A bakery on campus??? SAY LEEESSSSMy classmates were telling me how every time they would go it was closed, even earlier than posted (maybe they ran out of goods). So I told them let's go today because we had plenty of time before our next class started. Dun dudun dunnnnnnnIt was open!! They ran out of like 3 items but the menu was pretty full and available (forgot to picture sorry). The customer service was extremely quick! There wasn't many people either but definitely faster than your local coffee shop I feel. By the time I turned around they already called my name. The lady working the register was also very kind and was open to answering any questions we had! Even the dumb one I had about is everything available except the marked out ones which... yes... everything was available except what was marked out. I ordered two things:Cinnamon pull apart 4.5/5Iced caramel latte 3.8/5The cinnamon pull apart was sooOoOoOoOooOOoOooooooooooo yummy. Not even that sweet it was the perfect balance. Sometimes places like Cinnabon want you to develop diabetes right then and there. Not the lbcc students !!! They had just the right amount of sweetness between the bread and icing. It pulled apart so easily, making it easy to share (if you want, I don't like sharing) The iced caramel latte was okay, the syrup used actually tasted like a blood sugar reading of 500. Of course I mixed it and it settled but I'd prefer just a plain coffee next time. Nothing that stood out from any other coffee place. Pretty standard. Coffee was good the caramel syrup is a no from me. *insert buzzer noise*

A retail bakery on the campus of Long Beach Community College, the LBCC Bakery provides a variety of bakery products baked by students. It is open only Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am to 12:40 pm, and from our observation, sells out of their products before then. It is located in the same building as the LBCC Bistro where we were having lunch, and was continually busy while we observed the line from our dining area. So after we finished our meal, we walked over. Unfortunately by that time (12:20), almost all the product had been sold out, but we were still able to pick up the last baguette ($3.35), 3 chocolate chip cookies ($1.50 each), and 3 snickerdoodles ($1.50 each). All of it was good, and as expected, the students manning the store were very friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to stop by if in the area. If dining at the nearby Bistro, pro tip is to go early while waiting for your food before they run out.

FINALLY! All the times that I have gone they are never open, even when they're supposed to be. My friends and I finally got lucky. I got the vanilla ice latte and a strawberry cream puff. The service was fast and the workers were friendly. It is pretty small with the only option to take orders to-go because there are no seats available inside or outside. The strawberry cream puff was so good, I would definitely get it again. Trust me it's not as sweet as it looks and the bread has a great taste and texture (not dry at all). I would pass on the drinks but would try other food items.

I've tried coming here multiple times but it's always been closed because they sell out?? They have a nice variety of pastries both savory and sweet! I decided to get a fruit tart which was extremely delicious and a pretty decent price about $3 and change. I also got the caramel iced latte which was okay, probably wouldn't get it again. I would love to come back and try some more pastries. The service was extremely quick, downside was there's no seats or tables near by.

Freshman here at LBCC and the bakery has to be my favorite spot on campus. They open at 9am and their menu options are amazing! My boyfriend loved their breakfast burrito and I loved their pepperoni brioches. There are some menu items that are permanent and some that are new for the day. You can tell their chocolate chip cookies are made from love cause duh it's made by amazing culinary students! also, I'm literally OBSESSED with their Jamaica drink so much that I get it everyday. For real it's so refreshingTheir lines can get long but they're so quick with the service and the wait time for your food after ordering is less than 4-5 minutes. seriously. Customer service is awesome and they do tend to run out of menu items around 12 but that's because it's just so good you can't even be mad! Their utensils are all compostable and biodegradable which I looooooove. What's not to love about this place. W for tha culinary students

This student run bakery is located in the V building on the Long Beach City College campus. They sell baked goods and sandwiches created by culinary arts students at a low price. The line to order was very short (which I guess was an anomaly). I ordered a chocolate brownie, a chocolate croissant and a small loaf of ciabatta bread (about 6 inches in diameter). Total price was under $5. All were consumed later in the day.The chocolate brownie with walnuts was just "okay"; nothing special. A notch better was the bread, which was crunchy outside and pillowy soft inside. But the buttery-flakey croissant crammed full of chocolate was - and I sincerely mean this - the best chocolate croissant I ever remember eating. I assume different students bake every day so you may experience different results depending on the day. But for the price it's definitely worth it to take the chance if you find yourself on this campus.

Good food even better pastry. It's very friendly, and runs by students taking the culinary programs. A nice area to hang out in a school environment. Great service from student, especially its their first time running the shop.

The concept is nice: students of culinary arts practice and hone their skills as they serve their patrons with very forgiving pallettes at a lower cost. In this case, I can't be as forgiving. My entire order was just wrong. From execution to ingestion. As I was passing the bakery on my morning walk, the smell of fresh bread and other sweet treats captured my attention. I arrived just as they opened and I was behind some very eager and happily faithful and returning customers. So from the display of freshly baked goods I chose a ham and cheese croissant, an oatmeal cranberry cookie and very French looking baguette. And that's where my delight ended. Hopefully it was just the first batch that was bad because how the customers in front of me praised this place made me expect some superior quality food. The croissant was not flaky and buttery but oily and soggy. The oatmeal cookie was more like a tasteless cracker. And my baguette was not French at all. I'm not always able to come here to enjoy some cheap eats and who knows if I'll try again. But I hope the students here practice some more and taste test before putting some unsuspecting sap like myself through this culinary disappointment.

Fantastic place and always a favorite stop of mine, pre-COVID pandemic. Made by students and run by students under the guidance and instruction of Chefs Pierre Jues and Chris Young. I'm not sure why I haven't already reviewed this place, but am doing so now as the Spring 2021 semester at the college is coming to an end and the Bakery has been closed to the public but offering baked goods to essential college employees working on campus, students and others in need, and some other fortunate few, like me.During this semester what has been made in the bakery has expanded into things they have never done before. Rather than try to remember it all, I just want to share the note I sent to the program faculty and students today to share my favorites and show my appreciation:Wow, this semester has been the best I've experienced since the bakery opened! Super job and huge thanks to all of the students! You've all stepped up and set a new high bar for my expectations of the bakery. Great seeing a lot of new things not offered before. My two new favorites are the chocolate cake, it should be called shock-a-lot cake because of the intense and shockingly amazing chocolate flavor and deliciousness! The banana Nutella bread was my other favorite, with such a great banana and walnut flavor and the subtle hazelnut chocolate flavor that doesn't over power or over sweeten the bread. Thank you for bringing extra joy and enjoyment that helped brighten up this strange pandemic world--which finally seems to be coming to an end. And, finally, much thanks and love to Chefs Pierre and Chris for all the hard work they put in semester after semester to continue improving the Baking and Pastry program and taking it to the next level!

I happened upon this place because of the calendar sent out to all Long Beach residents. Excellent quality pastries. Prices are very reasonable. We've been twice and were so pleased on both visits. Pastries are the quality of any great bakery in the Los Angeles area. I love the cheese and jalapeño croissants, and also the macrons. Can't wait to try the bistro!
