New Favorite Ramen Spot!I've been loyal to a different ramen place for years--so much so that I never even wanted to try another. But this ramen is amazing and has surprisingly beaten out my old favorite! We always get the tonkotsu ramen--the broth is super flavorful, the pork is great quality, and the soft-boiled egg is perfect. We've tried both thin and thick noodles--I prefer thin, my husband prefers thick, but honestly, you can't go wrong with either. We've also tried a chicken teriyaki bowl (great quality & flavorful), the fried chicken appetizer (crispy, juicy, and delicious), and the pork bao appetizer (shredded pork with an amazing sauce). Everything has been top-notch.Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Highly recommend--this place is a must-try!

Overall a pleasant experience but some small points of frustration. I visited during a fairly quiet time for an early dinner. Some cons include the food being undercooked (noodles still cold and raw, broth tepid), and parking in the plaza being incredibly limited even at 5 pm. Some pros include the staff being very sweet and considerate, and the decor being quite nice. Price was reasonable for upscale ramen. It is possible the kitchen was not ready for someone to come so early for dinner service and that the food is not normally undercooked as I do not see other reviewers complaining about the issue.

This ramen restaurant is a hidden gem, offering an exceptional experience with its delicious Hakata Tonkotsu ramen. The rich, creamy broth is perfectly balanced, infused with generous amounts of marrow and collagen, creating a deep, comforting flavor that pairs wonderfully with the tender chashu pork. For those who prefer chicken, their chicken ramen is equally tasty, providing a lighter but equally satisfying option. In addition to the ramen, the restaurant offers a variety of other dishes that are equally flavorful, making it an excellent choice for those who want to explore a range of Japanese-inspired cuisine. The service here is incredibly friendly and attentive, which enhances the overall experience. The staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need, making you feel welcomed from the moment you step inside. The modern, inviting atmosphere adds to the charm of the place, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a meal, especially on a cold and rainy day when you're craving something hot and comforting. The restaurant is clean and neat, with a well-maintained environment that's both cozy and inviting. Unlike its sister location in San Francisco, this place is much quieter, offering a more peaceful atmosphere without the hustle and bustle, which makes it a great spot for a laid-back meal. One of the standout features is the quality of the broth, rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, making it the perfect base for the extra-thin, toothsome noodles. The combination of the broth and noodles creates a harmony of textures and flavors that elevate the dish to something truly special.Overall, this ramen restaurant is hands down the best Japanese-fusion place I've ever been to. From the food to the service to the ambiance, everything is top-notch, and I truly love everything about it. If you're in the mood for a hearty, flavorful meal, this is definitely the place to be.

Decided to eat in on a random weeknight. There was plenty of parking in the lot, and no line. There were only a few parties dining in.Service was prompt. I ordered the chicken paitan ramen and it came out quickly. The ramen was very flavorful AND light at the same time. The pictures make the broth look thick and heavy, but that was not the case. Will definitely be back when I have a craving for chicken broth ramen.

My go-to Ramen place! Their broth is so creamy, and flavorful. The ambiance is casual, but the service is great! Ordering to go is great too! Have come here as a family, date night, & with my kid. It can get a bit loud if it is busy, but it is worth it for the food!

A good spot when you feel like ramen and want something to hit the spot. We tried the Hakata Tokotsu and the Chicken Paitan and both were good, nothing crazy but good. They are conservative on the spiciness level so I'd definitely get a spicier level next time as my medium spicy was less than a mild elsewhere. Service was great and they have a smooth process, on weekend evenings I'd definitely get on the waitlist from yelp instead of waiting to get there. We went on a rainy Saturday and definitely had to wait about 30/40 minutes so plan ahead! The place itself is also nice and there's plenty of parking within the mall

Loveeeee this spot! The ramen here is soooo good. Always get the DX ramen if you can and you will not regret it! For apps, i definitely recommend the baos and the chicken karaage. If you love pork, the buta kakuni is yummy too! They have kyoto beers here and my personal fav is the yuzu ale! It's a low lit and easy going type of vibe in the restaurant. Perfect for meeting up with friends or a casual date night! Everyone is lovely here and the staff are always so kind. Oh there's a DX that's limited daily (i forget the name!) but if it's available, get it!!

First time at Marufuku Ramen and I was torn to say the least. The food, 4-5 stars. The service 1-2 stars. We'll cut it down the middle and settle on 3 stars. Firstly, we went in around 6pm on a Sunday and it was not nearly as busy as expected. Granted it is the last weekend before Christmas so most of the crowds were at the malls as opposed to restaurants. Dining area inside is sizable and they also had plenty of outdoor seating as well. Noise level was not too bad (I don't recall music being played, it was just the sounds of conversations and the kitchen) We were seated quickly and were waiting on the remainder of our party to arrive. The waiter came over to take our orders and initially we were going to place our food orders but then decided to wait just a bit longer so that we could order with our whole party present. This seemed to annoy him a bit even with us apologizing for being an inconvenience.Once he took our orders the food was brought out rather quickly by a staff member that clearly was a food runner as opposed to a waiter. He was hasty in how he called out the menu items he was setting down and when asking for clarification on what was what he also seemed annoyed. Throughout our meal we had asked several of the "runners" for water, each would acknowledge but never actually came back with water. Only when we were able to catch our waiter did we get refills of our water. I came to the conclusion that there were only 2 (possibly 3) waiters working and the other 2-3 employees were food runners/bus boys. Regardless they could have gotten us water without having us wait for our waiter. As a whole, the service was simply lacking with very little attention to the tables. Now the food was great, I ordered their tonkatsu ramen, ultra spicy, with spinach noodles. Chefs kiss (the noodles were so bouncy given that they were spinach noodles!) The spice level was ok but not super spicy so I opted to add more of the seasoning that was available on the table. The portion was ok but, for $18 I would definitely consider it on the smaller side. The broth was rich and with deep flavor.Their sodas are canned not fountain. Overall good ramen, lackluster service, but worth a visit if you're in the area! They're located right next to Irvine spectrum, in the Whole Foods plaza.

This is my go to ramen in Irvine. The ramen is always a good size and they let you substitute things out. The broth is rich but not too overpowering. The noodles are always just right. All the appetizers come out fresh, we usually get the takoyaki and they are always steaming inside. I never really need to wait when I get there. There are also really big tables so if you have a big party it's pretty easy to size the whole party.
