Lascari's Deli & Bakery

My wife stopped by last Thursday morning to purchase $100 worth of pastries for two of her clients. I had mentioned to my wife that Lascaris had a large pastry selection, since I'm constantly ordering sandwiches from there. So she thought getting cookies and brownies would be better than getting Dunkin Donuts. Well that Thursday morning at 10:08am while the place was empty, she browsed the selection, while Four employees stood behind the register. Keep in mind, no one greeted her as she approached (but that's fine, no one is required to say Hello Good morning to a customer as they walk in to their shop) so she stood in front of the register for almost ten minutes. Still no greet, or "we'll be right with you" I think there comes a point when you start questioning what's happening here. There are four employees two feet away from you chatting with each other, and no one says anything. Something is off. So unless my wife jumped over the counter to serve herself, she had no choice but to leave. She doesn't like making scenes or calling people out, so she walked out knowing, she'd never come back to waste her time here.Customer Service isn't the same.The sandwiches were good, but I can still get good sandwiches somewhere where good service is included. My wife would have been a constant spender for their pastry selection, as treating her clients with pastries is always on her agenda. But like she says, First impressions are everything.

It would be wonderful to give the stars based on the categories so I will break it down.1) Food was actually wonderful with the exception of the food that wasn't delivered....actually it wasn't even made......so 5 Stars for the food and a Big Fat Zero for the missing entrée.2) Ambiance....well it is a deli atmosphere...so nothing over the top....nice displays and enough people behind the counter to run 2 restaurants.....so 3 Stars.3) Service....at first the order taker was pleasant even offering suggestions. We had been to Lascaris multiple times over the last 20+ years before and simply hadn't tried two of the 3 menu items we ordered for my wife, my granddaughter and myself. The food rolled out completely intermittently with the salad first then the mozzarella app halfway through my wifes salad and somewhere before my granddaughters pizza showed up...I received my soup. We had to ask several times for silverware (from the same order taker who happened to deliver the food) and the 3rd time....as I stood up we had silverware....like magic. My entrée showed up halfway through my granddaughter's pizza being finished. We were told by the same order taker that my wifes entrée was next....and keep in mind they suggested the chicken with the alfredo pasta so apparently they remembered....only to be followed by a hollow silence of every staff member walking by in a daze like someone shut down the restaurant and there was no more pasta to be made. We asked again and they disappeared to come back to me and ask for the check which I provided.....only to wait for another another 5 to 8 minutes (longer than the time to boil pasta) and they said...we cant find it. The Bus boy....also a food runner and possible ticket checker said he had it ready....BUT it was spaghetti with marinara. I was extremely nice and said please credit us....we were ready to leave and just needed some gelato to go. The order taker spoke with the Masked Manager whom I could hear her tell him to inform me they could make it or we could take it to go......and all I could do was not to laugh when he repeated what she said only to have the Masked Manager tell me the same thing in person and say that they were REALLY BUSY. I asked nicely to refund and we would get the gelato.....and walked back to the table. The Masked Manager walked back to our table and asked for our card and completely forgot about the gelato....I am guessing just to BUSY to remember....and to top it off reminded us again how BUSY they were. My granddaughter is only 13 but she knows how hard my wife worked her restaurant and my daughter tells her stories how her Noni ran a successful restaurant & catering business for almost 37 years. My granddaughter wanted to leave without the gelato...so I simply restrained from saying anything other than walking back to the front and getting her the gelato to go.....and we reminded our granddaughter that when you run your own business that you are NEVER TO BUSY is an excuse for an apology.

Good pizza nice sandwiches. Dinner dishes are expensive and not very big . Caprese salad is good but 5 skewers for the $$ is taxing. Lady working here was nice appreciating her wearing a mask while sick making everyone's food. I'd come back again. Dessert options yo spare! Need more vegan options

The service was ok the cashiers need to be a little more friendly. The sandwich was ok .. I had the turkey with avocado and bacon. At glance at the sandwich looks like it's packed with meat, but it's actually just packed in the front towards the back it's more lettuce than anything. The avocado didn't taste fresh. The bread was very good though. I also tried the pizza. it was ok the sauce was a little on the sweet side and the last thing that I had was the tiramisu that was delicious. I would definitely go back and get one of those again and I would probably try a different sandwich.

3.5 stars I happened to be in the neighborhood and found myself at Lascari's for a snack.I ordered the Submarine ($10.50) ~ their rendition of the classic Italian sub: Italian cold cuts, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, vinegar + olive oil.So good news! For being an Italian sub, it certainly esccaped the soggy factor ~ twas just a contained soggy portion of the sub. The bad news: the sandwich was terribly bland. It could have stood for more vinegar, olive oil, or something. I was taken aback at how bland the sandwich tasted - their choice of cold cuts were more conservative in flavor so they didn't really offer much to the sandwich. How disappointing because, after all, this is an Italian deli.They also offer a variety of entrees which is great if you're looking for a quick and easy dinner. Prices are incredibly reasonable. I'll be back to try some of their other things.

I've loved Lascari's FOREVER! now, instead of including a very small salad with their already overpriced yet delicious entrees, they are charging $5.00 for the same, sad salad that we used to get for "free." Nickel and dime-ing us. I don't want to order from this place any more. :(

Always consistency with the quality of the food tasty and worth the price. Wish they would go back to the bread at the tableBefore the meal.

Pizza was burnt and quite possible the worse pizza I've ever had. This was so odd because their pasta and party sized pizza are delicious. But a regular medium pizza tasted like a burnt frozen pizza. So disappointed and it was EXPENSIVE!

Everything we have tried here is yummy!! Their sandwiches are well made and delicious; their pizzas and calzones are scrumptious; and the oven baked food is so good! The service is always on point and our order is always correct. Great deli!
