Mr. Menudo Oficial

Came back here for the menudo with a buddy of mine and we walked out $70 poorer for two menudos, two coffees and tip. Going out to eat is expensive but for menudo that smelled???? Food was ok, but not for the money in my humble opinion.

Finally! Had the opportunity to come to this restaurant. I had seen so many post hyping up this place and the food looked very good specifically menudo because that's what they're known for. So I made the hour drive to check it out.Food:I had the Menudo with everything the large one the portion is quite large for $20. I think it's OK. As soon as the Menudo arrived it had a strong smell. Some people are used to it I personally am not I think menudo is a type of meat that you really have to know how to clean so it's not stinky. My personal preference is no smell of the meat. I know it is delicate and it requires specific cleaning method to get rid of this smell. This was not the case here and for me that is why I am taking one star off. In general the taste was OK but it was nothing outstanding. Also I expected hoped for a better type of grano.Service:I will say the servers are very nice and attentive and you are in and out fast felt a little rushed. For this reason I took off another star.Price: averageAmbiance: casual Overall: if I lived closer perhaps I would go again but it is not worth the one of our drive for me to return.

My husband heard about this place & has been dying to try it, so we went on a Sunday. There were a ton of people, but the wait was only 20, minutes. We sat down to delicious chips & salsa and a bunch of add-ins for menudo. My husband ordered the large menudo & I got an iced cafe de ollo & birria chilaquiles. My husband said it was one of the best menudos he's ever had. My chilaquiles were SO good. I'm not a big meat person, but the birria was melt in your mouth good & the red sauce on the chilaquiles was super flavorful. The cafe de ollo was great too. I ended up getting 2.The inside was really cute too & decorated for the holidays. Everyone was very friendly too. We will definitely return & are lookout to trying more items on the menu.

Mr Menudo does not disappoint, first time to the Downey location and our server Ms. Eileen was extremely patient, knowledgeable and courteous! Food and service hands down was amazing. Prices are a bit high, however the portions are appropriate.

So this has been one my favorite spots to have lunch. The pozole is delicious and the service and ambiance are great. I was here last week and the place filled up completely. Prices are reasonable and the serving of food is pretty big. I usually have the large pozole and take the rest home for dinner.

We showed up around 9:30 for breakfast they told us the wait was going to be about 30-40 minutes and we got seated in around 20 minutes. We waited a bit to be helped-so I informed the waiter that we were ready to order. The food overall was pretty good and the potions were good. The flavors of the dishes were authentic Mexican flavors. The large menudo was huge that we didn't even put a dent on it. We do recommend that they have a better system when signing in. They have plenty of employees but need to work on a clear system of who handle's what. The ambience was cool and finding parking was ok. I will definitely be back and bring my parents.

First time here at Mr. Menudo and they did not disappoint!!!! For one the menudo was very delicious and everything else was delicious for sure this will not be our last visit. Also must say we enjoyed the music that they were playing very authentic and the service was amazing

The food and service were spot on. Didn't take a picture of the menudo but it was delicious as well. Service was amazing and I was impress with how quick we got our order and it tasted fresh. The cafe de olla was amazing with a rich flavor. Server was very attentive and kept checking in with us to make sure we were doing good. Will definitely come back soon.

Not what we expected. Quesadillas were too oily, my daughter tried to eat them but couldn't. Advised the waitress and she couldn't take them back because 1/4 of it was eaten.Carne en su jugo was not satisfactory.Not sure what state of Mexico these were supposed to be from. Looked like a mix of frijoles charros and beef stew.

We were in California for vacation and everyone swears about this place. My family and I really love Menudo but don't really trust a lot of places this place is hands-down. The best Menudo I've ever had. I wish we had one in Texas if you haven't been here Menudo, what are you waiting for? Only have to wait a little bit in line but it definitely worth it lol
