LA's Ahogadas

I been here couple of times so I've tried variety of items from the menu. Everything has been good. Carne En Su Jugo is one of my fav with the red sauce! You will not be disappointed! Deep Fried Quesadilla is another item that was WOW! (Secret Item) So just tell them you saw it here and hope they make it for you lol.And last but not least.. the Torta Ahogada with the hottest red sauce they have taste better to me. Try it and thank me later. That bread they use is perfect too, realize if they use any other bread it will get soggy and will not taste good!

Rated BEST. Definitely in my top favorite restaurants...& Mexican food wasn't even one of my favorite cuisines, to be honest. Service? Exceptional. Parking? Yes. Ambiance? Yes. Plaza Mexico is beautiful and welcoming. And Las Ahogadas is literally a gem. Presentation? EVERYTHING. Chef Abe Mota & his family made me feel at home, & the food was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD. The tortillas? THE TORTILLAS! If it ain't their tortillas, "Ion want 'em!" LOL. I kid...but for real, though...Please go..."ASAPEDLY..." You will not be disappointed. Side note: He kept bringing out sauce. I didn't have to ask. That's how you do it.

This place is authentic and giving the public some different traditional Mexican dishes. We started with tacos de canasta. My personal favorite taco de canasta was the one with chicharron. The sauces that they come with have a lot of flavor. Another thing that stood out was the beans, with meat and bacon drenched in the juice meat. Carne con su jugo is the name and it's self explanatory. Last but not least, I tried their main dish which is their torta ahogada. I got it with carnitas, buche and cuerito. It is drenched in their homemade sauce and has a very good kick but you can enjoy it. The attention we got was really good and they kept checking in on us to see if we wanted something else and asked what we thought of the food. I like the location and you can eat your food outdoor or inside they do have one table. The music in the background definitely kept me there since they were playing 90s hip hop. I'm definitely coming back.

If you're looking for a place with great taste for tortas ahogadas this is not the place. The torta was very hard to each the bread was hard to chew that my mouth felt sore lol!! I've never ate such hard torta before. The service was 5/5 the lady that took our order seemed un focused and had to ask her for my sprite 3 times because she kept giving me a tamarindo drink ! I also ordered the tacos blanditos and they where very salty even the consomé. I wouldn't come back to this place.

The tacos de canasta and papa are not as good as I thought they were going to be according to reviews.
