Came here after realizing Yelp's "best burrito in California" a couple years ago was right in my backyard. Swung by to get Weekday lunch to-go and it did not disappoint! It's easy to miss this place as Pacific Ave can be a quiet yet high-traffic street (if that makes sense?) but you'll recognize it immediately by its colorful exterior amongst other places on the block. Parking shouldn't be too much of an issue if you're okay walking a minute or two down the block.I got a burrito (no beans--personal preference) with the grilled cheese crust and carne asada. Everything was pretty flavorful, well balanced and the grilled cheese added a really nice component that was not overwhelming. It's kind of folded into the burrito but does not make it overly greasy or anything. There is a pretty decent amount of rice so you may want to forego that if you're not super into rice in your burritos. We also tried some of the Al Pastor tacos which were really flavorful. Heads up, it's a bit spicy.Service was super friendly and fast. It's a bit small inside but enough seating for several small groups of people. It definitely gives me a real taco shop vibe when I go inside! Glad we have a place like this near Wrigley.

A friend nostalgically talked about the bean and cheese burrito here so naturally I had to try it.The bean and cheese burrito ($11) here is a trip. First of all, the cheese is grilled right onto the tortilla which is textually really interesting and not too overtly cheesy. Secondly, the bean mixture up is a little more soupy with whole beans (and onions!) enveloped into the mixture. The rendition here is unexpectedly very good and I appreciate a good bean and cheese sitch.I also shared an order of potato taquitos ($7.50 for 3) and some tacos ($2.50). The potato taquitos are definitely worth a try. They hold their nice crispy exterior even after being topped with lettuce, some crema, and cotija cheese. These are an excellent snack if you're looking for something satisfying, but not too filling.Highly recommend the bean and cheese at Joliza.

Getting my car worked on in the area and was craving for some menudo and this place had really high review so decided to come check it out. I came on a Friday night and there were plenty of parking spots on the street. The place was relatively empty as most of their orders were to go but the service was really awesome so I'd recommend eating it there. The place is relatively small so not that great for big groups .We ordered menudo large and two carne asada tacos. They brought us out three tacos an extra pastor which I thought was an error but confirmed that they wanted us to try it. Wow praise GOD we got blessed :) the tacos were really good! And we really loved the menudos. It came with a huge amount of meat, some corn tortillas and two types of salsa but be careful with the habanero salsa! What really stood out was how clean the meat looked ;) Great service and delicious menudos!!! Will def be back soon!

In 2022, Yelp made the end-of-year proclamation that Joliza's Tacos had the best burrito in California. KTLA took the story and ran with it. Located in Long Beach, this definitely caught my attention. California has GREAT burritos in LA, SD, and SF. Wasn't expecting to see a local place on a national list.I want to report that the tacos and burritos at Joliza's are really good. The meat is flavorful and the red salsa is spicy. I would recommend that you order a "cheese crust" with your burrito. They intelligently choose to put the cheese crust on the inside of the burrito instead of the outside (which causes it to taste extra salty and greasy). I've actually had catering orders for tacos for my workplace and it was pretty well-loved. I'd do it more often if I could do pickup orders more easily. If you are a tourist or are from outside the LB area, I'm not telling you to take a detour for their burritos; however, I would say that their burritos are worth stopping to check out when you're driving in the area! I do have to admit that I crave it every time I drive in the area.

Service was fast as I went in during lunch time on a weekday. The burrito was a great size, and the carne asada was good, but a little different than other spots. I give the burrito a 7/10. I think since I don't put salsa in my burrito it tasted a little plain, but the carne was good. It's a small taco shop so plan to go for take out.

Ordered over the phone for pickup. There's a designated parking spot out front, so it was easy to just park and pop inside to grab the food. -Torta had stale Bread. Good meat though. 2.5/5-Tons of chips with the order of chips. You could totally share between multiple people. -Red salsa is spicyyyy. -Quesadilla was good but wanted more sour cream. -Burrito was a big size. -Horchata good. -Tacos no tortilla (basically a salad lol). Meat was a tad salty. Sour cream was watery. 4.75/5-Menudo. Meat not cut, so harder to eat at work without a real knife, but you put all the spices in to your liking. I liked it other than the meat being in larger chunks. 4.25/5Overall, we liked this spot. Good price point for the amount of food. Would come back.

My bf took me here and we got 3 Al pastor tacos, 2 carne asada tacos, 1 asada quesadilla, and 1 potato taquitos. This place is known for their quesadillas but their tacos are SO good and it's very cheap. Total came out to $38 with an horchata and a bottle soda. The food comes out very fast and piping hot, their salsas have a kick to it. There was plenty of available parking in front of the shop and my bf and I got there around 6pm. The staff comes to check on you pretty often and the service is great

You can never go wrong with Joliza's! Great prices and great food quality. In my opinion, anything with Carnitas is the best. I've also ordered large party-size orders and it was prepared and packaged perfectly.
