Jang Soo Sushi Bar Restaurant

"A truly authentic Korean sushi restaurant" as my Korean partner described. He grew up in the countryside of South Korea and shared with me that the dishes served here were reminiscent of the food he ate back at home. We happened to find Jang Soo while in the area for work and stopped by for a weekday lunch. The restaurant felt cozy but not confined. All of the servers were very friendly and accommodating (it probably helps if you speak Korean).For us two, we opted for the small sashimi combo and an order of the live octopus. (Tip: Order for mini if it's only two people. It's a LOT of food lol.)This was my first time having live octopus and it was a fun experience! It was served with sesame oil and salt which complimented the flavors well. It was a little hard to pick them off the plate because of the suction cups but you just have to work for your food :)The sashimi combo is a whole feast so you really don't need to order anything else. The course includes a variety of sashimi, sashimi salad, seafood platter, assorted tempura, spicy fish soup, and your choice of soju, beer, or a house roll. PLUS banchan side dishes. As much as we struggled to finish the course in its entirety, we kept going for more because everything tasted delicious. The sashimi and seafood were gorgeously plated and the flavors really shined in every dish they brought out. My favorite out of the whole course was the spicy fish soup which is served with steamed white rice or nurungji (the crunchy scorched rice from stone pots) with boiled water. By the end of our meal we were so stuffed and we had to fight against our desire to taste more.The next time we came, we ordered the MINI sashimi combo (no octopus that time) and it was just the right amount of food, but we still left super stuffed. Overall, we thoroughly enjoy our experiences here and hope to bring our friends and family to enjoy the feast.

An incredibly solid restaurant with fresh fish and fresh food! I've come here with my family many times and each time we're here, we have a great experience. This place is very unassuming and located in a lot that doesn't have many restaurants (other than BBQ night). food: The sushi was fresh and flavorful, and the bento box lunch special offered a generous variety, including sashimi, nigiri, and tempura. The portions were ample, and everything tasted great. I love getting their salmon and their mixed salad/poke bowl. service: The staff was friendly and attentive. We were seated quite fast every time and we never had to wait that long for our food. The servers always helped us whenever we needed it!value: Considering the quality and portion sizes, the prices are reasonable. The lunch specials are great and you get good food for the price!overall: Jang Soo Sushi Bar is a solid spot for satisfying sushi cravings. The combination of fresh food, friendly service, and reasonable prices makes worth coming back to. If you're in the area and in the mood for sushi, it's worth a visit!

This is on my list of REAL great Sushi restaurants. The food is always attractive and delicious creations.They are open till 10:00 Monday - Saturday. We Love this place. One night, everyone in the restaurant eating was Asian when we walked in and sat down... on you know that always a good sign! The remodeled the decor a bite but it's still my go-to for a nice quite neighborhood time.

Jang Soo is definitely a solid local spot to visit if you are in the area looking for some fresh Korean hwe (raw fish). The restaurant is very homey and has some traditional aspects. Service was quick and attentive. Thick cuts of fresh fish and it comes with a lot of different side dishes. For a party of 2, we ordered the mini sashimi combo and we were shocked at the amount of foods that came out lol. My favorite is definitely the fresh halibut. It has a really clean flavor and firm texture. Some of the sides that we got were: sashimi salad, steak egg, raw marinated shrimps, tempura, cheese corn, grilled mackerel, soup, and more! If I'm ever in the area and craving sashimi, I will be back but not sure if I'll go out of my way to dine here. Food was simple and yummy. Great local spot to visit if you are staying around here.

We went on a Monday night and were immediately seated. Food:We ordered the small sashimi combo, enough to feed 4. It came out with a lot of delicious small dishes (seafood side dishes as well, such as fried crab and octopus), well marinated sashimi salad, Korean steamed egg, a hefty sashimi platter, and spicy soup at the end. Everything was fresh and hearty, not the type of food you feel sick after.Service:Traditional Korean restaurant service, meaning quick to order and serve. The staff was very attentive and quick to bring more water etc when requested. The food came out in a proper order as well and a timely manner so we were able to take our time with each part of the courseAmbiance:There's substantial seating to bring mid sized parties, and the bathroom is clean. Nice, traditional Korean restaurant you'd find here, but the quality is notable!

Always delicious food, quick and friendly service.The bento box lunch combos come with a generous side of four pieces California roll, three sushi nigiri and sashimi (chef's choice).I got a cold soba noodle combo with tempura ( three crispy pieces : one shrimp, one squash and one sweet potato.)Thank goodness the a/c was cranked to its cool setting.Great for ladies who do lunch, gentlemen doing business lunches and family gatherings.I saw the table next to us get the halibut special: seemed like there were so many side dishes coming out for this. Including cheesy corn and hot Korean style tofu stew. Good value considering the prices are understandably higher than before. Three combo lunches came up to $76 before tip.

How would you feel if you are hungry and your favorite food keeps coming and it seems it will never end? Well, this restaurant is that paradise! This is one of my family's top 5 favorite restaurants that we became regulars. If you have a large party, always make a reservation as this place is packed during lunch and dinner hours. The seating is limited but it can hold large groups if needed. It has a little bit of a Japanese Izakaya feel but it is a Korean owned restaurant with superb service. It is very clean and they even have mats on the floor so the customers don't slip and fall.If you a hard core sashimi fan, I wouldn't waste your money and time on the rolls, noodles, bento, rice bowls, and even sushi. The way to go is either the Dinner Special or Jang Soo Japanese Course. If you are more serious, get at least either Live Halibut or Sashimi Combo or both because it comes with sashimi salad, seafood platter, assorted tempura, spicy fish soup, steamed eggs, and your choice of alcohol or roll. Go big or go home fits exactly at this place.

They are great for quick sushi lunches. They have sushi bento (small, medium and large) and very affordable. Good quality and comes with soup as well. Sashimi is great too!

A friend recommended this place to me and I placed an order to go. The bento box lunch special is $25 in addition to this plate it comes with miso soup and a sushi box. Well worth it. Sushi was fresh and this is a lot of food for one person. Will definitely go back to experience dining in and to get the full service experience. I have pictures of the decor listed. They are located in a shopping plaza so there is ample parking.

Food was good, fish of good quality and service was great, and prices affordable. Nice authentic ambiance.
