JOEY Manhattan Beach

Delicious food, great service, awesome ambiance. The music was On Point when I was there on a Saturday night. I'd only been to the DTLA location, but this might be my go to location now!Do yourself a favor and start with the Korean fried cauliflower, you'll be happy you did. The lettuce wraps are tasty too, but the cauliflower is a big winner. For my meal I went with the Steak Frites (medium) this time around, no complaints from me.

We stopped by on a Thursday night without a reservation. Our experience was only so-so. Overall, it wasn't worth the price. Upon arrival, we were asked for a phone number so that they could contact us after what was supposed to be a 5-10 minute wait. We were not offered the champagne that is usually offered to guests while they wait, although it was offered to the guests while arrived before us and those who arrived after. We waited for 15 minutes. During that time, we saw guests arrive, enjoy their champagne, and be seated in ahead of us. We figured they probably had reservations.But we were never contacted via the mobile number that we provided. Instead, after 15 minutes, we asked at the desk how much longer the wait would be. We were then told that we could be seated right away. Honestly, I think they just forgot about us.As we were seated, my husband mentioned not getting the champagne, and we were finally offered some. We were seated in a table right next to the server station. It was a loud and busy spot, with groups of servers congregating around the computer. As a result, we were treated to all kinds of conversation among the servers, including conversations about their uses of insulin which felt like they should have been private. Worse, the lights from across the street were in my husband's eyes during the entire meal. Our food was tasty. I ordered the fish tacos, and my husband had the crab cake and a salad. The crab cake had corn in it, which was unusual. My fish tacos came with a side of fries. They were the skinny fry style, and they were nice and crisp. The portions weren't huge, but they were enough. The food wasn't bad, but I'd expect a better experience for the price. Overall, we felt like we were simply considered unimportant compared to other guests.

had a decent dinner at Joey Manhattan Beach last night. truthfully, the food was good, but the initial service was not great. I'll get into that first:we put ourselves on the waitlist and saw that there was no one ahead on the opentable app, so naturally you'd think it wouldn't take long to get seated (and since the woman said it'll only a couple minutes). well we waited outside in the cold for nearly 20 minutes before I walked inside and asked for an update, to which they said oh wow sorry about that. )-: not great to experience as a first impression for a restaurant. the food, however, was good; we got sushi cones, steak frites plate, steak and sushi plate, and even got complimentary champagne before getting seated. the inside of the place was super nice and had dark lighting which I like. service from our actual waitress was great & she was very kind.

It was one of my favorite birthdays and date night place, until last Sunday we went there for my fiancé birthday. First of all, the service was super busy, he didn't really have time for all the tables. The food came out super slow. The food was not up to the standard, The wing was salty ball! My steak and ravioli was cold. Drink refills took 20 plus minutes. Everyone is so busy there. I would never go back again. Very disappointed and feel sad one of my favorite place become like this.

Let me start with why I deducted 1 star:Other patrons were offered the complimentary champagne while waiting for their tables while my husband & I were not. While I did take it as a light slight for not having it offered I will admit I would have politely declined it had it been offered since we had just finished a local workout. Another reason for deducting a star was due to the Bollywood Butter Chicken needing to be sent back because it was, sad to say, a really bad tasting dish. I tried two bites of it and could not stomach it. I openly admit to traditional chicken tika masala being one of my 5 top foods in the world, and this version completely missed the mark. It tasted bland, unseasoned, and was served with burnt & crispy "naan". (The waiter was gracious enough to take the dish back and not charge the bill.) Here's the good:EVERYTHING ELSE! We tried the spicy cauliflower and the corn guacamole for apps. Both were bursting with flavor and I wish we had extra to take home. The cauliflower was just the right amount of spicy without being overpowering. The corn guacamole was cooling and refreshing without any bitterness that I usually find in dishes with cilantro. My husband had the shrimp pasta and it was a light dish that was full of flavor. We ended up sharing his dish since mine was sent back and the portion was more than enough for us to share. Our waiter was phenomenal! So gracious, attentive, and not overbearing at all. He put me at complete ease when I was feeling guilty about sending back my chicken dish and stated that he just wanted to make sure we had a good experience with their restaurant. His wonderful demeanor was a real highlight. I do plan on returning to this spot to try other dishes as they have a lot of different options from many different cuisines. NOTE:This is a very dimly lighted restaurant, leading most patrons to use the camera light from their phone in order the read the menus once it got dark outside. I did get a slight giggle from this, sorry!

I ordered the fried cauliflower. They are sweet. Some were crunchy some were not. I prefer all crunchy. I also ordered the tofu lettuce wrap. It was very good and crunchy with the tortilla strips and nuts. My friend ordered the wings. She reported that they were dry. She also had the steak and Bianco ravioli. She reported that is was good as well. The steak was tender.The service was outstanding l. The waitress was response and seemed to always be there when we needed something. The staff worked together seamlessly.

Loved my luxurious experience at Joeys. Upping arrival they present you champagne and it's so lovely. I went here for my besties birthday and they made it nice and special.Service here is so good employees are friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is so welcoming with the dimmed lighting and high energy atmosphere. The food here is expensive but you will be fed good food. Coming for a special occasion is so nice here. I would love to come again.

I went to Joeys tonight for a business dinner. When I say excellent service and great ambiance OMG. Our server was Ricky. He is a true professional and I will be asking for him again. I took it to another level and asked for his manager. Jennifer is excellent and I can't wait to go to the next business meeting with a larger crowd.

A huge shoutout to JULIA! She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and really knew the menu inside and out - made fantastic recommendations! The service truly elevated our dining experience, and we'll definitely be back to ask for her again! The steak was one of the best I've ever had!
