La Capilla Mexican Restaurant

Really cute restaurant. I got the cheese enchiladas, which are my go to dishes. They had a special that night and my plate was only $13. Not the most authentic Mexican food, but definitely delicious and hits the spot.

01/17/25My oh my! Portions are huge. First off, let me talk about the tortilla chips and salsa! Chips were brought out so warm. The salsa had a perfect spice to it. It was sooo good and a great start to our meal. We ordered chicken flautas, carne asada burrito and half order nachos supreme. Chicken flautas: 2 big pieces. Came with refried beans, rice, guacamole and sour cream. The chicken and rice didn't have a lot of flavor but the crunch on the flauta was absolutely everything. 5/10Carne asada burrito: Came with refried beans. My hubby said it was okay. He gave it a 7/10.Nachos supreme: This was very flavorful. We ordered it with carne asada. My daughter wanted a half order because she wasn't that hungry and it was still huge. Between the 3 of us, we barely made a dent in it. 10/10 I would definitely order this again. Our waiter and waitress were very attentive and nice. The restaurant is huge and open. Will definitely be back again to try other items.Overall, 8/10.

1st time here. Seated immediately waitress was nice asked for recommendations (because I can never decide)she said everything was good... We ended up killing a whole bowl of chips and a Margarita each before ordering I had a strawberry margarita and he had the purple margarita. I liked mine him not so much. Next round he had a Cadillac and it was good. Ok on to our meal He ordered 3 item combo 2 beef tacos and a beef enchilda. Tacos were ok he said the enchilada was better. I ordered the Enchiladas Suiza I liked it a lot,filled with fat chunks of flavorful chicken and cheese Great flavor! I would definitely order again, ww also ordered a bowl of Albondigas to share, we both thought it had grest flavor.All in all solid spot with good service.

We were nearby and decided to stop by . We had a party of 8 on a Saturday and were able to be seated right away so that was nice . I also liked that when we were seated we had water , chips and salsa already at the at table . I didn't like how the salsa was full of onions , like insane amount . They did keep the chips and salsa coming without asking . The service was great 3 stars for the service . The food wasn't so great . Too much cheese and not enough flavor . I was so disappointed in my carne asada plate . It was so fat , like a regular steak instead of a Mexican flat one . They also didn't have an jugos/ aquas . It was a Mexican restaurant that was kinda American , idk it was weird . I wouldn't go back , not only bc we live far In OC but bc we didn't like or finish the food . Their service was great though wish all places were as attentive as this place . The food was below pair unfortunately.

We've been coming to this place for over 30 years and it was always a favorite of ours. I do have to say the last two or three times I've been, I have not left happy. It is a very cute place and the service is really good, but I've noticed a change in their red sauce. It isn't a good change. There's a kind of spice or seasoning to it, almost like a pumpkin. That said they do have some of the best tortilla soup I've ever had, and I'm fine with those items that don't have the red sauce on it. The different margaritas are also absolutely awesome!This is a place that's kind of tradition for us, so I imagine we'll continue to go back again and again. I'm just won't be ordering anything with the red sauce on it, which is a shame because I love cheese enchiladas with red sauce.

I had lunch w my husband today.I was so hungry and ordered chicken soup, enchilada plate, my hubby got 3 taco plates w margarita.The chips and salsa were always good.The foods are served w hot plates, huge portion to eat one more day....haha.My first chicken soup has lots of carrots, celery, white chicken meats. Very mild and homey flavor.I had enchilada, one chicken, one beef.Huge Huge, enchilada covered w lots of cheese accompanied w beans, sour cream, and rice. Soooo good, my stomach was filled so quickly. Happy lunch time!!My hubby got the same tacos w shredded beef. We were happy about the great foods, service, and warm ambiance.We finally relaxed here enjoying our fave mexican foods. We took lots of leftover for tomorrow. Chips, salsa, enchilada w beans, rice, taco, my chicken soup....Happy day for us.

Came here with a friend on a Wednesday night with a friend and I was fascinated by the interior design of place. It was decently busy that day but me and my friend were seated immediately upon arrival. I ordered the arroz con pollo and tortilla soup. I've got to say, though the place is nice, the food does not live up to the expectations. The arroz con pollo tastes like your typical fast food but worse and all the ingredients did not compliment each other well. I eventually lost my appetite. Same goes for the tortilla soup. However, the chips and salsa was very delicious thought but a tad bit too salty. Service was great however but overall, the food could use lots of improvement.

The food is outstanding, the ambience is very pleasant and the service is fantastic. I have one waitress by the name of Alex who I've had for years and she always does a fantastic job.

As always, the Chile relleno was good. Been coming here for years and never been charged for onions for salsa. Absolutely ridiculous. And almost $6 for 2eggs. Egg price didn't surprise me but geez. Onions!! I think some businesses are getting out of hand with the charges. I'm sure we'll be taking a break from here.Service was great. Always is
