Mama Mia's Pizza

Right between the border of what's considered Lakewood and what's considered North Long Beach you'll find Mama Mia's Pizza. Specifically on Candlewood & Paramount Blvd, this local establishment is nestled outside of a shopping plaza and can be easily missed when driving by. Though Mama Mia's offers 2-3 charming benches in front of the restaurant and a small hidden patio within the back of the restaurant, this seems like more of a grab & go kind of place. My family tried the pizza from Mama Mia's and recommended it to me so here's my verdict:First off, the service here is pretty great! The young woman who works here placing the phone orders and tending the front counter is so nice and patient! I appreciate her A1 service and incredibly kind attitude. When I placed a delivery order the driver also went out of his way and provided excellent service as well. Overall great staff that knows how to treat their customers and pocket-friendly prices that won't break the bank, love to see it! Now, in terms of taste and ratings on the actual food itself I'm quite conflicted with some of my past purchases and experiences. Mind you, I've tried this local business twice within the last week (don't judge me lol) to see how I should rate this joint. The first time I tried Mama Mia's I placed a delivery order for the smallest order of hot wings, (10 pc) mozzarella sticks, a personal pep & sausage pizza for myself, and spaghetti for my boyfriend. The young woman over the phone quoted me 30 minutes for my order to arrive and we waited about a little over an hour. All of the food arrived either straight up cold or lukewarm which was quite disappointing for us that night. The wings and mozzarella sticks get two thumbs down from me but surprisingly enough the lukewarm pizza was enough for redemption. The pizza was cheesy and flavorful as well as generously portioned for a personal size.The second time around I decided to call in a pick-up order to try the pizza out while it's hot and fresh. I definitely recommend calling for pick-up as It'll be ready faster and save you the time. The pizza was good but honestly tasted just A-Okay compared to my first experience. It wasn't bad but wasn't fantastic either. It seems as if the sauce on the pizza tasted too sweet this time around and had less cheese. I'm not sure if I revisited on an off-day but I still have optimism in store for this small local business and given that it's right down the street from me I'll continue supporting Mama Mia's Pizza.Overall, skip the appetizers and order yourself a pizza from Mama Mia's if you're in the area. Support your local businesses!

Ordered here for the first time. I was skeptical at first since the outside is a little rough but it was really good. The dough has a nice subtle sweetness and was cooked well. The wings had a nice crunch and the honey garlic flavor was good. Price was not too bad 2 small pizzas and wings was $32. I would come back again.

Very good pizza, and price was very cheap, place looks like low income place, not like a restaurant but pizza was good. You can order online and there is plenty of parking..

the pizza is not bad and for the price it is worth the value. I will continue to eat there for lunch

Ordered the Calzone and Greek Salad for lunch today. The price was very low considering the portion and deliciousness of the food. Bread is made fresh and that for me makes all the difference. I will be coming back again and again

Mama Mia's is a hidden gem in Lakewood serving some of the best pizza around. I typically rate pizza pies in a few ways but the top elements for me are: dough and sauce. Mama Mia's does not miss on either of these aspects! Their prices and portions make for a great budget meal especially during these high cost times. It's amazing they can afford low cost without sacrificing taste and quality. They also have pretty good wings! Haven't tried their other menu options but they have quite a selection to choose from. Staff is friendly, service is 10/10, and wait times are virtually non existent as my order is usually ready in 20min or less!

Dough is handmade and tastes delicious!! Large pizza with two toppings $11! Can't find deals like that anymore!!

10/10 spot! Hubby and i stopped here for a quick bite to eat after spending hours at the dealership and we were not disappointed. Prices are good and pizza is amazing! Definitely recommend. Really friendly staff too!

Naw. Keep looking. Went here because of the stars Should've went to Domino's. At lease it's consistent. Keep moving on this spot.
