I am not a super selfish person but I feel like me singing the praises for this place is an action that I will regret in a future day because I am giving away a treasured secret to the masses. I waited a moment for a future version of myself (hopefully 80lbs lighter) to pop-in after a flash of brilliant green light to stop me from writing this Yelp review. It did not happen. So I will continue with the task at hand. I have been going to los tres cochinotos for close to two decades. Thus, I am comfortable calling this place classic and timeless. How does a place earned this description? By offering the basics done well, and almost flawlessly. This place offers solid Mexican dishes that are the foundation of Mexican cuisine. They do not concern themselves with being fancy, modern, or haute. They just concern themselves with offering good food, at reasonable prices, in a comfortable and lively place or in other words their basic in the most honest way possible. For example, their sope. For those not in the know, the foundation of the sope is a deep fried masa (mexican dough) shell. The wonderful part about this place is that they make their sope dough on site. And their crunch tacos, oh, I owe them an ode for this. A debt I will never fulfill cause an ode to tacos so good is better written by the stars. And their carne asada fries are simple, flavorful, and a humble offering that does not disappoint. Imagine a classic beauty that does not need much to to impact the eye in a wondrous way. These do the same thing, but instead of impact the eye, they impact the palette. I have celebrated birthdays here, I have gotten drunk here, I have had life-altering conversation heres. This place lends itself to evertything, it has a background to uphold festivity, it has food to ward of hunger with satisfaction and it is the kind of place that welcomes all-- the evergreen, the ever bold, the shy, those with checkered pasts, and pristine driving records. Just go here and know the beauty of Mexican in its simplicity. It is an authentic bow of the ol' sombrero. This one time, I went to the place after hitting a bar cause this place is open 24 hours. I ordered the usual--- tacos came into play, of course. They were beef tacos. I took a big bite. And I felt something awry. I took out the item that tasted awry and it was a piece of a toothpick. Mexican tacos are deep fried two at a time, with the help of a toothpic. I called the server, the server explained it was a chicken bone. I was gaslit hard. The manager came over and reinforced that I had found a chicken bone in the tacos, implying I was trying to get a free meal. I saw red. I reprimanded the manager, hard. I do not use profanity, I do not yell. But my tone changes, my words are strong and carefully said. My friend told me that she was not ever coming again (an empty threat, I pay almost every time) but she feared that repercussions would be felt in the form of tampered food. We met a guy at a bar who came with us. He was surprised at how I could not let go of the fact that I lfound a piece of a toothpick in a taco. The above paragraph is meant to showcase that after I vented, I forgave this place. That is truly exceptional. They made a mistake- a big mistake- and I forgave them because their quality endures and their experiences are memorable. This is a place where life happens with authenticity and flavor. And it begins with food that is authentic and flavorful. Visit at least three times, and you'll love it! Give the place a chance if they have a misstep in the end they will make it up.

The service today, on a Monday at 4pm, was so unacceptable that we had to get up and leave. The crew was less than enthusiastic to serve us during a slow period. We came in, the host/ server said to sit anywhere. She dropped off menus and we ordered our drinks. We were ready to order right away but would wait until chips are drinks arrived. They never arrived. We waited around made eye contact with a few servers, none of which came to check on us.So I started people watching- * I observed another small family eating and the father asked the teen if they had forgotten to bring the quesadilla that was part of her order. She shook her head "no."* Two servers (one being the one that was to wait on our table) were behind the bar discussing a catering order in detail.* The cook told them that a tostada mixta had been ready for them to bring out to a table for some time now. The two still didn't get a move on tending to anything so we decided to leave.A note to the owner (who was present as his employees were slacking): It would be better to prioritize hiring for strong work ethic rather than "good looking broads" with bird brains. On another note: we've ordered takeout a few times during the later hours (~11pm) and the food has been subpar. Tortillas cold, No fixings included for the caldos, no utensils... I wouldn't recommend eating here anymore other than breakfast hours- The morning crew is always attentive and on point!

First time here. I'm pretty wary of restaurants around the Lb area but this place was an exception, from the start the staff was kind and our server was quick with her job, was almost surprised of how efficient the service was. The food was great! I got the "Cochino fries" and my partner got a regular burrito, their mango margarita tasted amazing! Will come back to try the others.

I have been going to this restaurant for 30 years. And i've always enjoyed their refried beans and homemade salsas Today was my first time trying their Chile Verde fries. I was disappointed with then. The carnitas was dry and crispy, no sour cream or guacamole or Pico de Gallo. I won't order that again. HOLE MOLE has better Papa Nachos.

A nice spot in the heart of Wilmington. The food here is solid, and I enjoyed my experience here. The portion sizes are quite large and you can expect leftovers. I had a wet burrito with red chile sauce and it was very solid, salsa and sauce had a lot of flavor. However I thought that the meat was lacking. Service was good and on top of it.

El garbage. All the way around. I got the chicken taco and a chicken tostada. The chicken had no flavor what so ever. The shell was so soft it kept falling apart. They did double up on the shell for that reason, but eating it was still a crappy process. The food was phot fresh though, looking at it got me hyped to eat. I mean it was picture perfect. The service was bad too. The lady saw me at the desk ready to order and kept holding her conversation. I had to directly get her attention to place my order. Not cool.I did like how they marked the boxes with what the order was. Makes it easy when passing out food. I also went at like 2 AM. So I wasn't expecting the A team when it comes to service, but if you're a proud 24 hour spot then you should have top service and food 24 hours a day. This wasn't that.

I took my foodie friend to this place. We happened to be going to San Pedro to go to a recycling facility. I remembered this place because my dad brought me here 30 years ago. The food is delicious. My friend had a chili relleno burrito. I had a small shrimp cocktail, an à la carte, Chile relleno and a side of beans. The beans are phenomenal. The chili relleno was good. The shrimp in the cocktail were not deveined. I had to take the time to devein about 10 shrimp. The rest of the shrimp cocktail was delicious as far as the cucumber, avocado and freshness of the sauce and the Zesta crackers. I had a Modelo Michelada which was delicious. The flavors on the rim, chef's kiss. My dining partner had the lava colada. She said it was very good. The service was very good. The ambience is spectacular, clean, with a very cute display of small figurines of pigs. The name of the restaurant means the three little pigs for those of you who do not speak Spanish. I would definitely swing by here.

I'm giving this place 4/5. The food was good but not great, it was expensive for what it was. The music was blaring to the point of being annoying. The waitresses were very attractive and friendly but not super attentive. Other than that I really don't have much to say, will I come back? That's a maybe, only because they advertise being open 24/7.
