Maria's Mexican Restaurant

Great for quick bite to eat. This is located in a strip mall on Western Ave.near West Toscanini Drive. Chips and Salsa was placed immediately. The salsa is GOOD! Tasty Mexican food. Nothing fancy. Full service from the hard working Martha. She greeted us with a smile and brought us to our table immediately during lunch. The place filled up quickly. It seems to be a popular place among the locals. My friend and I both ordered the #23, One Chile Relleno with rice and beans. It hit the spot. Afterwards my friend and I shared the flan. It is a big portion and big enough to share! Ambience is not that great. It is a long narrow restaurant with murals to brighten the windowless place.They did the best with the narrow space. The only natural light source is from the front door. However, the place was quiet which was nice, even with all the tables filled. Martha bussed the tables, took our order, delivered our food and answered the phone for Take Out orders. She was busy, but she always had a smile! Thank you Martha!I will return here just because of Martha! Oh, yes, the food too!

Delicious Mexican food , great service and friendly people. It our go place in the south Bay Area.Highly recommended .

There is a shortage of good Mexican restaurants in the South Bay. I have asked quite a few of my Mexican friends, and they agreed. One of my friends mentioned Maria's. It's a hole in the wall with about 10 tables. The salsa is very tasty, slight amount of heat. I pour it over whatever I order. Usually my wife and I split the Carne Asada Tostada. We're not big eaters, so half is more than enough. The staff is very friendly, and the food is delicious!

Had the takeout and enjoyed the tacos and beans. The rice didn't have much flavor. Salsa was good.

Great chips and salsa! Friendly servers/owners. The chicken taco, beef taco and the #48 beef burrito wet are my jams. Dont be nervous about the inside, it's good food.

It's a nice quaint little place. The staff is always friendly and talkative. They don't just want your business, they connect with you too. Which I like. The food is always made fresh and isn't too long of a wait. Their salsa is fresh, chunky and a little spicy but not too bad. Their chips are thin and crunchy and not oily at all which is a plus. Most Mexican spots have thick and oily chips which heavily dislike, but not this place. Overall delicious! Definitely stop here for your lunch craving.

Good food and good service - a bit pricey. Ice tea is almost $8 for two glasses - they are pretty big glasses though, lol. The more reasonable combination plates are toward the back of the menu in the #20 range. It's hard to find parking around lunch time, but looks a lot easier after12:45 pmThe bulk of the seating is in a narrow side area that makes a party of four+ a bit tough to be together.

I was pleasantly surprised with today's special it was very affordable it was a large Chile relleno, and a shredded beef taco with rice and beans, everything was prepared nice and fresh for $12.99.Hubby got the carne asada burrito with the rice and beans on the side, I think I got a better value than he did $17.99.Daily specials make this place very affordable.The restaurant's relatively quiet, and small seating area, maybe fit up to 50 people Max, they close early at 7:00 but this place has been here for years, and they hold it down real well, good quality food and great customer service served here.

Pretty authentic food. It's delicious. The people who work there are always friendly.

My family and I went to go eat there today around 1:30pm.I feel bad writing a review because it's a small business but was really disappointed how they handled the situation.I ordered French fries before our meals so that the baby could get something to eat before we ordered our meals .we didn't get the French fries till after the meals .I ordered pozole and was enjoying it until I bit into this .I felt so nauseous and took a lot not to throw up at the table.After telling the person in charge he told me that the meat was blue black because of all the spices they put in the pozole.Never again will I eat there again it was disgusting and all he said was that's the the meat looks sometimes because of all the spices they use yuk!!! No thank you!He didn't even apologize and he was the person in charge
