I've decided to take up visiting diners once a week on Saturdays on my mini moto and Jack's Whittier was the first one on my list! Hopefully not the last as I look to continue my own little Saturday tradition.Anyway, I'm a sucker for old architecture from the older days. The buildings, the decor, the vibe - it all has so much more character compared to what we have today. That's what drew me here to begin with.More importantly, the food was good. I ordered a Denver omelette and thankfully I was able to substitute some items for a few slices of tomatoes and iceberg lettuce (doing a low-carb thing right now). The omelette was cooked just right. Not rubbery, not dry, and not under. Not going to lie though, I wish I wasn't on a diet because I absolutely love greasy diner food and I'm certain they would have not disappointed.Service was really friendly and the food came out quick! I got the best seat in house too since I wanted to dine at the countertop. I got a nice little backdrop for my photos too.Hoping to come back in the near future NOT on a diet to experience deliciousness.

Originally opened in 1933 I drove from West LA specifically for this diner and I'm very happy that I did so. I am working through a list of all diners in LA County and next on the list was Jack's. I was excited to try it based on how many decades it's been open and also just from the pictures I could tell this sort of architecture and vibe that I want to see for a diner breakfast. They have a parking lot attached with free parking and even though it was crowded we were able to be seated after about a 5 min wait. Our server was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. The interior looks like a true LA retro diner with the Googie architecture and plenty of booth and counter seating. Since it was opened prior to the 1950s, it doesn't have the rock 'n' roll theme which I was glad to see since a lot of the newer diners copy that 1950s aesthetic. They have a very large menu so it was hard to choose what I wanted to order but I settled on the Steak Skillet because I'd read a lot of great reviews about it. I will say that it is very good and the steak is very tender and flavorful. They don't skimp on the portion sizes and overall I was very happy with the dish. We also ordered some bakery items and everything was very tasty and made us want to visit again soon. I would definitely recommend to any fan of diners or to anyone in the area searching for a great breakfast or lunch option.

Good day to go. A little on the cool side but we ate in outside patio.Service was polite and attentive. There was an electrical issue so no belgian waffle, but pancakes were light and fluffy and so good. No after pic of omelette because it was ALL gone.Less than 15 min wait for early Saturday breakfast/brunch? Yes please. But it was quite busy when we left.

This place was ok. I had their steak skillet and was pretty good and filling. Instead of having a toast I tried the biscuit and gravy. The biscuits were OK, but the gravy was very tasty and it went well together. I also tried their chicken and waffles. Chicken like the little flavor and the waffle was not what I expected. I will probably not get that again if I come back. Service was great. It took a while for us to get in there. so make sure you go early. There's plenty of sitting and they even had the football game on. So you could come eat some breakfast and enjoy your football game.

It was time for another visit to one of my favorite restaurant's for a meal. We came in on 1-19-21 which was Saturday around 2pm. It was nice and crowded as always which is a good thing knowing people realize how special it is. I ordered my blueberry pancakes and they were good as always with plenty of blueberries inside the pancakes. Our server was Julie and she was very nice as always, professional and took excellent care of us. We had a good time and enjoyed the great service and food.

Only thing I liked was the service and their hot chocolate. Service was very friendly and attentive, and food came out very quickly. The hot chocolate wasn't thin or too rich, but just enough to be enjoyable. Unfortunately, I got the Eggs Benedict, and it was one of the most disappointing I've had. One of the eggs was overcooked and the hollandaise sauce was very bland. They didn't add any cayenne pepper to make the flavor stand out. I seasoned it with salt and pepper, but it didn't really do much. Biscuit halves were hard and the hash browns were soggy. Nothing about it was great, sadly.

Outside: You can't miss the Jacks sign, it's the cutest sign. The parking lot is a little small for all the businesses. But I've never had an issue finding parking. There are some outdoor covered seating areas available as well! Inside: It has a cute diner feel, there is a lot of seating options available. You can ever get a few lottery scratchers while you wait! Public restrooms are available. Food: The food was good! The ranch with the side salad was so good, the fries were fresh and good. The sandwich had such fresh ingredients and even the turkey was fresh!! Service: The service was so good! There was absolutely nothing to complain about, everyone who worked here seemed very friendly and helpful. Our food came out in a timely manner and our drinks stayed full!

We enjoyed a stress free Christmas 2024 dinner at Jack's Whittier Restaurant. We were a party of 5, with reservations for 3:00 PM.We were greeted and seated immediately. Two members of our party were late, and the waitress did not pressure us. She brought us glasses of water, and we ordered an appetizer of fried zucchini.' The restaurant has wine and beer.Jack's has been in the same location since 1938. The vibe of this restaurant is from the 70's, and it probably was the last time it was updated. The seating was comfortable, with many booths. There are tables too for the obese diners. The menu is extensive, and there were a few 3 course Holiday Dinner choices.. I enjoyed the Prime Rib Dinner that included soup or salad, and pumpkin pie . When it arrived without whipped cream, the manager brought over a can of cream and topped the pie. There is plenty of parking.Thank you to all at Jack's. You are GREAT!

Awesome little place with a 70s diner vibe to it . The place is very big and seems to be very busy for breakfast so get there early. The food is really good the breakfast skillet was very flavorful. The fried chicken needed a bit more flavor but was so juicy and crispy it was very good with some hot sauce. The waffle is sweet on its own. Got biscuits and gravy instead of toast which is awesome that they offer it. Eid and will definitely be back
