I went at a quite Monday night but the service was great. Food was awesome too. We were there for a long time but the server didn't bother us besides taking empty dishes and refilling drinks. The restaurant is very spacious . And seating is somewhat hidden in the side wing of the restaurant.

I had such a great dinner here tonight. I've been to this restaurant a few other times, and it has always been an awesome dinner so I'm way overdue for writing this review. The food is amazing! Authentic Japanese cuisine. I ordered the sashimi gozen, toro nigiri, and 2 oysters. Everything was delicious and high quality. The sashimi gozen comes with miso soup, salad, rice, a steamed egg type of pudding, and tempura. Needless to say, I had more than enough food! Service outstanding! The waitress had a dodger hat on and I mentioned to her that I was a dodger fan as well, and that they won on my birthday which was yesterday. She added an extra piece of toro to my meal and brought me this really tasty desert that had ice cream, sponge cake, and matcha puffs with a birthday candle. Oh and an iced tea! And when she brought the check she brought me another cookie that she said was her favorite. I just this was all so kind and thoughtful. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience.

Its okay, but its a bait and switch. See picturesBasically they posted Grade 5 uni on instagram and then decided to serve you Grade 2-3. The difference is not only visibly but taste as well. The uni was bitter. The rice was amazing, ikura was amazing. But Uni should be slightly sweet; not this reject of a mush. What happen to the uni, did they blend it? I will not be coming back but will go next door to Miyabi Uni. Please don't switch out the uni like this.

A hidden gem in the South Bay post the pandemic. We came here for a birthday celebration. The ambiance is welcoming, the sushi menu is vast, the food is next level delicious, the service is top notch and the value is amazing!! Highly recommended. Looking forward to our next meal at Irifune.

This place was suggested to me by another Yelper, and they weren't wrong, uni was good. It was fresh and sweet. The place was very quaint, and owners and server was very nice. The main problem was that the service was very slow. We were the 4th table seated, and it took us 45 minutes just to get water. I felt bad for the server as she was the only one working (perhaps the daughter as this looks like a mom and pop shop- which I love supporting). Kids were so thirsty, they started pretending they were served water. Bluefin toro must have been pretty good and my kids wolfed it down in seconds. My uni toro handroll was ok, uni was fresh and sweet, toro was meh. We ordered 3 chirashi bowls with uni and ikura (we also ordered 2 tempura- not photographed). Tuna and hamachi was good, the rest of the sashimi was meh, uni and ikura was really good. I mean the price wasn't too bad either. We paid $210 for 3 adults and 2 children. I'm hoping maybe this was just an off day as most of the reviews were glowing.

The food was delicious and fresh. Only the service was very slow and underwhelming which is why it lost a star. We had a brand new server at our table who was very nervous and still learning on the job. There was only another waitress which made a total of just 2 waitress for a Saturday afternoon lunch service. Which is why I have them 4 stars instead of 5.Hopefully the service will be much better in the future. The restaurant is casual and simple. It's in the shopping street area in Torrance so you can definitely find parking.

This restaurant is in an unassuming business plaza, and looks smaller than it is (the entrance is not facing the street but rather, another restaurant). After making my rounds around Old Torrance for a bit, I found parking in the area and walked over. I spied an underground lot in the same building as the restaurant, but I wanted to stay on the street. I loved the menu; there's real snow crab and many rolls that aren't heavily sauced. I chose a salmon skin roll because it had gobo and two hand rolls- one had snow crab sticks and the other was eel. Everything was so fresh!Overall, I would definitely return and try more of the menu! Pros:- ambience and decor- simple menu- real crab- polite employees Cons:- limited dining hours- parking is not great- hand rolls difficult to eat (cucumbers are cut big, nori is tough to bite)- a tad pricey

Decided to stop in for happy hour randomly and was really surprised at how great the quality of sushi was. Had the yellowtail and bluefin tuna and both were great - some of the best I've had in socal. Leaving a review so others can come help out the local business, they have a pretty good happy hour from 3:30-6:30 and beers are $3

TLDR: Best restaurant experience I've ever had. It's so good that I have to write a review because I want more people to know about this gem. Great Quality! Great Value! Great Service! The place specializes in uni (sea urchin) but I didn't get to try it because my mom doesn't like sea urchin. I'll definitely give it a try the next time I come back with my friend The owners are extremely accommodating and very attentive, making sure that my mom and I had a great time after a long day of work. We arrived near closing time and Ms. Tomoko made sure that we have a good dining experience without rushing us like some other places we've been to.We ordered the salmon carpaccio, sashimi plate (8 slices), around 20 oysters and a mixed tempura plate. We ended up getting all of the above with extra sashimi, miso soup, and fruits to end the meal on the house (*´`*) The oysters were extremely good, it's $3 for each. They were fresh and plum! The mixed tempura plate was only $10 and you get 5 shrimps with 3-4 different types of veggies. I also enjoyed the sashimi plate and the owner also gave us extra fish with deep-fried bones. At the end of the meal, my mom decided to ask the owners about places in Japan because I'll be going on a trip soon. Despite it being late, Ms. Tomoko and Mr. Kawamoto took their time searching up places online for me and I'm very excited to give them all a try.
