Been coming here for over a decade. One of the hidden gems in the South Bay. Nothing fancy from the outside and the Interior has gone through a few renovations. Staff is as welcoming as ever and the food is delicious. My favorite dishes by far here are the Chicharron Mixto Al Ajo and the Tallarin Saltado. The green sauce is amazing here, I swear I almost finish a whole bottle everytime. I put that .... On everything. No joke.Chicharron is nice and crispy and a good mix of seafood from fish, squid, shrimp, and more. The garlic sauce is delicious. Though sometimes they make it a little too salty for me. But the crispy seafood, garlic sauce, rice, and green sauce to top it off is delicious. The Lomo Saltado is good, but I personally prefer the Tallarin Saltado. The noodles, onions, beef with green sauce is delicious. This boast we got the assorted sashimi. Excellent cuts and variety of fish.If you ever come with a large party, I recommend the chowders as well. Nice and creamy with lots of flavor.

There's good Peruvian food, there's good Japanese food, but have you ever had Peruvian-Japanese food? Kotosh offers just that. Okay, mostly Peruvian food is the jam since that's more limited in the area but here we go:The Sudado Mixto was a delicious mix of seafoods that just soothes the soul. You get hit with a nice hearty, savory sauce smell that you just gotta dish over rice or any carb you can get your hands on. I had to control myself lest I eat more than my dad.The Tallarin Verde is a favorite of mine personally, but did you know they serve it with chicken katsu here? Yeah, that juicy crunch of katsu mixed with the tonkatsu sauce and tallarin verde is a unique mix of Peruvian and Japanese done right. Loved the texture and flavors complementing each other. My mom got a chirashi bowl and said the seafood was all very fresh. Enough said.So there you go, Peruvian-Japanese food is an unusual combination but somehow it just works. Although the menu's a bit more like Peruvian and Japanese food rather than true fusion, but there are a few items that incorporate both elements into one dish so go and explore!

10 years ago I had the flan here and I loved it lol. Came back finally because I happened to be in the area and was hungry I told my husband let's goooo! We've been together for about 6 years and he has heard me talk about this place every time we get flan. Anytime we go get flan I always say "it's just not as good" and it's ALMOST as I remember! Still delicious! I just can't decide if they or another place has the better one, guess I'll just have to come back and try it again to see Overall though food is great! You can't go wrong with the fried rice dishes and the lomo saltado but their sashimi looks great (husband won't eat it so didn't get it this time around). And the flan is delicious!! They have been here for I believe 20 years and when you taste the food you understand why. Our server liliana (sorry if I misspelled it!!) was so nice as well!!

Always enjoyable time eating at Kotosh. Today was an exception in that we go to meet up with some friends that we haven't seen in probably over ten years. We enjoyed a nice lunch and the hospitality was even better. I know it has never been a disappointment with the hospitality, but today was great. Enjoy....

As far as Peruvian food goes, this place is okay.I ordered the Picante de Mariscos which was seafood in a tomato cream sauce. The sauce itself was very tasty but not very spicy like the name suggests, I'd say a mild or even lighter than mild. Also the seafood pieces were all on the smaller side - there was mini shrimp, small rings of calamari, and only half a small potato. The portion just felt skimpy and the seafood wasn't great. However there was one fresh prawn on top which was really nice, but I'd trade that for better quality seafood. I also tried the lomo saltado and it was okay at best. The beef chunks were very dry and chewy and the dish overall didn't have much sauce. Idk if that's normal, but I've tried some places that have a saucier lomo saltado which I prefer. On the plus side, it was seasoned nicely and the spicy green sauce paired very well with it. The restaurant seems to be quite popular for its sushi which isn't a typical pairing for Peruvian so maybe people like coming here more for that.

Celebrated my wife's birthday with a family dinner at Kotosh this past Saturday Oct 12th. Another great experience at Kotosh with delicious food and excellent service. Started off with the appetizer spicy crunchy roll (must have) jalapeño pepper on top of a spicy tuna mix and a charred rice roll. Sushi combo plate came later during dinner but was still worth it. Lomo Saltado, pescado saltado, both excellent choices. What's nice is the owners are Peruvian Japanese, so the sushi that's served, is fresh sliced perfectly. The sushi rice is nicely flavored and served warm and not cold. All in all a very nice dining experience.

Kotosh has been on my list to try, and I'm glad I finally did. It offers an enticing journey into the flavors of Peru, where each dish tells a story of culinary mastery. The spicing adds a delicious twist to sushi. In terms of service, Kotosh excels. The staff provided attentive and friendly service throughout the dining experience. Additionally, the green sauce served alongside the dishes proved to be a delightful accompaniment, enhancing the flavors with its tangy and herbaceous notes.

We loved our visit at this modern Japanese Peruvian fusion restaurant in Lomita! The restaurant is located in a small plaza right next to the exotic bird and reptile store. Small storefront but once you go inside, it's l bigger than it seemed as there are seats in the back. Service was really great all around. They have a great selections of Japanese items (ie rolls, sushi, etc), Peruvian items (eg Lomo Saltado), drinks, and dessert. Two of us shared a lomo saltado (protein rice plate with tomato, onions, and fries) and roll. It was the perfect amount and so tasty. Yes would recommend!
