said was "why is the portion so tiny??" Meanwhile the price of their kalbi was much more than other places. They also put a limit on how many times they can refill your banchan (side dishes)- which is once. I've never seen this at a Korean restaurant. I understand economy is bad so everyone needs to upcharge here and there to stay alive but come on, I had to pay double where I pay everywhere else! A few bucks sure, but not double the whole bill! I felt feeling jipped. Id understand if the food was better than other places but that was not the case here. The food wasn't worth double the price elsewhere. Id recommend bcd or young dong over here anyday.

Delicious korean mom and pop restaurant. Great service and amazing food. Tofu soup is super flavorful and comes with rice and tons of side dishes that change seasonally. They also have bibimbap which is a huge portion and very tasty. Their last call however is at 8pm everyday

Not just a tofu restaurant. They have a large variety of Korean food and everything we ordered was good to great. When you order cold noodles, you get a regular bowl and a small bowl so you can order cold noodles as a side to share if you want to try other dishes but still want cold noodles (nengmyun). One of my favorite Korean food is the raw crab in soy sauce (kanjang gaejang). I was surprised to see it. A bit pricey but I would definitely order it again.

I came here with my grandma for lunch on a weekday and it was fairly empty with only a couple tables occupied. My grandma ordered the seafood soondubu and I got the stone bibimbap with octopus. Once our orders were placed, the side dishes came out along with my grandma's mixed grain rice and fried croaker that usually comes as a side to soondubu at most places. The side dishes were really good and tasted homemade. My favorites were the mook moochim (acorn jelly) and the thinly sliced stir fried potatoes. They were all seasoned perfectly and not too salty. I also appreciated how nice the mixed grain rice was. It wasn't just purple rice but had a variety of different grains and beans to make it a healthier option. My stone bibimbap was HUGE! Ridiculously gigantic hot stone plate with a variety of veggies, lots of spicy octopus, a fried egg, and fish roe. The octopus was chewy (not tough) and the spicy marinade was really good. I loved the addition of fish roe and they don't skimp on the portion either. It's a hefty scoop so you can get the tiny little fish roe in every bite. Don't forget to press down the rice on the stone plate so it gets nice and crispy. I love to scrape off the burnt rice at the end; it's literally the best part. My grandma also really enjoyed her soondubu and she said it was the best she's had in the area, so that's saying something!Portions are really good for the price point because everything is expensive now due to inflation. Service was amazing and the side dishes were abundant and delicious. The food was really good and I'd love to try their other dishes as well - I'll be back!

First time and last time. Order the rice cake and pork dumpling soup. Found this tape worm in the dumpling. When I showed it to the waitress she took it back and then another lady came out and told me it was tendon or muscle from the beef. Yeah. Okay, but filling is pork. At least they didn't charge me for the dish. But won't be coming back.
