The inside is a bit of a Japanese ramen restaurant style in Japan. The service was good and friendly. The beer was good. Asahi draft was nice and refreshing. The umakara tan tan ramen is amazing. The broth is like something I would get in Japan. I lived in Japan for 13 years and it's hard to find good ramen. But it is no surprise as it tastes like Bannai in Japan. The noodles are good. Next time for personal preference I would ask for the noodles to be bit firmer but it was still great.

I wish I took a picture when they first brought it out- the dish was so aesthetically pleasing to look at. So much so that I was too excited to take a picture and immediately started eating the ramen. The broth is incredibly flavorful and when I first tried this place out I was surprised with how each piece of meat also had an amazing amount of flavor to it. They give a great portion of meat so you're not just feeling satiated off the broth but from the meat and soup extras as well. I first ordered this to-go and it was so delicious I had to try it out in person. They give bigger portions when you dine in (I think- unless it's just how the bowl makes it look). Don't get me wrong the to-go portions are big too, I can never finish it all and need to share, but honestly you cannot beat dining in for their freshly served ramen. I always see the restaurant packed and people waiting outside and it's because their food is so good and not to mention the staff is very friendly. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and happily served even with a packed restaurant. The establishment is clean and well lit. It's a bit on the smaller side but I personally like that so that it doesn't get too loud and you can actually hold conversations with whoever you are dining with. If you see a long line , it's worth the wait.

This Ramen spot is located along PCH in a plaza with a bunch of other restaurants. The restaurant itself is very clean, the waiters and waitresses are very nice, and they greet you when you come in a come out.I think I got the Chashu Ramen, and the flavors were balanced, neutral, and clean. If you're looking for something with more flavor, I wouldn't recommend it, but the ramen here was pretty good in my opinion. What I really enjoyed was that chicken karage that makes you wanna slap ya momma. That stuff was so juicy and crispy, you'll want to order more.Try it out if you're in the area, and use the waitlist if it's still up.

I almost didn't want to write this review because I don't want this spot to blow up! But also, I'm hoping that if I share my love and more people try it out, they'll expand and open some locations in NorCal. On my last trip down to SoCal, my friends insisted I try Kitakata even though I've expressed I'm not a ramen fan... but wow I'm so glad they convinced me because I think I've found the first ramen I've ever loved. I don't love ramen because their noodles usually aren't as chewy as udon or tsukemen, and ramen broth is usually too rich and greasy for my stomach to handle so I end up suffering the next day. However, kitakata's ramen is exactly the opposite of what I dislike most about ramen. Their noodle is so chewy and curly - my favorite! It's al dente in the most perfect way - yet still soft and bouncy on the outside. As for the broth, I could drink multiple bowls of it because it is so good, and I'll still feel light. It's a rich-in-flavor broth without the grease and heaviness. And my stomach was still happy the next day! I've never experienced a clear broth ramen like this, and I'm kind of sad they don't make it like this everywhere else! Tldr; best ramen I've ever had, and I'm manifesting they open some locations in NorCal! Service was great and parking was easy too. Also their Karage is tasty too! Would recommend as well.

A Ramen Adventure at Kitakata in Torrance, CAKitakata Ramen in Torrance, CA, is like stumbling into a noodle-filled wonderland. My recent visit had me diving headfirst into a bowl of Tan Tan Ramen, with a side of gyoza and chashau that would make any foodie weak at the knees.First up, the Tan Tan Ramen. This bowl of spicy, savory goodness was like a warm hug from a very enthusiastic sumo wrestler. The broth had a kick that could wake the dead, and the noodles? Oh, the noodles! They were the perfect blend of chewy and slurpable, making me question every other noodle I've ever known. The gyoza came next, looking all innocent on the plate but packing a flavor punch that had me grinning like a fool. Each dumpling was a little pocket of joy, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I'm pretty sure I heard them whispering, "Bet you can't eat just one!" Spoiler: I couldn't.And then there was the chashau. This pork was so tender and flavorful it could probably start its own boy band. Every bite was like a melody of umami, with just the right amount of char to make it interesting. I may have shed a single tear of joy.Kitakata Ramen doesn't just serve food; they serve an experience. If you're in Torrance and haven't tried it yet, you're missing out on a culinary adventure that's as fun as it is delicious. Bring your appetite and your sense of humor - you'll need both! AMAZING

I went for lunch here and got the special with regular bowl and a side plus the egg. (Egg is an extra cost). I ordered the green chili shio ramen and it was very light and spicy. I enjoy the copious amounts of green onions it came with. The noodles were chewy as described and it had a nice texture to it, not too soft or mushy. The broth was very good and light, the chashu was tender. The chicken karaage was very very good. It was a thick piece of nice, tender, juicy meat with good breading that isn't soggy. The staff was very attentive and nice. The atmosphere was lovely with the chefs talking and communicating with their staff.

My husband loves this place. The chicken is delicious but I suggest only ordering the appetizer if extremely hungry. We were only able to finish a couple pieces once we received our ramen. I ordered their signature ramen. The dish was VERY large and filling. I'm usually able to finish an entire bowl but not in this case! My husband enjoyed the Mapo dish and loved it. What he didn't finish, we brought home to add to more noodles. Service was good. Attentive as needed. Small place in a plaza but very clean.

I wrongly underestimated this place. It's legit ramen! Located in the strip mall area near the end after Salvation Army and across from the rear of HMart. We ordered the Ramen wonton special and received the cute commerative 10th Anniversary magnet. Their fried chicken appetizer was perfection, enough as a meal in itself if you're not into ramen noodles. Definitely coming back with the whole fam! No reservations but they are very accommodating.
