Kim's Fish World

Great food!! Flavorful always! Not sure what fish my coworker bought but it was great. The macaroni salad is good and the tartar sauce is really good.

Note to self: DONT DO IT! This review really breaks my heart. I really didn't want to report back with such disappointing findings but in the spirit of managing expectations it's more beneficial to express this. How did Kim's Fish enter my World? I would NEVER typically deviate from my usual spot (Imperial Fish Market), but Kim's Fish World is the only fish fry market open on Sundays and I was starving on my way back from a charity thing about 20 minutes away from this location. It sounded worth the risk. It wasn't. I specified, "extra seasoning and extra crispy". Lesson learned. The fish was not seasoned like, AT ALL... I suppose the method here is to only season the batter opposed to seasoning the fish itself this makes a whirlwind of a difference!Secondly, extra crispy is achieved by adding additional batter. At least it was cooked appropriately because the batter wasn't falling off the fish thankfully, yet it was crunchy either. No bueno. I could deal with the whole texture thing but as my trusted yelpers know, I AM a TASTE FREAK and when exchanging money for food it seems unfortunate to have sub par experiences... *whomp whomp whomp* I suppose I paid for the learning curve. My first question for any fried fish joint will now be "do you season the batter or the fish too?" LOL. Though, my expectations were reasonable and I didn't take a bite to compare it to my favorite fish market, I did have the hope that the fish (not the batter alone) would be seasoned. Especially when it was communicated during the ordering process. I'd rather curb the craving until it can be satisfied from the very best fried fish joint imaginable. Why settle for less?

Kim's fish be BUSSIN! Prices are GREAT, services is GREAT and depending on the time of day they're pretty quick. Fasure a hood gem that never disappoints. Coming from Oakland I know good fried fish. Catfish, snapper and tilapia all good quality but I prefer the catfish and second the snapper. The jumbo shrimp and DELICIOUS:)

This is definitely one of my favorite fish spots in LA. They never disappoint. I always have to start eating in the car because It smells too good. Great flavor and seasoned perfectly every time.

I have visited this fish market many times and the staff is very nice and pleasant. You can tell they are Christians and very kind. It's a great fish market to go to call and order your things ahead of time so it'll be ready.

Not gonna lie, this was reallllyyy goodddddd! Even my grandma loved it and she's picky.

Visited Kim's Fish World today... This time I arrived when there was ample parking I felt led to go ahead and park in the parking lot RIGHT IN FRONT since there weren't hardly any cars and didn't see any folks hanging all out. I met Sam who I inquired about whether their telephones worked or not... Sam explained their phone was working and I shared that I called before coming and their was AGAIN no answer... I PLACED MY ORDER FOR: Fillet Sole - Lunch - no bread + Fries + hush puppies + hot sauce+ garlic tarter sauces The Food was GREAT for a RATING of: 5/5This is my 2nd visit where they do not answer their phones this causes the customer to have to place their orders in-person and wait. I do REALLY wish they would do better about answering their phone. I'm glad this time there wasn't crowds of people, hang outs in the parking lot and gatherings in the lot just to see folks argue and fight. I will try to come early from now on to avoid all that! -- I give this place an OVERALL RATING of: 4/5

This spot is a neighborhood staple. Good food at good prices. Great customer service. Food is made fresh when you order. Save time and order ahead. I always go for the snapper and shrimp combo.

Delicious food, plenty of choices and best service with a smile. Only downfall small parking lot.
