I have heard MANY great things about this establishment & I am truly a sucka for Cajun and creole food .. The food is amazing! I got fried catfish, fries and Mac and cheese . My friend got a pound of shrimp & a pound of crawfish. This restaurant is different as it relates to ordering, seating etc. It is walk in only, no reservations. When you walk up, they supply you with a menu, however, you have to walk to the host desk to order and then you'll be seated; there isn't any table service. It's debit card only, no cash. The restaurant is near other food places, the marina and little vendors . A great Sunday funday. Really!P.S. the parking is ridiculous.

Opening in 2013, Louisiana Charlie's in Shoreline Village Long Beach serves up a small menu of Cajun inspired dishes, all with great views of the water. There are now two additional locations, one in the Naples neighborhood of Long Beach and one in San Diego. Their formula is working. Finally decided to make a special trip on a Sunday to get some NOLA style cuisine. One can enter from either the parking lot or the boardwalk, but in either case, you are directed towards the register in the back. It wasn't too busy, and the hostess was congenial, explaining the process for this first timer. You first browse the menu to decide what you want to order. Then they let you inside the building to the register, where you place and pay for your order (no cash accepted). A placard is given, and you get to choose your dining spot (two outdoor dining areas, and the inside). The meal is delivered to you on appropriate dinnerware, along with your drink.I was by myself, so alas, could only order one thing. Creole Jambalaya ($24) was my choice. Jambalaya is one of those dishes where I've been disappointed just as much as a I've been satisfied, when ordering from a restaurant...often because the portion size was too small for what you paid, or the balance was off, with too much rice. Not here...it was a large portion coming on a platter, enough for two meals for me. It was also a rare case where the finished dish looked better/prettier than the picture on the billboard. The rice was wet, with a lot of stewed tomatoes. It came with plenty of shredded dark meat chicken and sliced, good quality andouille sausage. It was topped with 4 beautiful Cajun blackened plump jumbo tail-on shrimp and a sprinkle of green onion. The taste was right on...quite spicy with the cajun spices, but very enjoyable. Everything except the shrimp had been prepared in small chunks to make a spoon the right utensil for eating. The only thing I would add to make it even better, would be another type of seafood...nothing expensive, but something small....like shelled crawfish or baby (salad) shrimp, maybe. Except for the initial order taking, everything else was what you would expect from an upscale restaurant. Service was very friendly, but you do need to track down a server if you want more beverage or a take-home container. The views were great, as expected for the location. Since I had already paid, leaving was a snap and the server wished me a good day as she got ready to clear my table.

You review the menu before you're seated. The cashier takes your order and you pay ahead of time. Very easy/ smooth process. The food was amazing! The catfish was blacked and seared. It was light and had a lot of flavor. The wings had the perfect crunch and flavor!I'll definitely be back for more

I swear I thought I left a review for this place! Man let me get started then. This place it seems like no matter what time you go, the line is out the door! I say this because I was here last week and then passed by again this Saturday and it was afternoon! And a line outside! But it's worth it folks. Hands down the nailed it with the traditional Orleans style dishes. I loved the fat service. As soon as your in line, they offer you a menu and by the time your seated, you already ordered and your waiting for your food to come out. I had the gumbo along with a hurricane and ooouufffff! Both drink and my food were in point. After that meal is was definitely sleepy time! My dad's dish which was the nachos?!? Ohhhh my lordddddd I wish I got his dish over mine. It was good but his plate, it was enough to help a young man who had late night munchies have enough for the next day! Mannnn!! And shout out to the host. I don't remember his name but he had a southern orleans accent but lived in OH-....... (Iykyk) but real cool guy! Definitely coming back!

Now that it's quick service. It just feels weird.I was confused how it works and I (two other groups) got scolded on the process. You wait outside (no one greets you) and when they are ready to have order , you go to cashier and get number. Quick. Not personable or friendly The guy that dropped my food off barely acknowledged me. It was awk. And this isn't the type of food you just go without assistance (can I get a napkin, more sprite, hot sauce? And unlike real quick service spots, it's not readily available for you to get yourself) there wasn't anyone around to ask...idk I'm glad I still ate near the boats cuz the view is nice.Food is fine But new vibe isn't it

I have not been to this establishment in a few years and boy was I dissatisfied, first you have to order and pay for your food in advance of being seated, which also includes a tip. This was a bit different.Ok, we are celebrating my sister birthday, and I'm like ok, let's flow with it, I was simply not liking the vibe. We were a party of 12 so I get the wait. Once we were at the counter to order, I asked them hey do you have a side of red beans and rice, Steve's response was, we keep it like Louisiana and no we don't, we try to be as authentic as possible. I was like boy bye, I am rooted in the south, mainly Shreveport Louisiana, what are you talking about.(it's my sister's bday so I am trying to be cool). Once we get through the formality of ordering, we sit to have our food, and it was average. Beef brisket sandwich, corn on the cob, 1/2 cob $4.50, Cat fish, wings and a few others. They bring my grandson French fries out, and they are cold, here comes Steve, the plate is hot, how are the French fries cold? , cause you got the plate out of the dishwasher, then proceeded to put the cold fries on the plate.Once we were finished eating the overpriced average food we wanted to take a family picture, here comes Steve complaining to the lady who was so nice that agreed to take the picture, you can't stand there and take the picture, not to us but to the lady. This place has certainly changed, the customer service is bad and the food is average Would I come back here again, absolutely NOT, I would recommend that you go once, scratch it off your bucket list and be done.Steve, you have lost a customer, the food was average, nothing to write home

First time at this location, I love the fact that this location wasn't crowded at all. Alot of reviews are complaining about paying for the food before being seated. I don't see the problem, it's the same way at the San Diego location. So as far as the service very quick, food was fresh and piping hot. The view of the water was relaxing. The difference between this location and San Diego is I feel this location gives you bigger portions than San Diego. This location actually wants you to sit down and enjoy your food where San Diego location everything come out already in a to go container. We ordered the Catfish plate (big portion)10 chicken wings (bbq and regular)Red Beans and Rice with cornbreadHalf portion of gumbo friesCajun pastaLeast favorite was the cajun pasta it was really watery and lacked flavor so I just ate the shrimp that came with it. The mac and cheese was bland. The cornbread was just regular. Those are my only critiques everything else was delicious.Definitely would come back to this location. It's less crowded no one is top of you staring as you eat. Much more seating. I prefer this location better and I'm glad it's only an hour away from me.

Amazing food; service was amazing and they were all so respectful even when it was closing time they still showed good hospitality. The ambience was great, it wasn't noisy or nothing, they even play great music. Even when my friend and I came to this place (on a separate day) they didn't treat us differently because we're younger they still treated us with respect.
