Had a great meal on a Thursday night. Brussels sprouts were a standout! Hubs loved the clam chowder and I devoured the beef brisket. Food allergy folks: I have a dairy allergy and informed the server. I was served buttermilk soaked crispy onions and thankfully I asked before eating.

350+ reviews and I've never said this, but here it is: if I could award 6 stars, I would. We experienced spacious indoor chill, a calm and unhurried dining experience, the Ursula (owner/manager) and some truly wicked kitchen alchemy. We were a birthday party of 4 and, when we dine, we go big; beefy alcohol-fueled conversations with menu-sampling galore. LALC fully accommodated us. One of our friends is a low-talker...you can barely hear her in a crowded room. LALC was the perfect environment to enjoy our sub-sonic friend. So, at LALC, you don't just get 'ketchup'...you don't get just 'butter' and you don't get just biscuits or just corn or your standard bbq offerings. You get something way beyond. Like, the ketchup. It's smoked. It's delicious. The pickles. They're brought to life with LALC's homemade brine recipe and OMG - they're the tastiest pickles in the business. The butter is churned with fennel and black magic. We'd never tasted butter so good before. That mattered because the fresh homemade biscuit it melts all over comes to life in ways your mouth can't comprehend. And, that's how it was all night long at this place...amazing and unexpected. What we had: starters: FRENCH FRIESTHE PICKLESOPEN FLAME-GRILLED STREET CORN W/ FETAORGANIC BRUSSELS WITH SPICES AND UNKNOWABLE MIND-BLOWING HERBSICE COLD IPAWINEmains:PULLED PORKSMOKED CHICKEN BURRITO ADD AVOCADOTHREE BBQ TACOSSMOKED CHICKEN W/ BISCUIT & FRIES (& smoked ketchup!)The smoker's doin' a lot of work in the back somewhere. After a multi-hour hang and a whole bunch'a food and drink, I asked Ursula if I could see it to up the ante with my review. That garnered a wry smile from her along with a definitive "NO. It's vintage and very unique - we don't let anyone see it." Massive intrigue!! That was the first of two times I'd see that wry smile of her's that night. The other time was when I inquired about the interesting wallpaper in the restroom, asking; "What's the story behind the wallpaper?" (there's that smile again, then...) "We don't talk about that." DOUBLE MASSIVE INTRIGUE!! LALC brings it! Truly incredible food covering a wide variety with a bright, quiet and happy ambiance. Rejoice in LALC'S unsolvable mysteries, the co-address that ends in a 1/2 (like a certain fictitious train station in the UK) and the twisted food-magic happening here. Look out, Ursula...we're comin' back!

Clean, cozy, good service, love the menu. Fingers crossed on the food!Danny greeted us and we sat at the table by the front window. He brought our menus and took our drink order. Danny was the "front" of the house this lunchtime. He did the place proud. The menu was as interesting as can be. There is everything from a lobster roll to the bbq we were expecting. The pulled pork sandwich was huge and the roll was crunch-tastic! Sadly the flavor was disappointing and the pork was dry. I frankly did not taste the promised "house-made" Carolina bbq sauce that should have drenched the roll. The smoked tri tip was better, served on the same roll. With mustard and pickles. My fries were "meh" just okay. The slaw was an uninspired raw cabbage lightly dressed.I think that this place just misses the mark. There are too many other very fine restaurants on Main Street in Seal Beach. This particular location has seen a parade of different concepts over the years. I probably won't be back anytime soon.

This little restaurant, located a block away from the Seal Beach pier, has a simple interior with some eclectic wall hangings. I stopped in for an early dinner (or maybe late lunch) when they weren't busy. Hanna was my server and she was very cordial and attentive.I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which came with a side - I chose coleslaw. I also ordered a biscuit, based on the recommendation of other reviews, which tickled my curiosity. For a drink I got a lemonade which was tart and refreshing. The pulled pork sandwich was monstrous. Rather than a bun it's served on a long, crunchy roll. The tender pork was covered with slaw, pickles and a deliciously tangy Carolina bbq sauce and had a nice smokey flavor. As I never smelled that smokey smell of barbecue floating in the air I am guessing they smoke their meat off-site or have an amazing ventilation system. The side slaw was okay, a "healthy" version which was a bit too plain for my taste. It was a bad decision as a side since the sandwich already had plenty of coleslaw; I ended up eating little of it. The homemade biscuit was amazing. They provide berry jam and a house-made fennel butter which was incredible. If I wasn't already stuffed from the ginormous sandwich I might have ordered a second biscuit just to savor more of that fennel butter. I really enjoyed my dining experience here. Whatever you order, get the biscuit.

Great ambience, yummy lunch, and friendly service. I came here for late lunch on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating.I went with their unique backyard nachos. They were on potato skins instead of chips (not crispy). The server recommended the pulled pork. I really enjoyed their bbq sauce... little smoky... little sweet.I parked on the street. They have a fun beer selection here. I went with the 2% abv Stiegl radler grapefruit. Nice and crisp.I sat by the window with a nice ocean breeze.

I had a great dinner here with my husband! I loved the overall vibe of the whole place and our server was really nice to us. Prices are reasonable, and I noticed that they use a lot of organic ingredients in their menu! We ordered the beef brisket sandwich and crispy chicken sandwich with fries. Both were really tasty, and the fries were perfectly crispy. I definitely want to try their bbq plates next time!

Great BBQ spot on Main Street Seal Beach just past O'Malley's. Street parking only, but there's plenty of options close. They have many delicious options to choose from. Pretty much everything is made in house right down to the mustard and butter. We picked the Angus Beef Brisket Oak Wood Slow-Smoked. It was amazing! It's a 1/2 pound of Angus beef brisket, meticulously slow-smoked and succulent that is drizzled with house-made BBQ sauce. It comes with one side, we had fries, and a house-made biscuit with this epic butter and jam that are also both made from scratch. It also has a side of house made pickles as well. The server Ursula is very welcoming and knowledgeable of everything on the menu. I've been here 5 times now and will definitely be back for more!
