My go to Hawaiian food spot. I don't eat here often, but do crave it from time to time.I always get the BBQ Chicken. Chicken always tastes great. Rice and Mac are always delicious. The service is always on the slow side at this location. I don't mind the wait. I want my food fully cooked. The young girl behind the counter is always kind and patient.Plenty of tables and seating inside. Clean. Quiet.

I gave this place 1 too many chances. Growing up in Hawaii, the L&L chain was a staple, but definitely a hit or miss on SoCal. I've probably been to this location a total of 4 times the past 10 years and it's disappointing every time. I guess this time was the last straw. I really don't know how this place stays open. I ordered the Chicken Katsu, now you can't get this wrong. But it was so wrong. The Mac salad was bad too. The PANKO crust is what makes "Katsu" crispy and the sound of that crunch is its signature. I was so disappointed, although it was fresh to order, it was more of a battered fried chicken. Did they run out of PANKO. If you can't make it right, don't sell it.The Mac salad is also a staple and you can tell right away of it's good. It was missing salt, so yes it was bland with a strong onion flavor and that's not a compliment. It had chunks of it. It supposed to be finely shredded for flavor not for the crunch ewww. The space felt like a hole in the wall, which reminded me of home, it the cove just didn't feel like an original L&L. I've never tired anything else here, but if you can't get the local favorites right, then why sell it. Hmmm.. the price of $11 for two pieces of Katsu and a side of mac was not worth it. If you want some decent Katsu or mac, might as well go to Ono's.

6/24/2024,The wait time can be long just to get a bbq chicken bowl, so even when there is just one customer ahead of you expect to sit and wait for at least 10 to 15 minutes. I believe this is the result of short staff cooking the food, sometimes I will see one cook, other times two cooks, but there is never more than two cooks at any one time. I prefer all white chicken meat which is always breast meat over dark chicken meat which is always the thigh meat. The white meat tastes better and fresher than dark chicken meat which is cheaper for the restaurant to order than white meat.This place doesn't offer white meat, so that's a big disappointment unlike Flame Broiler which offers white chicken meat to their chicken bowls instead of dark. Although it cost a bit more, it tastes better and is healthier.I also don't care for nor enjoy eating the sliced white onions they add to the bowl, I have to pick out those onions to not eat them. This place used to in the past put green onions in the bowl which taste better and smaller in size , but I assume they stopped adding green onions because it cost more for the restaurant than the nasty white onions which is also an added "filler" to the bowl (which Panda Express does with their items...adding in cheap filler items and charging the same price for the plates and bowls). Customers are becoming more aware of this trick the restaurants use to add volume of cheap items like onions, cabbage, red peppers, more rice and noodles, hard broccoli sticks that nobody can chew nor digest. I also find that this place puts out their L and L BBQ sauce in a dispenser on the counter where everyone touches the handle and folks also spill a lot of the sauce on the counter, so the counter is sticky and messy for other customers wanting and waiting to use the dispenser. For these above listed reasons, I probably won't be returning anytime soon to this restaurant.

We have been eating here for years because the Katsu always hits!!!. Now I am going to give thrm a 8/10 on the Katsu alone. However, I have tried other beef and chicken dishes that were very average. Their prices are high,but in line with other katsu places. Parking is tight. Be prepared. Service is slow if you don't call in your order. They cook the Katsu to order. It is ALWAYS FRESH. Mac salad is always fresh as well.

Worst L&L I've ever been to bbq mix had no flavor and the meat was so dry it looked like I had beef jerky in that plate. Chicken was dry too and flavorless I should have checked the reviews first on this location. I will never comeBack to this place. People you have been warned double check your food before leaving this place.

Absolutely disgusting...L&L has been at this location for many, many years, and I remember back in the day, the food quality was really good.I have no idea what has recently happened, but the food here is absolutely awful. The meat quality, seasoning, and worst of all, the owner / manager of this particular establishment does not take care of the equipment. Case in point: We ordered three plates: the two plates with meat were decent. The meat quality was whatever, but there was hardly any seasoning. That's fine, passable.However, the fried shrimp was either extremely old or the oil they used wasn't cleaned. There was this extremely unpleasant taste with the shrimp that we couldn't finish a whole piece.We also ordered the Dole Whip, which had an aftertaste of actual throw-up. What in the actual heck?Avoid this place like the plague.
