Jang Dok Dae is a lovely, family owned Korean restaurant on the edge of Norwalk and Cerritos. It is on a corner lot with plenty of parking. The staff/owners are very sweet and try to make everything homemade. The black sesame soup with hand pulled noodles is the best dish, and not many Korean restaurants have it!

3.75 rounded to a 4.This is an authentic and traditional Korean restaurant, like the ones you'd find in the rural seaside areas of S. Korea. The interior isn't anything stellar and this place is definitely a mom and pop shop. I could already tell by all the older folks that dine and takeout here. This place seems to specialize in fish-entrees. We ordered the kalchi gui, eundaegu jorim, and seafood pancake. If you come here, you should get a fish/seafood entree instead of a noodle or meat entree. The kalchi gui was sooooo good. The eundaegu jorim was good, but not the best I've had. The seafood pancake was very generous with the amount of seafood inside, but was slightly tough and not the best I've had. But still fair. I'd say the prices for the specific dishes we got were really fair though compared to other places. The dishes automatically come with banchan/side dishes, rice, and soybean soup. The soybean soup was not great, banchan was p good, and I have no complaints about the rice. Service was so friendly, kind, and attentive. They also seem to get a lot of regulars because of how friendly and personal they were with some of the tables. I'd say because this place is authentic, the flavors aren't super saturated with salt and sugar. The flavor is more in the fish, produce ingredients, and classic Korean fermented pastes. They don't like to hide the flavors with a ton of salt and sugar.

food wasn't good..nice lady but banchan was bland and flavorless.chicken kalgooksoo tasted like water w noodlesAnd spicy ribs was overly sweet with gochujang sauce. I hate to give such a bad review but it was such a waste of money.

Came here with family for lunch. The place itself is small, very Mom and Pop cozy feel. They have plenty of traditional Korean dishes, but I believe they are most known for their fried and braised fish. We ordered 1 fried and 1 braised fish along with their cold soybean noodle. Everything came out so fresh and was delicious. I would definitely come back.

this is a TRADITIONAL korean restaurant, so whenever my grandma wants to eat out, we often come here. if you're used to americanized korean food, which ig you wouldn't be able to differentiate if you haven't had homemade korean food, maybe this isn't for you. but if you like traditional korean food like 은대구조림, this is nice. the lady who runs it doesn't speak fluent english, so if you don't speak korean, pls look into what dishes you want to order ahead of time. most customers are middle aged-elders

Quiet mom&pop shop. Great service, very authentic, HUGE PORTIONS! The bossam could probably feed 5 people. I plan to come back and try more dishes here.

Very traditional Korean food. Hole in the wall mom and pop feel in a not so nice plaza. Although I highly recommend this place for it's tasty, authentic food, I think outside of an adventurous few or those very familiar with korean food and culture, I would not be able to recommend this to non-koreans as it may not be appreciated. Not to say it's not great, I love this place. A good family spot, not so much a date spot. Give it a try!

Feels like home. The best Korean food in Cerritos imo. The lady who makes the food has been here for over 15 years. They work hard and make delicious food. We ordered catering for a party and everyone said it was the best catered Korean food ever! Love this place. Try it out you won't be disappointed!

Love the food here! Been going every week for take out and love their barley rice. Wish a little more barley in the mix tho. All the soups I've tried are delicious and taste good. All the side dishes are delicious and not sweet and not too spicy which is rare and good considering all other Korean restaurants make their food all too sweet and spicy for no reason (Korean food is not supposed to be sweet on everything) Kimchee is wonderful it's not sweet which is really good! This place is one of the BEST Korean restaurants I hope they keep it up cause they seem like they care about the quality of their food. Love coming here!!

This place feels like a home-cooked meal made by my mom, which I love. The owner is so generous, and the waitress provides excellent service! The pork ribs here are delicious.
