Went there a few times. Big fan. All pies are awesome. Don't take it from me, the first time I went there was an hour before closing. They were still baking pies. Most places would have stopped baking long ago to reduce spoilage. But apparently this place sells so much they're still baking pies an hour before close. That was my signal that this is my go to place for pies. Can't decide, get a piece of each and order the frankenpie.

Stopped in here for some dessert and was greeted by their staff upon entering the cute little spot off Pine. This was my first time so I took a look around and of course took lots of pictures. The server answered my questions and was very patient while I looked around. I ordered a slice of cherry pie, Dutch apple and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, to go. It's about $8 a slice. So definitely something I'll splurge on when I haven't made pie at home. They also have frozen chicken pot pies and vegan pies available to take and bake at home! I want to try that next time I check them out. I liked their indoor seating arrangement because it encourages people to hang out and enjoy the food while playing games or drinking wine. There is also outdoor seating available.

Sweet treats were good. I got 2 different items and they both tasted almost identical. I got a GF Salted Caramel Piece of pie and a GF/Vegan Cookies & Cream Cutie Pie. Like I said, the treats were fine, but the employees manning the counter were awkward and unwelcoming upon our entrance. We were made to feel like we were a bother and we were interrupting something. I attempted several times to get direct eye contact, to soften the experience, and I was met with weird stares that landed everywhere , but my eyes. There were no other customers in the store. It honestly just felt like a bizarre experience.

Great pies in Long Beach! We stopped by Laurie's Pie Bar this afternoon to pick up pie slices to enjoy after we saw Book of Mormon. I got ube coconut and my mom got key lime. I could taste the ube flavor and the combination with coconut made it not super sweet or heavy. I often find cheesecake too heavy for me but this was not the case. My mom liked the key lime flavor, which I noted when I tried a piece. We loved the crust! Though we didn't get them this time, we noticed they have pet friendly pies. The employee who helped us was friendly and helpful. She was patient with our questions as first timers. I'd come back for sure if I'm in Long Beach again and would recommend others to do the same!

My second time at this our bar. What I do like about the menu is that it is constantly changing. Service is great and there is seating indoors and outdoors to enjoy your sweet treat. There is garage parking that is free for first two hours so no need to struggle finding street parking.

My goodness, our pies were so delicious they disappeared into our bellies very quickly. The raspberry pie has a ooey gooey filling with flaky crust and crunchy crumble topping. The ube cheesecake was delightful with Graham crust. Man, best dessert we've had in a while.

Laurie's is an absolute gem. Limited pies like raspberry dream are absolutely worth the hype - unlike most restaurants that tout seasonal flavors that only barely stand out from their usuals. Is the price of a whole pie a little steep? Maybe. But it's better than anything I could make at home and it's ready right here & now. A slice at Laurie's is a lot like any artisan good or service: sure you could do this on your own, but for the cost, effort, and quality of the end result? The economic case for Laurie's pies is as solid as this shop's dedication to quality and consistency. Service is always very friendly. Pie-baking classes come with bottomless mimosas and I need to find out more about all that PRONTO.

Their key lime pie was so good. You can tell their pies are made with love and care. My 7 year old loved their chocolate pie. We dined in to have our pies and play some board games that they have for community use.

It's good pie, but with Polly's Pies being much closer to me, it'd take a lot for me to return, especially since I'm not in DTLB very often.Laurie's Pie Bar is located in, yup you guessed it! DTLB. You can find them on the east side of Pine Ave between 4th and 5th Streets. It should be easy to remember that the pie shop is on Pine, especially since their exterior decor includes a street sign called Pie Ave. Pie Ave on Pine Ave? You don't say! There was a Yelp check-in offer of 10% off your purchase, and I was intent on redeeming it on a slice of pie. I didn't want a whole pie for myself, and the cutie jars looked quite small for a $9.95 price tag. There are a couple of display cases for pies: One for shelf-stable pies, and the other for refrigerated pies. I don't think I need to mention how to tell which are shelf-stable and which require refrigeration, but Alexius behind the front counter mentioned that for both types of pies, they remain safe to consume two days after purchase.I asked Alexius a handful of questions about the pie flavors. She had plenty of patience in answering them all for me, though a part of me thinks it was on the verge of running out after I asked her about Dutch Apple Pie. I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt though since she was otherwise pleasant at servicing me alongside her co-worker.The Mississippi Mud caught my eye, but that would have required refrigeration. I would have preferred a shelf-stable pie, and I was debating between Dutch Apple and Whiskey Peach. Based on Alexius' descriptions, the Dutch Apple pie sounded quite similar to an Apple Crisp pie from Polly's Pies, which I've had before, so I settled for the Whiskey Peach. I almost thought there'd be whiskey inside, but Alexius assured me there would not be any alcohol content in the pie. After redeeming my Yelp check-in offer, I paid a little more than $6. Still a little pricey, but some of their other pie slices are $7.95 sans discount, so overall, not too bad.I took the slice of pie home to eat the next day, and honestly, I didn't think there was anything special about it that would have warranted a longer than usual drive. I do appreciate that the pie wasn't too sweet, like no sugar added, but I'm not sure microwaving the pie would have tasted that much better. There was a pretty good amount of peaches in the slice, though, so that was kind of nice.Alexius' co-worker was wearing a Pie Felicia shirt, and I almost thought her name was Felicia LOL. Turns out that shirt was part of their collection of shirts on sale. I liked the "I ate some pie, and it was delicious" where the first four words are replaced by math symbols. Creative, but also pretty pricey!Though the interior is quite small, there are a few tables off to the side for you to enjoy your sweet treat. Having already consumed a ton of sugar that day, I had no intention of eating my pie there, so I simply took it to go. If you do dine in, you can borrow some of the board games from the shelves by the front door. If there isn't an empty table inside, there's a rather spacious outdoor patio that I'm sure customers of any neighboring businesses could utilize. One thing to note is that the flavors don't necessarily come in both a traditional pie and a cutie pie. As a counterexample, the slice of Whiskey Peach pie that I ordered does not come in the form of a small mason jar.In terms of parking, I recommend parking at Lot B, which is located on the same block as Laurie's. That lot, as well as A and C, allow for two free hours of parking.Overall, it wasn't nearly the best pie I've ever had, but I'm willing to give 4 stars here for a decent slice of pie that wasn't unreasonably pricey. I wouldn't go out of my way to get another slice, but I'd be open to trying one from the refrigerated display if I'm craving pie, and I happen to be nearby.

I had discovered Laurie's Pie Bar through TikTok sometime last year & had it bookmarked on Yelp as well! We recently stopped in to try the Frankenpie (6 individual slices of whatever type of pie you want!) & we were hooked! All of the slices we tried were amazing & we even took a few cutie pies to try as well. I love the portion size, it's just the right amount to enjoy & you get to try something different without committing to a whole pie!We recently did a pre order for their once a year butter beer cutie pie & it did not disappoint. It was creamy & full of flavor! When we stopped in to grab our pre order the owner was there & she was so sweet & you can tell they all take immense pride in what they do.I can't wait for all the other fun & limited pies we will try in the future! The interior of this location is small but there is ample seating inside & outside. They have a variety of to go items, even savory pot pies! There is a section inside for board games & fun little activities to do while you enjoy your pie!I also saw on their social media they have paint nights where you can enjoy some pie, wine & paint! So cute.
