Madre's has a great weekend and happy hour vibe. It has a nice patio area and is very open. I wish it hadn't been so open at lunch when I went there because it was really cold. I eventually got over it when my drink arrived. I ordered the Cadillac Margarita with a sugar rim, and it was delish. It definitely had an unexpected kick to it with a little spice. When I looked at the menu at first I was a little overwhelmed because the names are in Spanish and I didn't know what the items were. The ingredients were listed in English, but that still didn't tell me what it was. I ended up asking my very nice waitress if they had what I wanted. They allowed me to get my enchiladas prepared like I wanted. My only complaint was the squash. I quickly looked at the menu when she showed me where the item was that I wanted, and I passed over the squash. I like squash but not in my enchiladas. They didn't have any flavor so it didn't add anything to the enchilada for me. I definitely could have done without them. I unfortunately can't have guacamole or cilantro, and the chiles were far and in between in my enchiladas. I think they would have been superb if you can have all those ingredients. I did enjoy them though. The verde sauce, cheese, and crema was a nice addition, and the chicken was melt in my mouth tender and moist. Not dry at all.I would definitely recommend Madre. It's very accommodating for large parties as well. It's the perfect place to meet after work for happy hour. They also have a nice lunch menu with great prices.

I've been here several times now and it's our go-to spot for sit-down Mexican food, especially mole in Torrance. You can make reservations easily on Yelp. They have a great happy hour from 3-6 PM and $5 Taco Tuesdays. It's a casual spot great for groups, dates and celebrations. I feel like it used to have a trendier dim-lit vibe inside in the past but now it's brighter and more of a family-friendly casual feel. They have an outdoor patio as well. Sometimes they have a live mariachi band playing inside which gives the space a nice lively ambience. Drinks: They have a variety of mezcal, cocktails, frozes, beers, etc. I usually get their passionfruit margarita. I've tried a froze before too and it was refreshing and delicious. For food, my favorite entree here is their mole negro with chicken. The mole sauce is so smoky and delicious! The chicken is moist and it also comes with a little cup of rice. Presentation looks a little crazy because it's a bunch of black sauce all over your plate but the flavor is on point! Portions are very generous. I also like their guacamole and chips as well as their tres leches cake which is so moist and delicious! I've tried their elote and I didn't find it impressive. I was hoping for more flavor but it was just cheesy and one-dimensional. It would be nice if they added some paprika, cilantro, and more lime to give it some spice and zing. Their tacos are pretty good too--I liked their carne asada taco, fish taco and potato taco but I would skip the carnitas taco next time. Service is pretty good and quick. No complaints there. Located in Old Torrance. Parking: free in underground garage. Entrance on Cabrillo Ave.

I forgot how amazing their food was! Nice Mexican restaurant in Old Torrance. Parking is easy with all these lots in Old Torrance. Tried negro enchiladas. Never expected it to be a bit sweet. It was good but we might try something else next. Definitely was unique and fun. Madre Burritos were delicious! Loved the Arugula salad was refreshing. They packed generous tortilla chips and salsa too. We miss going there. With kids, it is just easier to take out and it is still a great option we learned!!

Great brunch sport with the girlfriends. The food is seasoned deliciously. There option for pescatarians like me, plus vegetarian and vegan. Parking validation for the underground. Full bar provides delish mixed drinks. Service is excellent!! Ambiance can get a bit loud, but it is nice and bright and you can gab with your fiends with no issues.

This is a pretty good "fancy" Mexican place. A lot of large groups. Reservations are definitely recommended. I've tried a number of things here. The guacamole is a must get. Mole here is pretty good. I ordered the Taste of Oaxaca and it was pretty good, though could have probably fed 4-5 people easily.

Madres is undoubtedly the best Mexican restaurant in Torrance. From the moment you step inside, you're captivated by the vibrant decor, warm lighting, and inviting bar. The service is consistently top-notch, and the food is simply divine.I've been a frequent visitor, and each experience has been exceptional. Recently, I made it to their Sunday brunch, and it was incredible. The Barbacoa de Borrego was a standout dish. The meat was incredibly flavorful, and the beans were ridiculous good - even for someone who's not a huge bean fan. To complement my meal, I ordered a Michelada with a mezcal shot. Their extensive mezcal menu is a treat for any mezcal aficionado. The ambiance was further enhanced by the live Mariachi band. Their talented musicians and captivating performances created a festive atmosphere. My wife was so enchanted by their music that she didn't want to leave! If you're looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience in Torrance, Madres is the place to be.

Parking is difficult, parked across the street and walked a little ways over.Just came for drinks and dessert, was much louder than what I envisioned and sitting at the higher chairs near the bar didn't quite feel as comfortable. Servers were very friendly, a little busy, but that was great.Unfortunately, it being noisy and not great for conversation. Churros were quite good! Had an interesting novel sauce. Would prioritize seating, it was quite busy, believe it was a Friday night at like 830 or 9pm

Food was good . Only hiccup was that the salsa was extremely hot to where it was unbearable. The waitress didn't give a disclaimer at all. Didn't say by the way we have spicy salsa and may want to add it on the side or not at all. Ordered 2 additional tacos without the salsa and didn't put the guacamole on the tacos. Horrible customer service . No one was inside the restaurant and didn't get checked on and the waitress did the bare minimum. Would not come back . Don't go here skip this place .
