My mom was telling me about Lac Viet Concepts on Bolsa near the Asian Garden Mall. I popped Lac Viet into my navigation and two different addresses appeared. I picked the one on Brookhurst since I knew the parking on Bolsa was probably crap. I guess this is their second location since my mom didn't even know about it. She had visited the other one due to a recommendation from my dad's friend. My husband and I stopped in during the lunch hours and ordered the banh mi. Apparently, they have a display with the food available that day. The sandwiches aren't in the display case but I asked if they had them and they did. I ordered two banh mi thit nuong to go with the pickled vegetables on the side and was handed two elegantly wrapped sandwiches. The vegetables were indeed separate as instructed. The two sandwiches were $10 plus tax. It was a decent deal and a good sandwich. The bread was nice and crispy on the outside while being chewy on the inside. The grilled pork was okay and my husband really enjoyed it. I think I would have gone with a different protein myself. Check them out before the food runs out. I did tell my mom where the second location is now that the secret's out.

Dear Lac Viet,Your food is decent but service is terrible. I enjoy the grilled sandwiches; xoi man; and ube coffee. The burberry shirt boy on phone pick up was sick and coughing on everything without a mask on. He helped two ppl while the girl on walk-up order already helped 8 ppl. Management: please train your workers: they are mostly confused. The space is clean

They do not have a set menu; you point to what is available on display. We didn't know they serve coffee and sandwiches until we saw other ppl order them. Recommend:Lemongrass pork sandwich; spring rolls; sticky rice. Ube coffee. Would not recommend:Chicken curry and beef stew: both are too sweet and bland. Service is fast and quick. Avoid modifications since they make food on an assembly line. Lines are long but they move fast. There are not indoor seating. There are about 5 small circle tables outside for dining.

Came here on Friday afternoon to find out that the place was closed at 3:00 pm.So I tried again today, Saturday, and got there earlier.Fortunately, there was no one in line when I got there. Most everything were gone. I got 3 rolls combo, savory sticky rice with braised fish, sweet sticky rice with coconut milk, 3 shrimp and crab soups, a curry chicken and a beef stew. All for less than $60!They ran out of the soup but told me if I wanted to wait, there should be some in about an hour. I decided to wait and go outside to eat lunch.Sticky rice with braised fish was good. I was afraid it would be fishy but it was not. I also had a few bites of sweet sticky rice and it was okay since it was cold and not chewy as I was hoping. I took it home and heated it up in the microwave later and it was so much better. Also shared the spring rolls with my sister and we thought they were good. The grilled pork one was full of chargrilled flavor but a bit fatty for me. I pulled all the fat out. The dipping sauce was excellent. I believe it was shrimp sauce. They mixed it well so it had a perfect taste. The soup, we took them home and heated it up, added some asparagus spears and that was very delicious. My sisters ordered the beef stew and curry chicken and have not eaten them yet so I'm not sure what they taste like.I did open the container for the beef stew to look and noticed it has mostly shank & fat and little lean meat.Definitely a return visit soon.Note: the outside of the restaurant is full of homeless people in that parking lot so be careful navigating through there.

Excellent value. At 6-7 dollars for most items l, large portions, very reasonable. Sup cua (crab soup) was very good w century egg, abalone, quail egg, shrimp. The mi kho is the second most popular dish and has quite a bit of meat. Food was well seasoned, not salty. Pretty busy even midday weekday but friendly staff and line moved fast

Stopped by on a saturday afternoon. 4.5 stars if i had to but will round up to 5stars. The -.5 deduction would be due to the wait time. Line was very long. Ordered the xoi man and the banh mi nuong. Both were exceptionally tasty for the price. Both were about $15 total. Would come again!

This is absolutely ridiculous customer service. During our online order I stated several times to have the fried shallots on the side for the Xoi Bap with no sugar. However, after I brought the food to the nursing home there were in fact fried shallots all over the place. The people in the nursing home specifically cannot eat sugar or fried shallots. I already stated I do not want shallots and when I called back the girl was rude, disrespectful, and demanded me to bring back the dish. How on earth was I supposed to bring back the dish after I gave it away? Where is the logic? The common sense? In fact when I called back the girl denied that it was their doing and blamed it back onto me? What an absurd accusation proposing that I placed the shallots in? This was not the first time Lac Viet has made this mistake and they need to do better.
