99 cent Taco Tuesdays & Thursdays Formerly a Burgers y Mas and an Asian Box, Mariscos y Tacos el Tio's signage for 99 cent tacos piqued my interest, and I had to check them out for myself. The usual meat options of carne asada, carnitas, chicken and more are available. But, I go for the offal - lengua, tripas & cabeza. The tripas were awful, not offal. Old, hard & disgusting. It was as if they were leftovers from the day before. The lengua & cabeza were more agreeable, and were decent when considering the price. The corn tortillas used are problematic, though. They tear when folded, leaving a mess in their wake. Service was fine. An old school microphone, the likes of which you'd find at a nuclear facility circa 1960, is the method for communication, due to the plexiglass barrier. Mariscos y Tacos el Tio is located within the 7-Eleven strip mall. While there are specials galore at Mariscos y Tacos el Tio, I go for the cheap Tues & Thurs tacos. Never again with the tripas, I may go for the common options, to go along with lengua & cabeza. It's cheap & easy, which is fine by me.Recommend!

BOMB TACOS! Came here on a regular night and was so good I had to come back for their taco Tuesday! I wanted to keep ordering because they were that good lol I tried the birria and asada. I am definitely coming back for more!

Taco Tuesday, baby! Cabeza and potatoes are my go to. I can eat like 8 in one sitting. And their salsa bar is delicious! I love all their fresh cucumbers and carrots. Can't beat the price. I wanna keep this place secret to myself but gotta share this gem, especially in today's economy.

I live down the street, and have seen the manyy incarnations of this location, as far back as when it was Burgers y Mas. I was ecstatic when I found out what business was coming in next!I love all tacos, more specifically carnitas, and I think that these are among the best I've had in a while. Sometimes the meat can be a bit overcooked, crispy ends and such. But I feel it doesn't take away from the flavor and quality of the tortillas and the tacos as a whole. And I love their sauces! Their quacamole is my favorite. And they have Molquajete which is awesome! My wife loves their burritos, and the fact that they have cafe de olla is a huge bonus! Already I am at least here once a week, if not more often due to the great price and convenience. Hope they still around for

The food is really great! I love there ceviche and birria tacos. It's a must you get a side of the grilled onion and peppers!

Nice clean restaurant with good Mexican food. I will definitely be coming back on a regular basis.

The food was meh; not good but it wasn't bad. Only thing that really got me pissed is that they had the audacity to still serve my carnitas that were ready to be thrown away. They could've simply offered me another meat instead of serving me hard, dry shitty meat

I've been there a few times in January while using their coupons. Positives: extras (sauces, pepino.....). The tacos de tripas are very good. Get them extra crispy. This was by far the most tasty. Price wasn't so bad. Bad: the carne asada tacos are bland. I'm still looking for someone to top the best tacos in Downey "Chilitos". They don't give free chips with the order. Guess I'm used to this but it's a nice perk for those that do (Chilitos)Burrito was ok but not in my recommended list.I love hard tacos and they don't sell them. I will continue stopping by but only for tripas. I didn't try or have a desire for mariscos.Out of convenience I hope they survive.

first time I visit this restaurant, I ordered tacos without any cilantro, I am allergic to cilantro, they gave me my order to take, arriving at my house to eat my tacos, I open the package and surprise the tacos with cilantros, omg! I had to throw the tacos, I will not go again.
