I've been raving about this place ever since we went! My boyfriend and I were craving African food (thanks, TikTok), so we decided to check it out. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and kind words--such a great start! We love trying new things, so we spent forever staring at the menu, struggling to decide. The lady working there was so attentive that she overheard us worrying about committing to a dish we might not love. Without hesitation, she offered us a sample and guaranteed we'd enjoy it. Spoiler alert: we did.We tried the spinach, jollof rice, plantains, and egusi--and she even suggested a way to combine them that took everything to the next level. It was incredible. We ended up ordering everything she originally recommended, plus fufu (pounded yam), goat meat, and chicken. When I say I cannot wait to go back, I mean it. I wanted to take pictures, but it was so good I forgot until it was all gone! Posting the aftermath instead. Do yourself a favor and try this place--you won't regret it!

The last time I had Lynda's African Delicacies, they were still serving out of their food truck. They have since moved into a brick and mortar just around the corner. Not only is this a huge upgrade in terms of shorter wait times for your food, but they are open six days a week instead of one! It's a bit confusing on how to order if you've never ordered from them before. While they have their items set out for you to see and choose from, it's not necessarily a pick and choose your own kind of place. They are super friendly, so just ask how it works and they'll explain. I can honestly just eat their vegetarian entrée which comes with your choice of rice (I recommend jollof rice) and it comes with collard greens and plantains ($10), but their protein options look so good that it's hard to pass. Just the vegetarian with no protein alone is a huge portion so I split it with my hubby and we are both full by the end of it.I love their Egusi ($10), but I'm not a huge fan of the Fufu that comes with it. They were kind enough to let me substitute the Fufu for Jollof Rice at no extra charge! The flavors are spot on at this place and i just love coming here!

Must try! I've been seeing fufu and egusi soup everywhere on social media and really wanted to try something new before the year ended. Also couldn't help myself but to order the jollof rice and protein combo! It's HUGE. I was able to share this with 3 other people (we all an appropriate amount). Well worth the price. I posted pictures of the menu below as the combos are based off the price of the protein selected. You can find this business within a small industrial plaza located in Irvine.

I found this place through a Yelp friend. The gentlemen that helped us was patient and explained each dish. We ended up picking a combination plate. It is quite pricey for the amount of meat you get but overall I enjoyed the food.

Food is delicious, service was great and the options are many. It's more of a take out place so plan to do that. There is seating outdoors that is nice.

Hands down, the BEST Nigerian restaurant in the greater Los Angeles area (coming from someone who's been to them all)! The most flavorful, fresh, and unforgettable food. Everything was delicious: egusi with pounded yam, efo riro, lamb, goat meat, jollof, etc. This will be our new go-to spot. Additional points for super friendly owners and impeccable hygiene practices. Don't let this austere interior fool you. The food is absolutely incredible.

I've been wanting to give Fufu and Egusi another try since I did not like them the first time in NYC. I am so happy that this place is near me so that I don't need to commute to LA (:This food truck is run by a family and they only serve food on Saturdays, so you know that the food is made with so much care and love. They are located in a business plaza with plenty of parking. If I remember correctly, there was a small table and a couple of chairs for dine-in, but I think most orders to-go. Service was very nice and friendly, and the hot, freshly made food came out quickly.I indeed liked them better this time! The Fufu was less doughy and chewy than the one I had previously, making it much more palatable; the consistency resembled mashed potatoes--but thicker. The Egusi was delicious! I cannot accurately describe the taste, but I would say it was nicely spiced and very fragrant! We also ordered Jollof rice with oxtail, which came with fried plantains and spinach stew. This was phenomenal! The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the oxtail was tender and had amazing flavors, the spinach stew was surprisingly my favorite, and the fried plantains were a great addition to every mouthful. I came for the Fufu and Egusi, but the Jollof rice and oxtail stole the show. Definitely will be coming back! I want to try the okra stew next time; I loveee okra

Lynda's truck is an absolute gem in Irvine. It introduced me to Nigerian food and is an excellent meal to share on Saturdays.I drive down for the portions and the flavor. The jollof rice and plantains are always a hit. The fufu is soft and complements... literally anything. The oxtail is what I usually get - though sometimes it can be dry. Still, worth the trip.I hope they get a brick and mortar place one day. Rooting for you, Lynda!

I've seen this food truck parked in the business park where Animetopia is on the weekends that I have visited. Usually not the first cuisine you think of when engaging in weeb activities, but since you have to drive off or walk off quite a bit to get anything else, the convenience and the absolutely GENEROUS portions of food make getting something from Lynda's definitely worth it. Especially if you are milling around Animetopia during an event day. We got the: 1) Spinach Egusi & Fufu: -Egusi is a stew/soup made from ground egusi seeds, which according to Google, are somewhat similar to pumpkin seeds. -Although we got the spinach version, the taste is still quite meaty and this soup is not only spicy, but packed with flavor full of the spices that they cooked it with. There was also a nice nutty taste to it too, probably due to the seed aspect of it. -The soup/stew mix is a bit thicker, and it is quite oily, but it's meant to be eaten with the fufu, which is a dough-y, starchy not quite bread/bun. It balances out the high taste profile of the egusi nicely and is easy to eat. I'm sure if you know people who are plain bread eaters or just like dough stuffs, fufu would be great to recommend to them2) Jollof rice (veggies): -Super moist and, once again, spicy, and flavorful with spices, the jollof rice is another taste and portion generous dish. They don't skimp out on the veggies in this dish, and I love the slight tomato taste too. -Again, it is a bit oily, but extremely tasty. Both of our choices were the veggie option, making them somewhat cheaper than the meat options, but that doesn't mean that the food was lacking any substance in any way. Both dishes were in massive portions in a huge to go bag. Even split amongst 2 people, there was way more than enough to take home for dinner/next day leftovers. With such value to portion size and food quality, it is for sure worth checking them out!
