It has been some time since our last dining experience at Mami King, where I typically order food for takeout. Today, we had a positive experience thanks to our server Alex, who provided excellent service despite being overwhelmed with customer orders while she kept her calm. She's very friendly and accommodating to all customers. Good job Alex.

Marketed as serving Filipino Chinese cuisine, Mami King serves a variety of Filipino classics, for both dine-in and carry-out. We found it ideal for a family style mean, sampling a variety of delicious dishes on a Wednesday afternoon.Mami King is located in a small strip mall, in the heart of Filipino town in the city of Carson in the South Bay of Los Angeles County. There are A LOT of Filipino restaurants in the area, so chose one that I haven't been before. We came before it opened at 11 am, so was able to find parking in the shared strip mall lot. It is a sit-down restaurant where a server will come to you with menus, utensils, and water. The menu reminds me more of chowking (chinese restaurant found in Seafood city supermarkets) than a typical filipino point-point restaurant, with noodle soup dishes, arroz caldo (filipino rice porridge), and siopao...rather than typical barbeque. We were a group of three, so ordered dishes to share and the hostess was receptive enough to bring extra bowls and plates for us to use.Chicken Arroz Caldo $8.50 -rice porridge. was the right consistency, and topped with dark meat chicken and fried tofu. I really liked this dish, and would be something perfect for breakfast (and when you are not feeling well). It had a healthy scoop of toasted garlic...thinking this might be one of the best uses of dried garlic, in congee.Siopao $3.75 each - got one pork and one chicken (marked with a red dye on the surface). They were large size (I think two of them would fill someone up. It had been freshly steamed.Chicken & Wonton - $12.95 - a good dish to have for lunch, it came with thin egg noodles (basically like saimin...one of the most inexpensive noodles one can get). The broth was very thin, most likely made from powder. It did come with good shrimp wontons and the strips of dark meat chicken and fresh napa cabbage and green onions made the dish hearty enough to eat my itself.Miki Bihon - $14.75 - mix of egg and rice noodles, it had been freshly prepared and was topped with a generous strip of really good lechon. A really good version of pancit, and one that you would be proud to bring over for a pot luck. They do accept credit card for totals over $10, but they clearly indicate that they can not accept tip as part of it. Not sure why. So we had to scramble a bit to find cash, which we managed to do. Our waitress boxed up our leftovers nicely, and we were on our way.

"I recently returned after several years and decided to order my favorite dishes for takeout. The lady who took my order was friendly, and the wait time was reasonable. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that the food quality had declined. The chicken was dry and had an odd taste, and the spaghetti noodles were overcooked. On a positive note, I enjoyed the sweet spaghetti sauce. While the chicken siopao was acceptable, the overall experience makes it unlikely that I'll return anytime soon."

Mami King has been transformed through the years by more offerings on their menu, but it is another solid A Filipino restaurant. It is a heritage place to me because the comfort these foods provide are so nice, a really good feeling. I would recommend their Arroz Caldo and or their Goto. But although they are not described as such, their house specials are probably the beef mami soup and the chicken mami soup. So those are must-tries like the siopaos.

I am Just going straight to the point; we ordered the ff:1. 2 beef noodle soups (never asked what kind of noodles we would like/maybe there's no options anymore/the soup got cold because we are waiting for our utensils/under staff on Saturday supper....). 2. Fried chicken/expecting the Java rice with it 3. Miki Bihon -- first bite/taste like the water from the faucet that need filteration machines instead of pork broth or whatever kind of broth was used to cook the noodles --99.99% untouched and left on the table 4. 1 bola-bola --doughy and pricey5. I wished I did not pre-ordered for take out the 12 pieces of siopao and Lomi soup so we can walkout right away after this incredible and unacceptable dining experience Anyway, we will never come back to this place and tell our friends to AVOID this fast food in this area of Carson. Good luck---just for posting purposes I will rate 1 star as required but no star is suitable for this fastfood.

This neighborhood has a lot of Filipino restaurants to choose from! Love it here!We were all craving arroz caldo and this place popped up on Google maps.It wasn't a bad price for it. Around $8 and they give a large amount! It lasted me two days. It has meat, boiled egg, and tofu.I also ordered pork sisig. Yum! It usually has mayo in it, but this one didn't. Still delicious! A good amount to share with one other person. The young woman at the counter was nice. The order was ready quickly! Probably around 10 minutes.I would come back to try other stuff from the menu.

Mami King is a true delight! I've been going here for around a year and its a place I'll keep on coming back to! If you want a dish rec i recommend the Lechon Kawali. It is absolutely tender and soooo flavorful. I love its crispy skin that's irresistible!!!! The authentic Filipino dishes and cozy ambiance make it a must-visit spot. Highly recommended!

First, the heater in this restaurant was at full blast. It was too hot to even think while looking at the menu.I placed an order: Pancit Guisado and House Chicken. Lady that took the order wrote something down, crossed it off, stared a little and wrote something down again. I was asked cash or charge and I said "card". I got a receipt that showed the total charge, but not one that broke down my order and cost per item. Not even 10 minutes after sitting down, another lady lays a bag of food on the table and said here you go. I was impressed at the speed, but raised my eyebrow thinking everything was premade and just reheated. I get home and what do I see?? Or don't see in this case? I'm missing the Pancit Guisado and found Beef Mami instead! I called to let them know the error and the lady said that it was what I ordered. Now of course I don't have a receipt that shows what it was I paid for. Common sense prevails that if I got what I ordered and paid for, we wouldn't be having this phone call. The saddest part is there was no remorse nor any apology for the error at all. Incompetent employees, no tact to handle customer service issues.
