Mung beans over rice
Not worth the portion. Paid $12 for this shriveled up burned fish...

Pretty tasty food. The upo (gourd) below and the Kare-Kare above are very good!
The food is always topped with fresh veggies.
Garlic fried rice, longonisa, and corned beef. Oh and the free bfast egg :)

CASH ONLY if you're spending $20 or less.i don't come here often because i don't always have cash on me, so that means i can't eat here. it's a real bummer they don't take card even when spending $15 (2 item combo price). i only come here for breakfast. the food is a solid 3. FYI:1. the patrons of this restaurant LOVE to eat early. i've been here 45 minutes after opening and they run out of eggs (they still charge you full price if they are out of eggs). they also run out of garlic fried rice less than an hour into opening. who wants filipino breakfast without garlic fried rice and egg? no thank you! especially at full price.2. it's really a whole journey eating here. i must have cash and i must beat the dedicated breakfast patrons. it's exhilarating but many times i get burned and they run out of breakfast items. good luck!

Ang sarap! One of the best filipino breakfast in the Cerritos/Artesia area! Located next to Power One and across from Yup Duk, in the same shopping center as Seafood City. It may look small, but these dishes pack a big taste! I love to order the 2 item breakfast combo: comes with garlic fried rice, and I usually get the fried bangus and longanisa. The bangus fish tail end is what I prefer versus the head and it comes with vinegar. I also love to order the pompano fish for either lunch or dinner as well as their menudo. It is a small place, so I prefer to pick-up the food and eat it at home. The service can be a little slow at times, but I am willing to wait when it comes to good food. So "long live" this filipino food establishment, Mabuhay Kitchenette, and may your hunger satisfaction be long lived!

Been going to this place for almost 10 years now, sometimes we order catered food too.Best bopis in town. The pinatisan adobo is also very unique for a southern tagalog gal like me. Top other favorites are ginataang seafood and bicol express. Very consistent cooking and flavoring!

This is one of my selected places to go for breakfast for their pinatisan (it's like an adobo but cooked in fish sauce) because my bunso loves it so much. Their dinuguan like everyone says taste like the authentic one in the Philippines. Their food at least is cooked fresh all the time. I don't have complaints on their portion of rice on the togo container because it is sufficient for one meal and I am a rice person too. The last time I came, they did cook a whole batch of eggs when they ran out on the first one for breakfast. The staff are alright and to me are friendly. Maybe because, I smile first and I am a regular customer. I love to strike up conversations with them for a change in the humdum of their daily business. Prices are posted so if you don't agree just move to another place. I am grateful for them having fresh food early in the morning .

First time customer and no immimmediate plans to go back. Fried pork was served cold. Service is slow. Food was not that great. There are plenty of other philipino restaurants that do it right. This place is run by ddinosaurs who should call it quits

Kind of an odd experience. Mom and I got here just before 10AM and they were out of a lot of items we were interested in. I guess they open at 7AM and ran out of tocino and garlic fried rice. They only had tapa available which we passed on. We decided to give these guys a shot since we were already parked in the very front. We just got 1 item plates with steamed rice totalling about $16 including a mango drink. Mom got a fried fish and rice which was acceptable. My plate was the mung beans and veggies which I poured over my rice. OK dish and could have been better. Although we were eating the food in the dining area, the counterperson packed most of it as to-go and had the fish on a paper plate. The person we got at the counter was OK, not rude nor friendly. It sounds like we did not get the owner that other yelpers have encountered. This place appears to be very small biz (although other yelpers say they have some connection to Goldilocks on the other side of the plaza?) They have a bunch of styrofoam items stored on top of one of the tables. They have some Filipino artwork on the wall. There are lots of Filipino food options in the area so, this may be a pass on a second visit.

The service at Mabuhay Kitchenette is top notch professional and so sweet and polite. I felt like the ambiance of their place was like being invited to a Pampangueno (place in the Philippines known for good food where the restaurant staff and the owner, I hear, are from. Pampanga, in the Philippines.) home. There are a few tables where my stepmom says she used to frequent for brunch when she and my dad just got married and just moved to Cerritos' (where this restaurant is) neighboring city of Artesia (which feels like a main street away). We chose kare kare beef peanut sauce stew with vegetables and tripe, and dinakdakan chopped pork jowl and ears in mayonnaise sauce and hot chilli peppers, to take to my stepmom and dad's apartment for a Sunday meal. The food is ready to eat and is really cleanly made and is delicious and full of home cooking vibes. Thank you, MK. It is a slogan and a theme like "Aloha!" is for Hawaiians. For Filipinos it means kind of like Star Trek's Vulcan "Live long and prosper!" too. MABUHAY!
